View Full Version : Simple Questions

October 31st, 2006, 07:05 AM
Because the demand of questions for Diamond and Pearl seem to be getting a bit more prominent in this forum, I'm making a Simple Questons thread a bit early.
Basically, this thread covers questions that can be asked without needing to create a full discussion thread about it, ranging from questions like "What are the requirements for the National Dex?" to "Where do I find the plates that change Arseus' form?".
Anybody who knows the answer can reply. Anybody can ask a question, too. Please, however, use "Search this Thread" to see if the question's been answered, first.
Make sure you check the FAQ before asking a question! Chances are it could be there, and you may not have to ask here. ~ The Hunk

Yay! Thank you Wolt for making a Simple Questions thread for D/P.
Well this is gonna help. Since no one is answering my thread, I'll post it here and see what I get.
So, How can I get myself a secret base in the Shinou Underground?

I thought someone already answered in another thread... Oh well.
Anyways, to make a secret base (reading from Serebii.net) you have to:
1. Go to Hakutai City.
2. Find the Old Man that has the Drill.
NOTE: This drill can only be used once, so be careful!
(Additional Steps:) In case you ever want to go make a new Secret Base, you talk to the Hikers located in the Underground.
They should give you a Drill.
You can also buy items from the Hikers, but like Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, you have to pay for the items.
I hope that helps!

I believe you can buy more drills from the hikers, though.

I don't have either version yet- I live in the USA and I'm waiting for the American version. Last time, before Ruby and Sapphire came out, I downloaded a translated ROM and it spoiled everything. This time, I'm waiting.
That said-
How many new Pokemon are there?
How many total Pokemon are there?
And how many of these new Pokemon are obtainable only by Nintendo Events?

Just want to ask a simple question, or maybe a toughie:
Has it been proven how Aruseus is caught? (ex. Catch All Pokemon, event, etc.)
If it has, then do you go to an event, or do you just catch all the Pokemon?
If anyone can answer this, thank you very much.

The Key Item to get him is likely by events, because by default the key item (Heaven's Pipe) is not in the game.

Is there a Pokémon blocking the road on the map like in all the other games. For example.
R/B/Y Snorlax
G/S/C Sudowood
R/S/E Kecleon
Thanks in advance

That's a good question... Probibly so.

November 17th, 2006, 02:05 PM
Not really. ;) This time around, the only pokemon blocking your path is a flock of Psyduck, and you have to obtain medicine to "use" on them before they'll leave. But they won't attack you when you give it to them, so it's not really the same thing. xD
Still, with all the legendaries and Ubers in this game, I guess it all balances out. :P

Does anyone have a map of Sinnoh with names of the places on it? I'm really confused with people talking about "Tengan mountain" and all the citys etc.
Ratiasu-kun
November 18th, 2006, 04:02 PM
Here's (http://www.serebii.net/archive/September-2006.shtml) one off SPP. Scroll down to the middle-ish of the page. Its just the in-game map, but it has city/lake/route/mountain names when u mouse over it. Tengan Moutains is the big range running down the middle of Sinnoh

Thats a nice map there.
Anyone have a map of Victory Road?
..:i n n e r_宇 宙:..
November 20th, 2006, 07:31 AM
I have to ask, because the map states that you can see the opposite legend of your game's in Kannagi Town, what does that mean?
Does it mean Diamond's Diaruga will appear, or Pearl's Parukia will appear if I had a game of Diamond.
Simply put, if you don't understand:
If I have a game of Diamond, will there appear
Dialga
or
Paruka
?
Just wanted to know...
Thanks, anyone, if you can help.

I dont think you can see it. Although I posted the map, I did not make it so Im not certain about that. But I am pretty sure you cant see Parukia in Diamond and likewise Diagura in Pearl. Maybe the legend means storyline?? Does D/P have a storyline for each legendary kinda like what R/S had??
Myzou
November 20th, 2006, 02:08 PM
In Diamond, you get Dialga, and Vice Versa :)
During the game, a trainer will show you the opposite one, which makes it possible to obtain the national dex without trading or anything like that, all sinnoh pokemon are seeable in game without trading except Manaphy and Fione :D
Ratiasu-kun
November 21st, 2006, 03:32 AM
Thats convenient... Even Aruseusu, Darkrai and Sheimi? That would seem too good to be true
..:i n n e r_宇 宙:..
November 21st, 2006, 06:02 AM
The event Pokemon are in the game, however, no person can just "show" them, you have to access them by event.
I think they mean the Sinnoh PokeDex, not the National PokeDex, in which Aruseus, Darkrai and Sheimi would be located.
Anyways, thanks for answering my question, guys...
Much appreciated!

Forgot to say thanks for the map. I understand a lot better now. :)
But I have another question: Do you need to beat e4/do random stuff before you can get pokemon that appear depending on the GBA game in GBA slot? I'd really like to have Growlithe(with my Fire Red) right at the start instead of that over-used Ponyta.
RKO1125
November 25th, 2006, 08:34 PM
Sorry dude, but Growlithe is only available after you recieve the National Dex. there aren't many fire type Pokemon in the Sinnoh dex. I just used Hikozaru...not that piece of crap ponyta. I hate that thing.
..:i n n e r_宇 宙:..
November 26th, 2006, 02:14 AM
What I'm curious about is what region your Pokemon FireRed is, in the first place, because you can only use select Pokemon from other places outside of Japan.
Anyways, assuming you have the Japanese version, and you want to get a Growlithe, I think that you can, because Growlithe is located in Route 201/Route 202. Only Pal Park is an E4 beat exclusive. However, if you want to get your own Growlithe from FireRed, you have to beat the Elite 4 first.
Hope this answered your questions.
Oh, and btw, they won't appear in your PD until you get the National Dex.

Well, my Fire Red is European, and I was thinking that I would import Diamond when it comes out in North America. But because it hasn't come out yet, I guess you can't really confirm if it works between those versions. :/
(I assume that you meant that you could get Growlithe that way before e4)

1. How do I get rid of the man blocking my way to get on the route towards the 8th gym?
2. Where is the Hotel Key?

Foreign Transfers (http://www.serebii.net/diamondpearl/foreign.shtml).
Serebii.net proved this some time ago, but you still can't trade Growlithes there. It's a shame.
Ok, I have two questions!
1. How do I get rid of the man blocking my way to get on the route towards the 8th gym?
2. Where is the Hotel Key?
1. You can only get rid of him once you have gotten the 7th Gym Badge, and gotten Diaruga/Parukia. After you've gotten those criteria done, you can access the place, and then go to the 8th Gym.
2. The Hotel Key is a Nintendo event that will contain Darkrai, in which once you obtain it, you get to go to sleep inside the Hotel, and Darkrai will disturb you.
Ok, my question is kinda like requests, but here I go.
What are the new eight gym badges, can I have pictures.

This picture was from Serebii.net, and now from my Photobucket, in case they wish to delete it. If is located in their Diamond/Pearl Gym Leaders section.
I hope I helped!

The fact that you downloaded the D/P Rom was a waste of time unless you have a Nintendo DS Supercard. Thats all the ROMS can be used for ATM unlike the GBA ROMS. There is no working DS Emulator.
Okay, I have a new question.
How long approximately is the Victory Road and what HMs will you need inside?

When you upload a pokemon and catch it in pal park does it keep its oringal OT or does it get a new one, the one you up-loaded it onto?
Will the US version be able to trade with the UK version?

Where can I see my Friend Code of wifi.
I know its a stupid question but.....xD

December 14th, 2006, 07:22 AM
That's... on the DS. You can find it by going to the third option from NEW GAME, OPTION, and WIFI.
Once you're there, you should go to the red button. Then, you go to the top button.
Your friend code is there.
Bah hah.
Anyways, so nobody will ask where the Move Tutors are, I'll list them here. Just because I'm nice. Not.
MOVE TUTOR: THE ELEMENTAL HYPER BEAMS
Found in Route 228, this old man can teach your starter Pokemon (or Grass/Fire/Water type Pokemon) the moves Frenzy Plant, Blast Burn, and Hydro Cannon. You should be familiar with these moves if you own Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen.
MOVE TUTOR: METEORIC SWARM
This old lady at Route 210 can teach your Dragon-type (and Aruseus, OMG) Meteoric Swarm. Yes, that's the move that was named from the competition that no one really cares about. Can I stop rambling now?
Anyways, to get these moves, your Pokemon has to have a high happiness level. I recommend two hearts. If you need to check your Pokemon happiness level, you can use your Poketch function Happiness Checker, which can be obtained from Hakutai City, in the Pokemon Center, and ask the woman in front of you (and no, not Nurse Joy!)
Anyways, have fun.

Anyways, I'll write down here so no one gets confused in case some other bum tries to ask the same question:
THE 3RD GYM IS NOT IN YOSUGA CITY!
Rather, you enter the Big Circle Place, you see your Mom and sister, you battle Rival once you exit the BCP, then get out of the city through the right, go battle, go past Zui Town, go all the way to other town, then battle Gym Leader there.
(BTW, a weird thing about the Yosuga Gym. How can Rival beat the Yosuga Gym, if she's the 5th Gym Leader and still lose to someone who hasn't beaten the 3rd Gym yet? It's so confusing...)
Any other questions?
EDIT: Wrong Gym, I thought he meant Yosuga. I'm an idiot.
Anyways, I'll try to help as best I can.
1. From the middle square with the guy, push the piece LEFT.
2. Then, turn to the left side of the square, and push the second piece LEFT.
3. Then, go completely left, go through the pieces, and go all the way and push the uppermost piece RIGHT.
4. Go back to 2, except instead of turning to the left side, go to the right side, and push LEFT.
5. Go through, and push the upper piece LEFT.
6. Go to the rightmost square, and push the piece RIGHT.
7. Go through that square to the upper square, and push the piece RIGHT gym.
8. Go to the left of the bottom-right square, and push the piece RIGHT. You'll see why soon.
9. Push the upper piece RIGHT.
10. Go to the right of the right square, and go all the way up until you can get to the top piece, then push it LEFT.
11. Go from 7, but keep going up, and push the piece LEFT.
12. Go back to 2, except push the first piece from the bottom RIGHT.
13. Go through the two left squares and push the piece RIGHT.
14. Go through from the middle squares, and save. You're at the Gym Leader!

There are some differences but some of them arent significant. Sometimes you need to look pretty hard to find it. I cant recall one ATM though.

You get heart scales same way as you get the gems in it. You dig them up through the little cave things. And its random I'm pretty sure.

O_O
What did you do to your poor game?
Anyways, you can send it to Nintendo of Japan to fix it, or you could ask a pen pal in Japan to get a fix.
If you have neither option available, you are screwed.
But besides that, you should probably tell how you got the glitch. We need more info guys!

I just pressed some random buttons, and now my Pokemon's up in the air... It's CANDE, btw, if you wanted to know the nickname.
What I need is a guide, or something. How to set up your GTS, and what to do/what not to do.
Waaa~
I dont know if this will help but it was all I could find on the GTS trading...
------------
GTS Trading (4GTS)
------------
The GTS centre in Kotobuki Town, west of the pokemon centre. A lady will stop
unless you have the "red book". Once you go in, you will notice a globe. This
doesn't really apply to you, unless you live in Japan. You can chose the
location where you live. I don't think this effects anything though.
[Going online] (4GON)
Talk to the lady there, the second option explains how GTS works, in Japanese.
The third option is cancel. Chose to first option to go online.
After you save you game, you will escorted into the room. It will then ask you
to connect to GTS, press. You will "land" in a room, and automatically access
a computer.
- Storing pokemon:
The first option is to "store" a pokemon. It can be any pokemon from your party
or PC. Once you click on a pokemon a window comes up, the first option is
the summary screen. This a pokemon that you would be willing to trade for
another.
The second option takes you a another screen, with a orange box and a green box
on screen. A list of singular characters will come up. This is like the
Japanese alphabet. After you select a character, it should look like this.
-----------------------------------
| _ ______ |
| seeking: |x| |xxx | |
| [......] |x| |xxxx | |
| [......] |x| |xxxxx | |
| |x| |xxxx | |
| offering: |x| |xxxx | |
| [onix M] |x| |xxxxx | |
| [ lv.8] |x| |xxx | |
| - ------ |
| |
-----------------------------------
You may only "seek" for pokemon that you have seen in your pokedex, and offer
pokemon that you have. The lower box is the pokemon you are offering - gender
and level.
By checking what pokemon you are looking in your pokedex, and writing the
characters down, you should be able to "guess" the appropriate matching
characters. If you can't match the character to any corresponding heading. You
will have to scroll through them all until you find the pokemon you are looking
for.
It will then ask you to select gender. The first option is no preference. The
second option is male, the third - female.
After you select the gender of the pokemon, you can select the desired level
of the pokemon that you want. It ranges from "no preference", "under level 10",
"above level 10", all the way up to "level 100".
It will then ask you to confirm your "wanted pokemon". An animation will appear
of your pokeball flying into the air, just like in a regular trade.
Your pokemon will now be "left" on the GTS service. You can only leave one
pokemon here at a time. If another person has the pokemon that you want, a
trade will be conducted, you do not need to be there when it happens. You can
withdraw the pokemon at any time, if it has not been traded off.
If you click the top option after you have stored your pokemon, you can "check"
it. Press A once, and you will be given two options, the first one ask you if
you want to "withdraw" your pokemon, confirm this by pressing A again. The
second option is to return back to the original screen.
- Searching for pokemon:
The second option allows for you to search for pokemon, the layout looks like
this:
-----------------------------------
| |
| pokemon: |
| [......] [search] |
| |
| gender: |
| [xxxxx] |
| |
| level: [cancel] |
| [xxxxx] |
| |
-----------------------------------
Similarly to storing pokemon, you use the top option on the right, and you
will be greeted with the Japanese alphabet chart thing. Chose the pokemon like
you did for storing pokemon.
Then click on the search function. Once again you can only search for pokemon
that you have in your pokedex. After the search is completed, depending if
anyone has the pokemon you are searching for, they will pop up on the touch
screen, were you can select them.
Once you have selected them, you can view the pokemon that they want, and what
level they want it to be on. If you have that pokemon, press A, and select it
from your PC or party, and a trade will be made.

Ummm.... I actually dont know... I saw that info posted by another person elsewhere and it was on the GTS trading stuff... I figured that you guys might have been able to figure it out as you do use the GTS Wi-fi. I havent yet but I'll give you the link. Its from someone at Gamefaqs.

OK, now that that's cleared out of my system, you need the following things in real life.
1 ACTION REPLAY DS
1 NINTENDO DS
1 ACTION REPLAY CODE MANAGER
x NUMBER OF EVENT CODES (x = as many as you want)
1 POKEMON DIAMOND/PEARL
and the following things completed in the game:
1 NATIONAL DEX
BEAT THE ELITE 4
Then, using the Aruseus event code (go look at the ACTION REPLAY thread for more details! XD), do all the ACTION REPLAY stuff which is so boring and yawnable but I command you to....
"AHEM" After setting up your Action Replay, just boot up your game, load your game, HOLD L+R (those two shoulder buttons) and walk into a PokeMart. There, you'll see that weird guy that likes to stalk you at events. A Pokemon FedEx?
Anyways, talk to him, and you'll get the Heaven's Pipe, which is a smoking tool, and is advertised to give you seizures if you light it up and smoke it.
Now, once you have that, go to Tengan Mountain, and go all the way to where you battled Parukia or Diaruga. Then, an option will pop up, if you've gotten the National Dex. (I'll answer that question later, if anyone needs help on that)
Press the top option (which is YES) and watch as you become enchanted with smoking-I-mean-playing of the Heaven's Pipe. (Geez, they should have called it a flute or something...)
Then, you'll find that you can move again, and stairs will appear out of nowhere, with creepy Pokemon sounds BGM leading you. I RECOMMEND YOU SAVE NOW!
Then, Aruseus will battle you at the top, and you will get pwned. THE END.
Well, unless you have a MasterBall, or you have a party of Lv. 100. Then it's pwned. Hahahaha~
Or, if you just want to see how the last steps are performed, use these two links:
Crappy Quality Link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tc6hkh6lFSc)
Better Quality Link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6Hggw46e6s)
They'll both aid you on what to do.
Hope I helped (and made you want to kill me with my stupid jokes XD).

Yeah simply enough that's the solution.
Anyway, I have a question. What should I use my Master Ball on? I was gonna use it on Emuritto but I havent yet. I'm just wondering is there something more important to use it on.

There's not much else that's important except for Creselia (Kureseliia, I think?) which runs around like Emuritto.
The difference is that Creselia may be harder to catch. Its all up to you in the end.

Your game might be 'screwy', there's no point in the game where you need to be to save. Once you can access the save menu, you should be able to save your game.

I know what you're doing.
Chances are, you haven't erased your old game file.
To start a new game that you can save, you have to go all the way until you see the silhouette of Diaruga/Parukia. Basically, the title screen.
Then, you have to press Up+B+Select. If you don't really understand, it's the D-Pad Up.
An option will appear. Just select the top option, and presto! Your game is now erased.
Now you can save a new file over your old one.
I don't know why they changed the save function, so don't ask, mmk?

Yep, it's in Yosuga City. Somewhere maybe in Beauty Park, me thinks.
You do have to have beaten the E4, or *completing the game* as they say it. You also need a spare spot, like 5 Pokemon instead of 6.
The Moss Rock and the Ice Rock are not obtainable as well. You need to go to Route 217, near the Ice town which name eludes me for some reason, and battle near the rock. Same strategy with the Moss Rock, except you need to go to Hakutai Forest.

Super Rod is located so late in the game... After you beat the Elite Four and become Champion you will have access to the North-Eastern island. You will find Super Rod in the first town you visit there, called "Fighting Area". There is a fisherman at the north exit of the town and after you visit the Battle Tower, the people blocking the way will move and you will be able to talk to him and receive the Super Rod!

Thanks, !!**Alex**!!. I found unown.
I found a trick that really works just in case anybody asks how to instantly catch a pokemon. As soon as you make the selection to throw a ball at a pokemon, keep pressing the poke ball picture on the bottom screen as if it were a button or something. If you keep pressing without stopping the poke/great/ultra ball will shake twice and that is when you should keep pressing with two fingers. I always do that on wild pokemon. I hope I helped.

Yeah, you can do that instead of using a WiFi USB :P
Problem is, some people don't have a wireless router, so they have to use a concentrated one.
I think you can trade with random people, except you have to go to a different place to do so.
Battling I'm not so sure. :(

No, names will be changed. They just havent released any more English names lately apart from the Chatot. Most of them will have an English name once the game comes out in April.

Supposedly you just put your game in such as emeralad, into the gba slot on your DS and go to Pal Park, but i think it transfers so you loose those pokemon on your emerald version.

First, you can't trade DP<--->RSEFRLGE, you transfer, so you can't get the Pokemon back.
Second, no, just insert the GBA game into the slot. But you need the Nat. Dex to get to Pal Park.

I've just got my Pokemon Mansion working. I'm not certain on this but I believe you may need National Dex before being allowed to get the Mansion's wild Pokemon to vary. Because I remember attempting the Mansion trick before the E4, to no effect. The guy never walked out of the room.
Now, after E4, the guy on the left walks out and the guy on the right tells you which Pokemon that is in the field behind the Mansion. Even then, they arent very common. I had Eevee yesterday and Usohachi today. You will usually find the Pichu/Mukkubird/Korotokku etc in the field.

Um, if I understand you right, then it is all of the Pokemon in your party. You can trade six Pokemon in a day, and while I haven't tested this feature yet, I think the prompt will stop you from trading all six at one time. Otherwise, hello there Mr. Freezing Man. How can I help you today?
And no, once you transfer the Pokemon into the game, they're stuck in the DS cartridge, and they will never go home again. You mean mean man, you.

Well, there are pokemon that will most likely show up instead of them(I think Munchlax is pretty rare), gotta check up Serebii on what pokemon the trees have...
EDIT: All right, seems like Munchlax IS rare, and possibly is only near the power plant, and I would guess that Cherinbo is pretty rare, too. (I do not have D/P.)

Double posting is bad. :( Read the rules.
Aside from that, I don't really know what you mean. Do you mean Action Replay DS? If so, then you need:
1 DS / Lite
1 ARDS (Action Replay DS)
1 Pokemon Diamond / Pearl (JAP Version)
1 USB Cable (comes included)
1 Pokemon Diamond/Pearl XML file (GameSpot, or maybe at the code thread)
and
(optional) 1/2 Guy/Girls that will laugh at your Pokemon/Spelling skills/etc.
You need to have the XML file into your ARDS after setting up all the yada yada, and transfer it to your ARDS. Instructions should be in your manual, which I advise to read at all times.
Then, just do the instructions in the AR, and go play...
... go in the PokeMart, talk to the green guy, do whatever event you want to do (you have to beat the Elite 4 at least, for Darkrai you have to cure the boy as well) and bravo, you got the Pokemon.
Hope I helped, and I'll answer the other question while I'm at it:
Yes, you can trade your Pokemon Diamond/Pearl US and JP, because they are region-free, however, you need two DS's.
World Trading Center (I forget the name) is for global trading, not for people to trade to themselves, without running the risk of the Pokemon being taken :(
Anyways, hope I helped you with your questions, and toodle-oo~

I'm pretty sure you need the National Dex. What I found was that before the E4, the Pokemon Mansion didnt seem to work. After becoming Champion and receiving National Dex, I found that the Mansion was working and from then on I have been receiving different Pokemon each day.
Also with the free Eevee, you may find that you are only given one after the E4 and in Yosuga City.

Japanese : No.
They do variate from the usual DS cartridges by adding a black border with the Nintendo DS game cartridge (located on the top of usual DS cartridges) instead of the usual white. Nothing else, because it's probably too time-consuming to make pearl/diamond cartridges, especially when you have to make them very small :(

Haven't gotten the game yet so this is a simple one i can't look up myself. When a poke has Misuse as an ability does it mean it can hold an item but it doesn't work or it can't hold an item at all.
Example...
Mimiroppu : Toxic/Burn Orb
Timid <+Spd / -Att>
'Misuse' - <Cannot use Held Items>
* Heal Wish
* Sneak
* Agility
* Baton Pass
Would this mean my poke wouldn't get the Burn/Toxic from the item and then he could switch it <SNEAK> to the other poke and he would get the status effect? Or can he not equip an item at all?

But not all item effects can be negated with Misuse, like the Macho Brace, Kuroi Tekkyuu etc
Although this is the most used Mimilop tactic (I've fought at least 2 people with this build... maybe more), it's unique to Mimilop, and is the most effective IMO.

You know how if you have a fr/lg/r/s/e cartridge in your game and you go to a certain place and the pokemon is there i.e. With lg cartridge in the game, you can find a magby in hard mountain. Can you do that with an english cartridge and a japanese pearl game??

I didn't try it out myself, but it's been said not to work.
So you need an English game if you want to transfer the Pokémon from an English cartridge.

Do the Japanese Pokemon games come in different colored cartridges like the English ones do? If so, are the DS game cards light blue and pink for Diamond and Pearl?

No, they just have the color DS cards usually have.
My Diamond is dark grey.

As with all games, there are certain Pokémon (http://www.serebii.net/diamondpearl/exclusives.shtml) exclusive to either one or the other. Another difference is that in Diamond, you get Dialga, and in Pearl, you get Palkia. Idk about any other differences tho...

So be sure to check the Safari Zone everyday, because you may just be lucky on a particular day.

I'll answer your questions :D
1- You cannot transfer pokemon, but you can get the pokemon that require a cartridge to be inserted to be seen regardless
2- No
Now, im adressing this to both of the questions, a jp game cannot read an english game when you actually have to pick which pokemon you want in vice versa
EDIT: First post on page 10 (not that amazing)

Well, on the list that I showed you, depending on which Pokémon you like more, you should choose the version with those Pokémon! Also, the starters are pretty evenly matched (or they say they are ;D)and therefore are very equal. You probably wont be using much of them late-game anyway! :3

How does PorygonZ's abiltiy "Adaptive" work? It supposedly gives you an extra damage if using a move with the same type as it. (Sounds like STAB) But how much does it raise?

fatpappa, that whole second post was spam.
You shouldn't mini-mod either, Shiny Umbreon.
Adaptitive boosts any move that matches PorygonZ's type by 50%. So with Adaptive and STAB, PorygonZ's Normal attacks are doubled in power.

Well, in the JAP version, there were glitches galore! Like being able to get Sheimi, Areuseus, and Darkrai all in the original game. But Im pretty sure by the time the game is Americanized, theyll have removed all that by then. Even JAP versions you buy now will probably have glitches removed...

Just some more questions about that.
1-How is Silk Scarf's bonus applied. Is it added, too? (210%) Or it works by multiplying x1.1 ?
Correct me if the bonus isn't 10%.
2-How much does the Concentration Band raises physical moves' power? How it works together with STAB? (Again, multiplying or adding?)

Since when can you get Areuseus? Even if you use the E4 glitch its impossible without cheats since you have to go above tengan mountain. Also the glitches are already removed from the jap games I preordered diamond and that had the glitches bought pearl in november and glitches were removed.
Ya im just asking if there are any important clues I should learn before I go off and buy dimond or perl like any stupid glitches I should hear about anything about the pokemon
There arent really glitches that you should worry about really. As long as you know what you are doing if you do decide to use the E4 glitch (got stuck in black 3 times, had to restart each time).
About the pokemon I would suggest getting Murkrow or Misdrevous depending on your version Sphinx (electric looking dog) is a good one to catch early in the game also. Don't worry about catching Buizel he sucks later in game. As for starters go for the grass one, he is the best overall. Penguin is to slow to hit anything, Fire monkey is good for being one of the three fire people you can get. Enough with my splurge.

Poison Spikes works just like regular Spikes correct. The only difference is the that <Steel> is immune instead of <Flying>.
That means the rest is set damage so all those 1/2 damage resistances to <Poison> doesn't matter right?
