~Hoenn’s Struggle~
Plot
Some time during his journey to become a Pokémon Master, Pokémon Trainer extraordinaire, Ash Ketchum, disappeared from the face of the Earth. He left no trace of his final whereabouts, no body to be identified with; practically no evidence of his existence. His long time friends and travelling companions were absent from his side at the time of the disappearance. They too, like the rest of the world, had no clue what happened to Ash. No one knew how far he’d gotten in completing his dream before he vanished. It was as if he fell right off the planet’s surface.
About a year following the mysterious disappearance, a mighty Trainer who went by the name Achu, defeated Hoenn’s Elite Four and subsequently overcame the challenge of Hoenn’s running Champion. At the young age of thirteen, he earned the title of League Champion and became the strongest Trainer the region had to offer. Many challenges came his way but none strong enough to dethrone him.
As he grew through adolescence, he steadily became more and more aware of the resources he had at his disposal as champion. By the time he turned fifteen, he had learnt the absolute strength of the League’s capabilities. But no one could’ve predicted the evils he would commit with this knowledge.
On one cold night, the island city of Mossdeep was raided by thousands of dark assailants yielding the League’s slogan on the shoulders of their uniforms. Even with the Gym Leader aiding the united forces of Mossdeep City, the town was easily overthrown. The League was just too powerful. Various members of the organization sailed in from Ever Grand City to settle down in their acquired territory. Those of the Mossdeep’s defeated citizens that refused to join the League’s campaign were killed, if not forced to serve League members as slaves. At the centre of the town a castle was built to honour the victory. A red flag was lifted at its top, declaring that the town officially belonged to the League.
The takeover didn’t stop there however. Sootopolis City was next to be conquered by the League, then Lilycove, then Fortree…
One by one the cities and towns were all overpowered. Within the space of three months, the League had taken over the entire Hoenn region. The victims were stripped of most human rights. They weren’t even allowed to keep Pokémon anymore. The only jobs available to them were those of serving League members, which they hardly got paid for, while their children weren’t allowed to go to school. The Anti-League population suffered and endured for over six long, hard years before Kanto finally found the sense to intervene.
Three gigantic sea cruisers crammed Kanto’s strongest fighters from all over the region and set sail for Petalburg City’s dock. Trainers, Magicians, Swordsmen, Fighters, Archers, and all other combat specialists that could be summoned had boarded the ships. The mission was to overthrow Achu’s rule, defeating the League Forces and ultimately freeing the people of Hoenn.
The large size of the invading ships however, proved to work against them. Before they could even reach Petalburg’s dock, the enemy had detected them. Hundreds of League Assailants invaded the ships from the skies using their Pokémon. Naturally, the crews tried to fight back, but in the end, all three ships were destroyed, sinking to the bottom of the sea with the hopes of saving Hoenn. All boarders appeared to be dead and so the League Forces retreated.
Unbeknownst to them, a handful of the fighters had survived the onslaught. The considerably fewer survivors managed to swim to a vacant coastline located a lengthy distance from Rustboro City. The deaths of the many allies who drowned in the shipwrecks only fuelled the survivors’ passion to complete the mission. For most of them, it was no longer just about Achu or the freedom of the Hoenn people. It had become personal. It was about revenge.
~*~*~*~
The RP begins at the shoreline where the survivors regroup. Your character’s mission, as one of the survivors, is to somehow complete the original assignment of setting Hoenn free, and derive a method to defeat Achu in the process.
There are five categories your character can be in:
(1). Swordsman: equip blade-based weapons. They are physically strong. You can use any type of sword you wish.
(2). White Magician: equip staves, use defensive and aid type of magic, i.e. cure, barriers
(3). Black Magician: equip staves, use offensive type of magic; magic that aims to harm the enemy, i.e. elemental spells.
(4). Archer: use weapons that fire at the enemy, i.e. Bow And Arrow, Bowgun
(5). Fighters: use accessories that enhance their strength, i.e. Claw-Gloves, Gauntlets.
(6). Trainers: use Pokémon.
Every character is allowed only one Pokémon with the exception of Trainers who may have four. Excluding Legendaries, Pokémon selected can be of any type, level and at any stage of their evolution tree. To promote variance, I’m putting a maximum of two players to each category. This goes to say, that if somebody has already taken the spot for White Magician, for example, another player may still be a White Magician if they wish to. But once two White Magician spots have been taken, no more can be signed up for.
Also, if you have an idea for a category that hasn’t been listed, feel free to include it in your Sign-Up. If I think it’s acceptable then I’ll let you use it. Otherwise, you’ll have to use one of the six given above. General RP rules apply (no godmodding, power playing, spamming, e.t.c.).

Name: Wrang Saando
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Height: 177 cm / 5’10”
Appearance
Wrang has red locks of hair that fall to the sides of his face, their ends resting about his shoulders. His dark brown eyes reflect his fiery ambition to come out of every battle not only alive, but on top. Overall, he has a slim figure. His arms and torso are lightly toned with muscle. What his combat gear lacks in heavy defence, it makes up for in comfort. Parallel blue lines run down the outer length of his white slacks. He wears a white torso over his chest and a pair of white canvas shoes. The uniform allows him easy movement and seeing as his main offence consists of speedy kicks, it suits him well. His fists are clad in blue fingerless gloves; the gloves of a fighter.

Pic 2 (http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d178/MacToxic/thimage873.jpg)
(Check out my avatar for a chibi version =)
Personality
Wrang had always been a hardworking lad, trained to think like a soldier in his 2 years of military service for Viridian. He has a lot of experience in formulating plans and learnt how to survive in many crucial situations. This intelligence, coupled with his physical strengths, make him a lethal force on the battlefield. Sometimes, his battle-like tendencies flow into his personal life, making him appear aggressive and bossy to people. This rarely happens however, as he is pretty confident in his ability to adapt to any social situation. When there isn’t an urgent mission at hand, having fun and hanging out with friends can never hurt.
History
The first twelve years of Wrang’s life were spent in Hoenn’s Mauville City. The town was peaceful then and he had many friends, including the Gym Leader, Wattson, who taught him practically everything he knows about Pokémon Battles. When word had come that the League had taken over the eastern towns in Hoenn, many of the families in Mauville decided to evacuate before the trouble reached their town. Like others, Wrang’s family was quick to decide it was best to leave. Wattson refused to abandon his city and stayed to fight to the end. The day of departure was the last time Wrang saw his best friend and mentor.
Category: Swordsman
Weapon: Gunblade (Like Squall’s from FFVIII =)
Pokémon: Charizard
RP Sample: (I might as well put one just to make the Sign-Up look complete).
Peace was restored as the dark mist of death vanished into air, taking with it all the evidence that the murderous kitten ever lived. Thankfully, the enemy was disposed of before it could let loose a devastating attack on his Angel. Sagi walked over the calmed field, collecting Omu and his weapon off the ground as he did so. Questions and doubts began to raid his mind once again, but he did his best not to dwell in his head at such a moment.
Out of the rustling bush beside him came another kitten, startling him as it leaped out from its hiding spot. Sagi was tempted to run over and give it a good punt, but he stopped himself when he saw it run happily to Simon. It must’ve been his pet. Good for him, Sagi thought, unsure of whether he would be able to trust any cat again after what took place seconds before. Together, the group walked back to the cafeteria and found a fellow student standing there. Sagi knew her name was Yukishiro Haruhi, but never had the pleasure of actually speaking to her. He gave her a weak smile and a wave before turning back to answer Simon's question.
“I asked myself the same thing,” he started. Then he turned to Felix. “Do you think the cat was after your Angel specifically or was it merely most convenient seeing as Elyon was the closest to where it crashed into back at the caf?”
Sagi looked to the ground momentarily with crossed arms while humming softly to himself in thought. “As for the kitten,” he spoke up after a while. “I wouldn’t miss it in the least and I’m sure it wouldn’t have missed any of our Angels either. I must admit, its appearance isn’t the only extraordinary thing that I’ve witnessed lately. Call me crazy, but I’ve been having this re-occurring dream. And I think the cat might be connected to it…”

Most likely, the RP will begin once at least six members have joined. Late Sign-Ups will still be considered once it has started.

IC:
Name: Cody
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Height: 6'2"
Appearance: Cody is a tall, toned boy who has blue eyes and silver spiked hair and is fairly good-looking. He is seen wearing a blue street jacket with 2 white stripes going horizontal near the top of the sleeves. Under this he wears a white thin shirt. With this, he wears dark blue jeans that are a bit torn up with a chain held on his brown belt to help keep his wallet in his pocket. On his feet he wears short white sneakers with blue stripes going up on the sides of the shoes. He also tends to where cool blue sunglasses and a cool feathered blue hat with a white stripe going across it. He wears these to help hide his identity
Personality: Cody is usually cool, calm and collected. Not even emminent danger of the worst kind can shake his reserve. He is not easily shaken or disturbed by the actions of others. This composed character rarely loses his self control or his temper. However, since he is laid back it is unsure where his loyality may truly lie as he tends to go with the flow of things making him much of an enigma.
History: Cody is from Kotobuki City, a city in Shin'ou. During his time there he was able to defeat all eight Gym Leaders and in fact beat it's Elite Four, but he didn't defeat the reigning champion and was never given the title of League Champ. However, Cody has been recognized as a trainer of potiental greatness as it is not an easy feat to go up against the Elite Four and obtained a position in the Pokemon League Committee of Shin'ou. However, his stay in Shin'ou after this was very brief as the new added region decided to take action on to Hoenn. The only purpose for this is to show that Shin'ou is a strong country as well and winning this war will help in showing this. Sent as a sort of third-party, the foreign Cool Trainer finds himself in the shorelines of Hoenn, he will do whatever it takes to make his country proud.

Glacia / Maiden - Female - Cody found Maiden near Ice Rock, it seemed abondon and alone, during a harsh battle in a terrible snow storm, Maiden was finally caught. Maiden the Glacia is the most rare of its kind, not only is it female but it is a shiny Glacia. Maiden is a very mysterious Pokemon that isn't very social and shows little to no emotion even in battle. The Pokemon though tends to love its trainer much and is noted that it will do anything for it's Trainer and his praise.
Roleplay Example:
The example is from my RPG, Pokemon II:
It's a hot summer day and school is out, in the tropical island of Cinnabar what's a better summer activity than surfing? That's right, surfing season is now in session. Of course, difference in seasons has never stopped this young trainer from hitting the waves with his board before.
Brad is surfing on a wave that is at least 10 feet. Pretty big, and he is surfing it with a big smile on his face as other surfers are losing balance and falling in the ocean. Accompaning the young surfer is a tough Wartortle who is standing at the front of the surfboard enjoying the sport as well.
After surfing the high wave, Brad makes it safely to the shoreline where he is greeted by plenty of girls who seem to be big fans of his.
"Ooo!!! You were wonderful!" One shouts.
"You're so dreamy, can I surf with you?" Another asks.
The swarm of girls crowd Brad without hesitation, trying to be at his side.
"Ladies please, one at a time." Brad laughs.
Just then an announcement can be heard over a loudspeaker coming from a fat man with a mustache who at his side is a young skinny surfer who seems to be lost in his own little world and a middle aged man who seems to be some sort of judge.
"Wow! Wasn't that a high tide?" shouts The fatman.
The crowd on the beach goes crazy. Other surfers who fell in the water can be seen climbing out of the ocean in shame, some even covered in seaweed.
"Well, who will reign surpreme in the Surf's Up Contest? Let's leave it to our judges and of course our viewing audience!" The fatman explains.
The crowd goes estatic.
"Well" starts the middle-aged man,
"All of them seem pretty good but I have to give it to contestant Brad for giving a splendid surf over the last wave. It was flawless" He explains.
He turns to the other judge who is the oblivious skinny man. He looks around and points to himself and then smiles,
"Oh, yeah,... right..." He says as if he completely forgot about the surfing contest.
"Umm, I'll have to agree on... everything Greg said... totally man... totally..." He says moving his hands around acting cool.
"Well there you have it Wave fans! Surfer Brad wins the tournament!" The fatman yells in excitment.
The crowd goes crazy. Brad makes it up to the man where he shakeshands and receives a trophy.
"Any words you would like to say?" The fat man asks.
Brad nodded and was handed the microphone.
"Yeah! I would like to thank all of my fans out there who cheered me on and of course my family and friends! Thank you all!" Brad shouts happily.
The crowd goes crazy and a storm of girls come chasing after him. After much talking and autographs, pictures and such, Brad finally is able to leave and make it home.
He throws his trophy on his bed and leans his board on the wall. There can be seen a shelf full of Trophies for surfing, this seems to not be the first time he won such a contest.
He climbs out of a window and ontop of his roof and sits as he now watches the late afternoon sun setting.
Brad seems not so thrilled winning. He looks around and sees plenty of tourists flooding the streets and beaches, not a single Trainer though.
"Man, if only I became more top game especially for Pokemon..." He thinks out loud.
He remembers when he was younger, how Cinnabar used to be an Island of Pokemon Trainers and how Blaine used to be the toughest Gym Leader out there. Now its all gone. If only something big happened in this dull island, maybe then will Trainers flock towards this little island bring it back to life.
Brad thinks this all in his mind with his Wartortle at his side looking over the twilight sky as well..

Shou walked down the streets of the small town. Humans and other creatures were scurrying about their business. Selling their items. Shouts of Bargains entered his ears. But Shou continued on. He was not interested in foolish items. He was a Demon. Of human appearance, yes, and he was always like that. He needed not lesser nutrients. His white Cloak and hood appeared not to be touched by the dirt and filth of the street. His face was soft in appearance and comforting. He seemed kind enough, his baritone voice kindly refusing all the offers handed to him. Thanking the shop keepers for their kindness and all.
Then, a small child ran into Shou and fell over. Shou kneeled down to pick the child from the street floor. The smile and soft features were still on his face. But the eyes had changed tone into a darker, crueler, colder yet the eyes burning with rage. The Childs happy face turned to that of horror and ran off like he had seen a ghost.
The villagers looked oddly at Shou, and Shou took his hood off of his head, his face was back to normal, kind and comforting. The villagers seeing the face saw nothing wrong, and thus came to the conclusion that the child had probably imagined something. Life returned to normal.
For the moment, he will allow the lesser filth to run free in the lands of Ordek. But soon, Shou will claim his true title, Kurayami no Shou, so as to declare dominance over the living and the dead alike. Control the past and the present and thus dominate the Future with the choking alliance of Darkness and Fire.

Name: Rataki Emera
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Appearance: Rataki is about 5' 7" in height with a slender build and powerful arm muscles. Her straight, medium length hair is a dark dirty-blond color and often a little messy. Her sharp, slightly slanted eyes are deep blue-grey with a single golden speck in the right one. Around her neck is a thin black cord with a clip on the end that holds Risho's Pokeball. Tied around her head is an orange headband with a shooting four-point star (like that on the end of Rentoraa's tail) printed on it. She wears a black t-shirt with the same star on the top right front and two R's on either side of an arrow printed in blue with silver streaks on the back along with black wristbands on both wrists. Her flaring jeans are faded with a sparsely decorated brown belt. On her back is a fairly simple quiver filled with arrows an elegant brown bow.
Personality: Rataki is not exactly a very friendly person. She interacts well with others and doesn't mind meeting people, but she's a bit of a loner and prefers to sit and think rather than join in conversations. She's clever and will offer her opinion or knowledge when needed or just when she feels like it. One might go so far as to say she sometimes has a split personality because she can go from a rather cold, quiet, loner, to a decently talkative, laughing, fairly social girl.
In truth, her personality depends on the situation and the life of a trainer means she spends more time with her companion Pokemon than she does with other people. She's calm and it is very hard to get under her skin, much like her Rentoraa, Risho, who is who she talks to the most.
History: Rataki was born in Shinou and lived there most of her childhood. Her mother was a breeder and her father worked in an office so she spent much of her time either with Pokemon or around boring (in her opinion) office workers.
When she was five, her father took her to a dojo that taught both humans and Pokemon to enhance their skills. One of the skills taught to humans was archery which she was instantly fascinated with. She begged her mother and father to let her learn how to use a bow and when she was seven they finally agreed though she didn't get any serious training until she was ten.
On the morning of her tenth birthday her mother gave her a baby Korinku which she promptly named Ri Ri. On the same day, her father gave her the chance to do some serious training at the dojo and she took it. After half a year of training at the dojo and practicing her skills as a trainer with Ri Ri, she left her home town and began her journey in Shinou.
She continued her bow training while she traveled though she wished dearly for another chance like the half a year of training she had had in the dojo. When she came upon another dojo she joined and continued her training. By that time she was eleven. At age twelve she left the dojo and moved to Kanto to join one of it's famous archery training centers. Soon after that, Ri Ri evolved into a Rukushio and Rataki changed his name to Rish Rish.
Rish Rish evolved into Rentoraa when Rataki was thirteen and was renamed Risho by request. When Rataki was fifteen she was asked to join a force that was being sent to Hoenn to defeat Achu and the League and she was more than glad to agree. Though she had left the dojo when she was fourteen to pursue the life of a trainer, she wished to do something with the skills she had learned and this was her chance.

RP Sample: (From A Hero's Curse)Teria placed her hand against the rough wall of her house. The red brick of the wall gave her a feeling of comfort. She closed her dark eyes and laid her forehead against the stone. It was cool and for a moment she forgot about her worries. The air around her was clear and chilly and the only sound was the soft rustle of leaves blown about by the wind.
A sudden surge of pain broke her peaceful mood. Her muscles twitched as she lifted her head and opened her eyes. How long was she going to have to fight this? How many more times would she have to feel pain and know that this time, she might not be able to fight it off.
It had only been about half a month since Ino's death. Two and a half weeks to be precise. It had been very hard keeping herself alive during that time. She had watched as people around her succumb to the curse laid upon all of them. Her city had been severely damaged by three who had gone on rampages and people now lived in fear of it happening again. She wondered vaguely if there were others left besides her. Probably, she thought to herself, I can't be the only one who managed to fight off the curse. There must be others like me. Perhaps here, in this city. It's unlikely, but I can't simply give up. I really ought to look for them. How hard could it be to find them?
She turned from her house and sighed. Her parents and two sisters were in the city hiding in one of the shelters. They knew about her Abilities and hadn't argued when she said she wasn't going with them. They knew it was for the best though it was very hard to say goodbye to them. She knew perfectly well that all of them never thought they would see her again and she felt the same way. Eventually she would be caught by an attack when she couldn't fight it off and it would kill her. She only hoped she wouldn't be one of those to go on a rampage. On the other hand, there was always the chance that there was a way to end the curse. Well, if there was, she'd never find it out here. She had to find others with Abilities that had survived. They'd have a much better chance of finding a cure if there were lots of them than only one. That was surely the best option.
Teria nodded silently to herself. She removed her hand from the side of her home and stepped back, surveying it sadly. Would this be the last time she saw it? She hoped not. With another sigh she closed her eyes and leapt into the air. Two wings sprouted from her back and carried her into the sky.

Ooooh, nice RP. Do you mind if I join?
Name: Kairin Elvannis (People call her 'Kuro', or sometimes 'Black Vampire', because of her appearance.)
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Appearance: Kuro has long silver hair that she wears down. Her eyes are like a cat's; slitted and yellow. Her ears seem to be slightly pointed, and her canine teeth look fang-like. Her clothes are black (long-sleeve shirt, long pants, and shoes) and she wears brown leather shoulder-armor. She also has leather armor on her knees, like kneepads. She has a tall, slim frame, also.
Personality: Kuro has an unpredictable, violent personality. She is almost the first one to jump into battle. She doesn't like other people much, but she will tolerate them. Kuro also seems to think that her opinion is the right one, usually making others think that she's a control-freak. She has a pretty decent temper, but once she gets mad, it's like a nuke went off. Okay, not that bad... When in a fight, Kuro always has to have the finishing move, even if it was a teammate's battle. She is also very sarcastic.
History: Kuro was born in a far-off region, not commonly known to many people. Her father was the gym leader of her town, and there was not a single trainer who carried his badge. She had watched her father train her brother to be a champion, but Kuro was always pushed aside, as she was too weak for her father. Kuro had decided that she would become stronger than both her father and her brother, both as a trainer and a fighter. Her Fukamaru, Rukai, had seen her training day and night to become a better assassin than her brother. One day, Rukai broke out of his Pokeball while Kuro was passed out (not sleeping), and had gone to train by himself. When Kuro woke up, Rukai was fighting a Rentoraa, but Rukai was no longer a Fukamaru, but a Gabaito. Rukai had the upper hand, being a ground/dragon type against an electric, but Rukai was worn out. Kuro rushed over to Rukai's side and poisoned the Rentoraa (not deadly poison, just like a 'poisonpowder' type poison.), and Rukai used a powerful Takedown. From that day on, Rukai and Kuro trained side-by-side, and are currently trying to get strong enough to beat Kuro's father and brother.
Category: Assassin? <Poisons, daggers, hand-to-hand.>
Weapon: Kuro has a variety of throwing daggers in a belt at her waist, along with a metal gauntlet on her left arm. <Her left and right arms are equal.>
Pokémon: Kaburaisu ~ Nicknamed 'Rukai.'
Rukai possesses the nearly the same insanity that his trainer does. He will take command without question, unless it's to kill or seriously wound someone. He doesn't like Pokemon that are much weaker than him, so he attacks them before they know what to do. This habit is actually despised by Kuro, as she will only fight when needed.
RP Sample: Oh, you should know by now. :D

Name: Ichigo Kirameki
Age: 13
Gender: Female
Personality: Ichigo is one of those people that can turn the world upside-down with a small hint of a smile, grin, smirk, or just her lips turned upward in a happy position. She's blindly optimistic and never takes a chance to make the scenario more clement, more sunny. Ichigo is dubbed as the "Bawling Baby," or in a manifested definition "A cry baby," how she alleged that name, was that in every doleful or inadequate moment, she does one simple thing, she crys her heart out. One may see this annoying, but Ichigo will particulary barricade the tears herself, not for any known reason. She's upbeat and perky, and tries to make the best of the situation, another recitation, if any someone of something is abiding to be rapacious to her, she'll also lament over the situation. In precise, Ichigo is hyper, acts like a toddler, is buoyant, and not aghast to bellow. Her own language, is definately her eccentric deameanor, where she says -chan at the end of everyones names, including boys, which mentions her character.
Due to her hyenic nature, you could easily conclude that Ichigo loves to laugh, a chuckle, or giggle and can fit into her personality too. Mostly, she loves to laugh at her own little jokes and quirks, which don't amuse anyone but her, then people look at her as odd and queer. Ichigo can be identified as "A 4 year old in a 13 year old's body," and many people recognize her as that.
To Ichigo, life is a game that must be always of fresh moves and continuous entertainment, free of routine. Changing horses in the middle of the stream is another small quirk for Ichigo, which makes decision making, and sticking to a decision, particularly hard for her. Ichigo is incredibly imaginative, thinking of new ideas almost all of her time, but concentrates on the good stuff in life. Only thinking of optimistic things, you could address her as a "Goody goody."
When in battle, Ichigo can be addressed as the complete opposite, determined, strong, but some vague quirks of when she's in battle is thinking before she acts, she scarcely stops to logically analyze the data before her. In general, she just takes swings with her sword and pray that it hits, or even scratches the opponent.
Description: Ichigo is rather short for her age, and seems the least bit imtimidating. She has contrasting scarlett hair that seems to be ringletted into ample curls, with a coral ribbon ever-so-slightly previaling on the apical of her head. Ichigo's viridian eyes seem to hold a lot of optimism inside them, as they are glowing every minute. Ichigo has her army of freckles carefully residing under her eyes and as we go on there are two dimples on Ichigo's cheeks that seems to look asinine when she beams at you. Ichigo wears a plain, alabaster shirt with a fuchsia tie with strawberries-yes, strawberries. She wears jeans that are to distant for her, but she prefers it that way, especially if her height is prolonged when she wears her waraji.
On her back resides Ichigo's sword, "Tsuki," or more common "Moon." Tsuki isn't proclaimed a normal sword, maybe it even isn't a sword. The way it isn't that Ichigo's "sword," looks particulary like a club, one that's gigantic, an onyx steel color, and up-ward spikes sticking out of it, it's said to be asinine, but the real mystery is, how can a delicate girl carry a 50-pound sword?
Weapon: Sword - Club {Description Above}, Black-fingerless gloves with a metal plate stuck on it; the weapon part is that it enables Ichigo to creates craters with her arms, and leg warmers that are the same.
History: Ichigo was born in Shinou, into a long line of trainers, and resided in Hakutai city, she was procliamed a trainer by the age of 8, a less than average age of when a trainer recieves her pokemon. She recieved one from her mother, a Pinpuku, and vowed to only train her and Híme, her Pinpuku only. To tell the truth, she had no intention of becoming champion, she wanted to just explore the cities of Shinou.
When she was pacing along the path of a mysterious woods, there she saw an old man, who was short in height, had dull, grey hair, and seemed weak. The good person she is, she asked for help but was declined as he was just viewing the scenery then, her nature caught up with her and she nagged to him.
"Well, you look like a helpless old man, so I tried to save you but noooo, you just were viewing," at that vantage she held up her fingers in a bunny-way and bent them, "the scenery of a forest with JUST TREES!" she roared exactly in that way, her melodic voice becoming the least bit scary.
The old man admired Ichigo's sense and decided to take her up on an offer, to teach her in the samurai art. Ichigo agreed as fast as a hummingbird fluttered it wings and soon trained with him. She developed her own sword style usuing a club, and soon was on her way again. When she recieved the new about Achu, she once again, right away agreed, but she thought before she acted, once again.
Pokemon:
{& &.// h im e ♥} Híme - Female - Pinpuku
Treated like a princess; Híme is definately spoiled by her trainer, not just in one way, Ichigo forlongs to teach Híme many other moves other than she is supposed to learn. Pinpuku, is similar to her trainer, optimistic, a bawling baby, they are just peas in a pod. Híme may not be the strongest pokemon, but she has a heart, and will do anything to save her trainer. Híme was given to Ichigo as a present from her mother when she was the tender age of eight and still carries her around with her to this day.
RP Sample:
I walked silently along the side of my teammates. I mentally noted that the rock used to make the road was fairly old. I turned to look at my teammates as they talked between one another. Ugh, how I loathed their so called "togetherness." I focused on the female with blond hair and blue eyes. Her name is Shigeko, and I really think it suits her. Her name means luxuriant. That is exactly what she is. And Isuma, about as intelligent as a genius, and he is courageous; a warrior.
My eyes fixed my eyes on Shigeko. Her hair is shiny and soft-looking because of the expensive shampoo she uses. I held up a strand of my own hair. Chesnut brown . . . but it looked fairly soft and shiny. I looked over at Shigeko again and caught her attention. “What do you want!” she asked with a fairly annoyed tone. I didn’t reply. I simply glared at her for a second before turning away. This was too much. They’re already driving me crazy. I looked up at the sky. There wasn’t a cloud to be seen in the sky. I hated when it was like this.
I rubbed my temples as Isuma continued to talk about nothing and everything at the same time. I don’t think he minded that he was only talking to hear himself talk. Perhaps he didn’t notice that he was. Either way, I really wished he would shut up. I walked the streets silently along my teammates. They began to make idle chitchat with one another, and I soon lost interest in them. I pulled a book out of my kunai patch and began to concentrate deeply on the words written on the page. “Hey, Nanashi! Listen to me when I’m talking to you!”
“Huh?”
“Kuso! I said we should look for a hotel!”
“I agree . . .” She smiled as we finally agreed on something. I, of course, had the pleasure of finding a hotel. I spotted an akuba. I gulped as I walked up to her. This would be the first time in a long time that I had to socialize with some one out of our village that was not an enemy. “Konichiwa . . .”
“Konichiwa!” she said rather cheerfully. I took a second look at her. She was really short; only about 5’1”. I looked at her face and noticed that she had a lot of wrinkles. I tried to avoid eye contact, but I couldn’t help myself. I could see such kindness and warmth.
“Gomen, akuba . . . do you know where I can find the nearest hotel?”
“Of course! It’s about four blocks from here. You’ll know it when you see it,” she answered with a smile. I gave an awkward smile and quickly thanked her. I liked that. She was kind to me, but I don’t think I was ready for that yet. I mean . . . I wasn’t used to that. It was awkward, and I almost didn’t like it. I found Shigeko and Isuma standing in front of the hotel.
“Hey! Nanashi! We found a hotel! Isn’t that great!” Isuma shouted excitedly. My left eyebrow began to twitch. Shigeko laughed at me. She knew what I was thinking. I had to go through all that when the found the hotel! I resisted the urge to strangle them as I pushed past them.
“Hurry up. We better get our rooms.” That was all I said. I needed to keep my calm demeanor. Shigeko smirked as she and Isuma walked into the hotel with me. I glared at Shigeko as I pulled out my wallet. I had to pay for the rooms! Shigeko said that she wanted all of us to have separate rooms. She also said she wanted her room under her name. I forcefully smiled as I tried to keep from yelling. I retreated to my room as soon as soon as the other two had left. I was really tired for some reason. I closed my eyes and quickly fell into a restless sleep. For now - all of us were anticipating on thing; the Chuunin Exams.

Name: Danne Roverelle
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Appearance: Danne has skin of bottle-milk white and a nose that takes on the shape of a tiny garlic bud, fairly smaller than other 16 year-olds. Her long, saddle brown hair rests in two lose ponytails over her shoulders, with a few stubborn strands trailing down her slim neck. As lush and cool colours make the lass happy, Danne’s constant outfit is a comfortable white cotton blazer over a cornflower blue tank top, and a pair of dark olive green cargo pants accented with khaki trim.
The most eye-catching feature of the girl is her towering height, standing at 6 feet and 4 inches tall, looking down at you with the seemingly friendliest of beady, black eyes. And not only that, Danne has a natural – or bad – habit of going around bare-footed.
Personality: Danne is the kind of girl you can call altruistic, and also the type that does not give a damn whatsoever when you flash her disapproving frowns at her charcoaled bare feet. She feels that if there is no law against something she wishes to do, –although disapproved and shunned at by many- she’d go ahead with the process.
Danne is keen of being different from the others and strives to be unique in her own way, which resulted in her behaviors, like setting up of chemistry classes at high-classed restaurants. There wasn’t any sign that read “No Chemistry”, she protested when the manager gave her the hell of a harsh, harsh reprimand.
No, Danne does not have the gift of a gab, she just simply finds the most seemingly reasonable and lamest of excuses to get herself out of her own messes in attempt of trying to show the others of her ‘unique-ness’demeanor, and pushes her luck to the extreme.
History: Give me a day or two to finish this part? ^^;;
Category: White Magician
Weapon: Potions and vials of many kind that heals poisoning, burns, and paralysis. (Because I don't know what staves are =/)
Pokémon: Tropius
Name: Banarii
Gender: Male
Banarii was named by Danne after the bunch of bananas which hangs below his neck. The Tropius is the total opposite of his companion/trainer, calm and collected, and never went for something that rustled in the bushes. Curiosity kills the cat, that’s certainly a phrase Banarii greatly approved of. In fact, Banarii sometimes wished he wasn’t the pokemon of a crazy maniac who always had to make a fool of herself at any given moment. Banarii even regarded himself as a mature older brother whom was forced to be tied down by his crazy ‘sister’, which is none other than Danne.
Banarii has leaves/wings of a cooler and brighter shade of green than the other Tropius.
RP Sample: This one would probably need some time as well.

So... Be kind enough as to give me some time to finish up the remaining parts? xD; Pweese?
-Wishes to be reserved-
Haven't role played for two good months >.< Gack! Sorry if there are tons of grammatical errors =/

This is my first time being game master so things might not go as smoothly as most would expect. Anybody with experience should feel free to offer tips where you think they’re needed. Alright, moving on to Sign-ups then…
No, darthmoose, I don’t believe we’ve met =P
You’ve got just about everything in check and put a little extra info for your Pokémon, [/stamps], APPROVED.
Randall, the personality seems a little short, only three lines on my screen, but if your RP Sample’s any indication of how you’d normally post then I’d have to accept you, [/stamps], APPROVED.
Alana, myesh, myesh, very, very nice Sign-up, [/stamps], APPROVED.
Midnight Dragon, I believe I have seen you RP before so I suppose an RP Sample wouldn’t be terribly necessary. Fine link you’ve got there for the Pokémon’s data. I’m not at all familiar with the new region or anything that has to do with it so that should come in handy. As for the Assassin, and dagger weapons, I don’t see any reason why I can’t allow it, so that’s all good. (EDIT) Alright, I see you're all done now, [/stamps], APPROVED.
Mikuru, myesh, very detailed I see, oooh, I like, I like! Just one qualm, you’ve stated your weapon yet you’ve forgotten to specify a category. In this case, since your weapon is a specialized type of club, I’ll put you in the Fighter category, [/stamps], APPROVED.
Spork Pie (what a delicious sounding name =P), is this your first post in PC? Your Sign-up is looking particularly acceptable at this point. Finish up the History section and provide a RP Sample and you’ll be on your way. I’ll keep a White Magician spot for you then, [/slots], RESERVED. By the way, my understanding is that a stave = staff.
Now, for everybody that has joined or is thinking about joining, I assume you plan on posting more than one entry in this RP before mysteriously vanishing, myesh? If there comes a time where you know you won’t be able to post for a while, a heads-up would be nice. Hm, we’ll start after the few Sign-ups have been sorted out. I’ll try to put up the opening post before the end of the week then.
Anybody else who wants to join, spots are still available.

Hmm... now why would I pass up an rp that does seem to have quite a few fairly good roleplayers in it? Joineth, I shall.
Name: Jack L'estat
Age: 16
Gender: Hmm... Let's see, his last name is the modified version of the name of a slightly pervy vampire, so male would probably be appropriate here.
Appearance (Agh, I really hate this section): Jack stands about 5'4, and has shockingly blond hair- most people mistake his hair for a wig, in fact. His clothing includes a yellow-green fishing vest, a dark green sweatshirt, and a pair of his father's patent "Parachute Pants", which actually do double as parachutes. Additionally, Jack wears a pair of yellow sneakers that inflate into large, duck-shaped shoes when clicked together. Jack's eyes are bright green, and constantly sparkling inside with energy. Jack rounds this outfit out with a carrying case on his back which contains his fishing pole, "Killall".
Personality: If Jack's personality could be summed up in one word, that word would probably be either "passionate" or "electric". Jack has a talent for making himself heard, and is "never backward in coming forward", or so the saying goes. Jack is constantly in the thick of whatever he's doing, be it fighting, acting, or playing around. Jack has a special place in his heart for musical theatre, and occasionally does summarize his feelings by humming a few bars of a song. As far as romance goes, Jack often enjoys playing matchmaker for others, even if they don't want or need any help. Jack's oddest quality in romantic terms, however, is his attraction to female Pokemon- but more on that in...
History: To fully understand Jack's history, we must go back, back, way back... (No, you fool! Don't back into me!)
One Thousand Years Ago:
In the past, Jack was born and grew up as a very happy and passionate Pikachu. His passions, unfortunately, were usually directed at the wrong objects- such as his ill fated affair with Sonja, a beautiful Ninetales. who dissaproved of Jack's runaround approach to the opposite gender. Jack, on the other hand, was completely oblibivious to her obvious distaste, and eventually fell in love with her. After attempting to hit up on Sonja verbally for weeks, or win her over with gifts, with no success; Jack decided to try a slightly more controversial tactic- he leapt directly at her one day as she exited a pool in which she was bathing, and attempted to kiss her. Unfortunately (but pretty much obviously, the foreshadowing here is huge,) Jack landed directly on on of Sonja's tails, and found himself in a gigantic pickle. Not wanting to be cursed to become a wandering ghost for eternity, Jack pleaded for his life, and Sonja, taking pity, decided to give Jack a slightly different curse, so that his punishment would better fit his crime. Jack thanked her, then went on to lead a happy life, get married to a very good-looking female Pikachu, and have sixteen children, fourteen grandchildren, and a fatal heart attack from laughter at age eighty.
Okay, back to the present.
When Jack was born, it did not become apparent that he was different from other human beings in any significant way until age ten, when it became very clear that he could understand Pokemon, and at age thirteen when it became clear to his parents that instead of human girls, Jack was particularly interested in female Pokemon. Hoping to avoid the disapproval of his parents, Jack teamed up with a Chikorita, Audrey, who was a fellow fan of musical theatre, and hit the road. Eventually, after travelling a few years, Jack befriended Grace, a very young Pikachu who was travelling to Hoenn with her trainer to take part in a Pokemon contest. Unfortunately, her arrival coincided with the attack on Lilycove, and she was lost in the destruction of the city. Vowing to avenge his fallen friend, Jack gathered his team, and set out to wage war...
(Incidentally, Jack's curse is this in a nutshell- he's reborn as a human, but has the same lusts he had as a Pokemon, and no way to declare his love for any Pokemon he meets. Jack has no memory of the events of a thousand years ago- he just know's that he's a human who likes girl Pokemon, and leaves it at that.)
Class: Trainer- ironic for a former Pokemon, no?
Weaponry: Jack's fishing pole, "killall", is his one actual weapon. It can withstand a few hits from nearly any other type of weapon, and does make an effective club in a pinch, but Jack truly considers his prowess with coordinating Pokemon attacks to be his greatest battlefield asset.
Pokemon:
Rai- Pikachu, female: Rai is a descendant of Jack, and is completely unaware that she is being trained by her own great-great *insertrandomnumberofgreatshere* Grandfather. Rai is a bit of a mischief maker, and enjoys annoying her volatile teammates, especially the temperamental Audrey. Rai has a slight "condition" of her own- she is unable to produce electricity, except in times of great stress. In order to keep this from hampering her in battle, Jack has endeavored to teach Rai quite a few physical moves, such as focus punch, dig, and iron tail. Rai's signature moves, however, are attract and toxic, leading to her team nickname of "poisoned rose".
Audrey- Meganium, Female: Audrey isn't Jack's Pokemon so much as he is her trainer- in fact, Jack is more likely to follow a direct order from Audrey then she is to follow a command from him. Audrey and Jack both enjoy theatre, and Audrey often impersonates her favorite musical character- Audrey II, from "Little Shop of Horrors". (Audrey Two was the man-eating plant). Audrey is a powerhouse when using the vine whip attack she inherited from her Venusaur father, but using the move has a catch- Audrey can level concrete walls with a single swing of her vines, but that's all she can do. (Alright- in a nutshell, Audrey's vine-whip is abnormally powerful, but she can only use vine whip.) Audrey's bad temper, crazy habits, and love of the song of the same name has earned her the team nickname of "Mean Green Mother from Outer Space".
Sonja- Ninetales, Female: Recognize the name? Sonja is the original thousand-year-old Ninetales who cursed Jack in the first place, and is the only member of the team to know his full story. In the thousand or so years she has been alive, Sonja has seen and heard a lot, earning her the team nickname of "Ancient Wisdom". Sonja originally decided to travel with Jack because she felt slightly guilty about cursing him in the first place- after all, true love was hardly a reason to get angry at him. As of yet, she has not disclosed Jack's secret to anyone, including him.
Sabine- Cubone, Female: Technically not Jack's Pokemon, Sabine was lent to him by a friend for the journey to free Hoenn. Sabine's job is to chronicle the events leading up to Hoenn's freedom, earning her the nickname "The Chronicler". Sabine tends to avoid battle, preffering to beffudle opponent's with her intellect. Sabine's main asset is her photographic memory, which she uses to provide accurate details for the Chronicles she writes.
Other: (I technically guess this could go under history, but as history is really supposed to be significant events surrounding your character's life, I thougt that I had better stick these things in other, as they really didn't fit anywhere else.)
Jack's Father is an eccentric inventor, who invented, among other things, Jack's "parachute pants", which really do double as a parachute. Unfortunately, most of his inventions have flopped, like the sneakers Jack wears, which inflate into yellow duck slippers when he clicks his heels. He invented the alloy Jack's fishing pole is made from.
Jack retains some of his original speed and agility from his Pikachu days, and is naturally quicker then most ordinary humans.
Rumor has it that Sabine is secretly hiding the mysteries of the universe inside her skull, but as of yet no one has dared to check.
Role-Playing sample:
"Forward! Forward, my noble steed!" came the voice of a fifteen year old boy. As he came into view, you could see that he was aboard a slightly scratched Mach Bike, and was being chased by a very playful Mightyena, who was barking loudly.
"No! Back you fiend! Back! Back to the swamp from whence you came! Or the ocean- or the field- or wherever it is you Mightyena's come from!" said Kyle in a dramatic voice, before stopping the bike. As he walked towards the tower, the Mightyena began to follow him. Kyle turned to it. "No, Fang, you can't follow me- you might scare whatever Pokemon I heard inside there last night, and on top of that Michael will be missing you- he probably wonders why you aren't back helping him at the breeding kennels right now."
The Mightyena whined, before beggining to slowly walk away.
"Don't worry- I'll be back. I'll be fine! And if I find the new Pokemon, we may have a new friend- we always like new friends! And if our new friend is a Lapras, that would be cool- I've always liked Lapras- and Scyther, ooh, and Plusle and Minun too! I wonder what's in there..." Kyle continued rambling about what might be in the tower, apparently not realising that by this point, his obsessive talking had cheered Fang up, and he was already far out of earshot. Kyle continued talking to the air in front of him. "I just hope it isn't Spinda or Aipom- I may not get was weirded out by them as a picture of them, but they still creep me out, some..." Kyle walked up to the front door. "And I'll be back for dinner." he said as he began to open it.
You don't know that, do you Kyle?
Kyle looked startled. "Who said that!" he yelled, looking around.
It's me Kyle. Your brain. Have you forgotten me?
Oh. Hi brain. Thought Kyle, retreating to the relative safety of his mind.
Well, what are you going to do? Go into the tower or stay out here?
I'm going in brain. Isn't that fairly obvious?
Good! Don't worry about me- I'll be right out here. Waiting.
Gee, thanks for the vote of confidence, brain. thought Kyle, in a rather sarcastic tone of voice.
It's what I'm there for.
With a sigh, Kyle ended his mental conversation, walked up to the door of the tower, and knocked. He then waited about two seconds for any sort of answer before busting straight in.
(This is taken from another roleplay- Dementia Tower, on proboards.)

OOC: Alright, I edited my post as well. You're accepted. Oh, and ACC, if you're going to be a trainer then that fishing pole can't be anything out of the ordinary. As for the talking question, I wouldn't necessarily say that the Pokemon can speak human language but if they had a considerably strong bond with their trainers then communication shouldn't be too much trouble. Or am I overlooking something here?
FullmetalxFangirl

Full name: Lena Chitose
Gender: Female
Age: 19
Ethnicity: Eurasian
Job/Category: Black Magician
Weapon: Attacks with powerful elemental magic. Specialises in ice-based attacks. Carries a staff that amplifies her power, and also packs a powerful punch when used in close-range combat.
Personality: Lena, at a glance, can come across as a dark and rather gloomy person. If you said that, you'd probably be right. Her tragic past has shaped her into a cruel and rather merciless soul, who seems to only have time for pokémon, and everyone else seems to be somewhere below twenty-fourth on her list of things-to-do. She will, without second thought, put down, insult, make fun of, and otherwise go out of her way to degrade someone.
While not truly evil at heart, however, Lena can appear this way to many who don't bother to see past her rather thick shell. She makes few friends because of this, but to those who can win her trust she is a loyal 'friend for life'.
While she is generally cool (but not quite calm), her temper has a tendancy to flare up in an instant, usually because of some remark about her height.
In combat, Lena prefers to strike from a distance rather than get her hands dirty; because of this, her magic attacks are less accurate in close-range combat, but are dangerous at long range. If battle becomes hand-to-hand, Lena will more often than not begin to attack with physical blows from her staff.
Appearance:
Click Here for image c: (http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i175/fullmetalxfangirl/lenawarv3.png) UPDATED: Now in full colour. o:
Lena is slightly short for her age, standing at 5'11"; just under 6'. Her skin is very pale, as if she'd been sitting in front of a computer screen for too long, and was taking some serious radiation. Her hair is a silver-ish ivory colour, and hangs down almost to the ground when not tied up. It is generally held back by her hat, although her fringe and two slightly longer segments hang down by her face. Her eyes are a light, clear sapphire blue, and are flecked with amber around the edges of the iris.
Lena's ensemble includes a long, dress like outift, with a mostly blue body and strange, swirling patterns in shades of blue and cream. She also wears a matching hat that splits into two parts, both ending with a gold bell and with a dark blue ribbon trailing from each bell. The sleeves are long and flared, withed cuffed edges. Her shoes cannot be seen, but are tall, thick boots made from some pokémon's hide, and sport patterns that match her clothing (she also wears, of course, the usual undergarments). She also carries a long, icy-blue staff with a semi-circular end. Only a crescent of the semi-circle remains, however; what appears to be a deep red orb containing a shard of ice glows and sits at the tip of the crescent.
Mental strengths: Has excellent lateral thinking and deduction skills. Her strong will-power can be transformed into a powerful elemental attack.
Mental Weaknesses: Cannot understand algebra for beans. Also, Lena has no sense of direction WHAT. SO. EVER.
Note: Lena suffers from a hysterical case of arachibutyrophobia. For those who don't know, this is the fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of your mouth.
Physical strengths: Has a powerful and slim build, and slightly above average upper and lower body strength.
Physical weaknesses: Little to no hand-eye coordination. Dislikes swimming, and cold water in general.
History: ::cue story mode::
A young girl with ivory blonde hair, around six or younger, grabbed her mother's dress, tugging her back. "Mommy, where are you going?" she asked curiously. Her tone was excited, although concern and worry laced her voice. The girl was Lena. Sapphire blue eyes looked up at her mother accusingly, scrutinising the woman. It was Lena's sixth birthday, and her mother was going into the city for a not-so-clear reason.
"Come on, mommy, tell me! I want to come, too!" she whimpered as tears started to fill the sides of her eyes. Her eyes glistened with silver tears, that were more for show then anything else. Your mother wasn't supposed to leave on your birthday.
"Im going to the ... toy store, Lena. I should be back soon, okay? Don't worry, papa will bring you to see me soon."
"But mommy, the toy store isnt that far away, and papa can't make pancakes as well as you!" Lena pouted, hugging her mother's arm. "Please, mommy, let papa go to the toy store. I'll stay here with you!"
Her mother kneeled down to Lena's height and smiled warmly. "Don't worry Lena. Be a good girl; stay strong, for me. Okay?"
Lena nodded and held her mother tightly as her mother hugged her back, holding her daughter close before standing up, nodding to her husband, then sliding out the door, leaving only a his on the cheeks of her daughter and husband. "Come back soon, mommy ..." Lena whispered as her mother disppeared.
18th October; three days after Lena's birthday
Her Father led her into a hospital wing. A curtain was drawn over a sleeping shadow, cast by a body that lay in those hospital beds; too clean, too perfect. Lena hated hospitals.
"Mommy isn't here, papa. She's still at the toy store, remember?" Lena giggled. "Silly papa!
Her father looked at her apologetically before turning his attention to the curtain, to the bed, to the shadow. "Come on, Lena. Let's go in now."
Lena gripped her father's hand as she walked inside the cold room with him. His hand was cold and clammy, as if he were nervous. She looked happily up at him, smiling, trying to break the china mask that he wore; a permanent frown, drawn across his face in a straight line. The man looked down at her and smiled back. It wasn't a real smile. He drew the curtain back with a melo-dramatic sweeping motion, often used in movies. There, sleeping soundly as though under a spell, lay a woman. Her skin was pale and blotchy, her hair black like the midnight. It did not shine. Thin, clear, plastic tubes were attached to her hands and were down her throat, constantly pumping and draining fluid to and from her limp, still body. It was her mother.
"Mommy!" Lena screamed, hiding behind her father. "Papa, that isn't mommy. Mommy is still at the toy store. I know she is. She said she was."
Her father moved towards the bed and looked at the dying woman. He placed a half-hearted hand on his daughter's shoulder, trying to reassure her and himself. "Oh, Lena ... I wish that were true. I wish she was." He sighed regretfully. Lena felt a warm drop of water fall on her head. "But she's not. This is her, Lena. This is mommy. She has lung cancer. Do you understand? The doctors are trying to fix her."
Meena climbed onto the bed, not wanting to listen to her father any longer, and sat beside her mother. "Mommy? Mommy are you awake? You're going to be okay, right, mommy? The doctors will fix you. They'll make you better. And then you can come home with me and papa and we'll all make pancakes together!" Lena paused as the woman's eyes flickered open. "Mommy? Did you forget to drink your coffee again?" Tears hung like diamonds on the tips of her dark lashes. These ones were genuine tears of sadness and fear.
"Lena ... don't forget. Be strong for mommy, okay ..?"
"I will be, mommy. I'll be strong for you and papa."
The woman smiled. "Good girl," she said softly. Her voice was barely a whisper.
There was a loud, long beep that pierced the silence. A strip of paper slowly emerged from a strange-looking machine, a flat line printed in very black, very firm, and very clear ink.
Lena took her promise to be strong to the max; she trained herself mentally and physically to be better than everyone. She would not accept 'no' for an answer, and was a sore loser when she didn't win something. She had to win. There was no other option for her and her pride. She had made winning her whole life. She became increasingly difficult to live with, and her father sent her, as much as it pained him, to a boarding school for 'special students'. While she was told over and over that there was nothing wrong with her, and she was just 'too much for the school's curriculum', she knew that no one wanted her around any more. She didn't care. She didn't want to be around them, either.
Lena became increasingly withdrawn, and would often lash out with no reason. Her anti-social behaviour eventually got her expelled from the institution she had been sent to.
In the long run, it hadn't really mattered; not long after that, the League struck, forcing everyone out of school anyway. Apparently, there was some punk kid who hadn't been beaten; impossible to beat, they said. What losers. Not Lena; she decided then and there that the anti-League forces were for her, and when the time came ... She would beat that snot-nosed little brat into the dust, where he and all his poncy subordinates of the Elite Four belonged. Perhaps it was for the fame; perhaps for the money. But she couldn't really be becoming, perish the thought, charitable ... could she? Pssh. Of course not. What a silly thing to imply.

Kuna / Yukimenoko [female]
Kuna was found by Lena in an icy cave she had been exploring during one of the League's raids. Her other pokémon had been previously confiscated, and so upon finding Kuna, she literally dragged the pokémon kicking and screaming from the cave, pausing only to silence it as they left. Since then, the two have become an inseperable pair, working with the Anti-league to 'bring about a better world'. Kuna is semi-narcisistic, and so often gets distracted from the task at hand.
Roleplay Sample: (this is a sample from an introduction to a wolf ropeplay; only a month or so old. Hope that's okay)
Lone Terra was a vast, virtually uninhabited place. It had little in the way of protection or hiding material, save for the odd tree scattered about. Had the circumstances been even just a little more in his favour, Kalina would have avoided this sort of area at all costs - his silver-grey pelt had made him the object of more than one hunter's desires. He supposed that there was at least one thing to be grateful for about this place - snow covered the ground, turning the landscape stark-white. In the snow, he may as well not have existed, if it had not been for his shadow. The sun still rose, as bright as ever, and so his shadow cast itself as it had always done, and would no doubt do until he died.
The silvery brute watched with sapphire gaze as his paws left identical imprints on the thin layer of snow, only for the marks to be swept away again by the falling flakes that clung to his pale hide. The snow would melt with the warmth radiating from beneath his pelt, leaving tiny droplets of water that would call to the sun and be swept up in a golden glow, spangling the wolf's entire being in light.
Auds remained pricked, and oculii darted at regular intervals, listening and watching for a hint of a pack - that was why he was here. To find a pack. As Man began to find ways of traversing the places that the wolven had once found safe, so the wolves were being pushed further and further away from their homes and closer and closer together. Wolves weren't meant to live together, but as loners. Man had disturbed much. And maybe it was the promise of power that called to him. Or perhaps the security that only a pack could offer ... Kalina had lived most of his life alone, but now began to seek the safety of a pack, and perhaps somewhere he could call home, and someone he could call ... family.
With a smirk, the he-wolf remembered fondly his first few weeks alone; over three years ago, now. He had never hunted much as a yearling, so had taken it upon himself to teach himself how to get things done. He had stumbled upon a herd of elk, and decided that he would give this a try. Without even bothering to prepare, he had rushed in and bit down on the ankle of the largest deer there. Shocked, but not afraid of the small pup, the elk had bolted, and Kalina had found himself running for his life. Not that he'd really minded, Kalina had thought upon looking back on the moment. The feeling of leaping into the wind and letting it carry him and whisper through his fur was unmatchable, in his opinion. Really racing, speeding, weaving through the undergrowth got his adrenaline pumping and his heart beating - it was this feeling that he loved more than any other, even more than the satisfaction felt as fangs pierced through the hide of prey, the feeling of fresh, warm blood seeping down his throat, and the welcome sensation of having your stomach full after days, weeks even, of starvation.
That had been a one-off. Now, Kalina was a powerful hunter, who had learned through experience. He had learned to enjoy the kill and the reward, as well as the thrill of the chase. While he enjoyed running for his life, the ever-present fear of capture held him back. He had become an apprehensive wolf, and being in such an open space as this empty territory was doing nothing to help it. However, it was a risk that had to be taken. Over the barren landscaping, the wind whistled, whispering the wolf's name as he crossed the snow. "Kalina ... Kalina ..."
Taking shelter under a large, leafless oak, Kalina threw back his head and let fly from his snowy maw his song. Beautiful and harmonious, the notes rose and fell, occasionally holding fast and echoing through the cool, afternoon air. The song told of sorrow and fear, of anger and rage, but woven within the music was a tale of hope - a spark of longing and need, still burning as an ember within the heart of a wolf.

<OoC: Oh, that was supposed to be directed at ACC, seeing as how he can "understand Pokemon." Just wondering if that meant like a person "understands" what their dog is doing, or "understands" what another person is verbally saying.>

OOC: Umm... the fishing pole is made of slightly harder material then an ordinary pole, but otherwise it is quite normal. The name "killall" was taken from an old story about Daniel Webster that I read that was written in colonial America (my home country), by the way. As for "understanding Pokemon", Jack can tell what his Pokemon are saying, but cannot speak Poke-Language. I just stuck that in there so I could translate Poke-Speak, and make it easier for Jack and his Pokemon to communicate verbally. Your Pokemon could also talk to him, but that's at your discretion. And yes, Jack's Ninetales themed encounter was inspired by the reincarnation of Gengar is MD. By the way, as long as we're talking about our characters, I notice that Lena hates her height being insulted, Fullmetal. Do I sense a bit of Ed-inspiration here? You know, it would be almost funny is you made her hate milk as well.

OOC: My character can understand his Pokémon but that arose from their close relationship, so he probably wouldn't understand others as well. FullMetal, you're accepted. Love your RP Sample, btw. =) And actually, I sort of have that phobia about stuff getting stuck at the roof of my mouth. Didn't think they actually came up with a name for the peanut butter thingy though. New information.
Turns out I'm going to have a pretty busy weekend. Probably won't have any time to post until next week so I thought I might as well get this started now. Post's a little rushed...

The cloud-free sky hung calmly over the vacant seashore, evidence of the early morning tragedy absent from its light blue gaze. To Hoenn’s self-appointed rulers, nothing would appear out of place. Their lax attitude spread across the heavens and beamed in the rays brightening the white sands of the beach. They remained ignorant to the coming day, blind to the soft sea’s deposits that intended to disrupt their casual confidence.
Figures emerged, breaking the subtle waves as they marched their drenched bodies to dry sand. One man crashed to his knees and hands. Heavy drips of water fell from his face and tresses. His normally orange hair took a dark-blood tone when soaked to such extents. His muscles cringed in exhaustion as the pants kept coming. He never before swam the lengths he had this morning. It was hours and miles of relentless ocean. He repositioned himself, sitting his bottom on the sand, and then taking off his shoes to empty the pools that had collected within. The white clothes, drenched greyish, clung to his chest and legs. They needed to be hung somewhere so they could dry. But stripping in front of the groups of men and women that continued to rise from the ocean and walk onto the beach didn’t seem like a feasible option. Some of them looked surprisingly young, and Wrang wouldn’t show them anything they weren’t ready to see. He had a better idea.
He pushed back to a stand and plucked the blue, red and white PokéBall, or GreatBall, clipped to his belt. The sphere rolled off his fingers and popped open, streaming a red current that soon developed into a tall, winged dragon. The Charizard sank to one knee, bowing its head before him and folding its wings in respect. Wrang put a hand on the trained Pokémon's shoulder. That was his way of telling it to relax and that no danger was present. Understanding its master’s gesture, it rose to its feet, towering over the man’s nearly six-foot figure.
Wrang pinched the wet cloth on his shoulders and raised them for presentation to the Charizard. He grinned nervously. “Heat Wave, please.”
The Pokémon sucked in a long breath. Once warmed inside itself, it exhaled a hot wave over Wrang. The heat wave poured on him, flicking his wet tendrils and fluttering his clothes violently. Wrang frowned. The warm wind felt pleasant but at the same time a tinge like it was burning his flesh. After long minutes and a couple more Heat Waves, his attire had been almost perfectly dry. The Charizard, of course, had applied a lot less force on the technique than it would have in a battle. Its goal wasn’t to burn his master but only rid of them the ocean’s residue. A powerful Heat Wave attack could very well burn a foe.
“Good work,” Wrang looked over himself, smiling at his Pokémon’s handiwork. “Completely dry! I feel better already.” The Charizard roared in success. It raised both fists in the air which made Wrang laugh. He returned the dragon to its spherical home. His shoes were still a little wet so he held them instead as he walked barefoot on the beach.
He squinted as he looked to the skies. The sun was out and it was clearly noticeable. It started as such a beautiful day. Why did all those people have to die on the ship? He gritted his teeth and pumped a fist. Not that he personally knew them all, but they were allies and therefore, friends in some sense. He looked at the handful of survivors sharing the beach with him. He estimated that there were about eighty of them left. How were eighty soldiers meant to carry a job originally assigned to over a thousand men?
It was impossible. But he tried to tell his mind otherwise. All those men might’ve gone down, but they went down fighting, and brave. So would he.
Brown eyes suddenly snapped awake. Wrang searched around his back with a hand. It wasn’t there. He knew something didn't feel quite right. His Gunblade was missing. If he was lucky, it got detached from him after he reached the shore and not in the infinite waters of the ocean. He surveyed every bit of ground in sight, hoping to find the weapon laying around somewhere. There was nothing but sand and more sand. Maybe one of the survivors had picked it up for safe keeping? He had to hope that that was the case. He began to approach people and ask whether they caught sight of the long blade.

The smoke was almost all gone. All signs of the incident were nearly deleted. No ships caught on fire, No debris floating in the water. It was weird how things can be so calm after a tragedy like that. The water was still. A light wind blew the smell of the ocean onto the beach, which revived Alexander. He arose searching the waters for anyships or survivors, but there was nothing to be seen.
"How did they know we were coming?" Alex questioned himself. Soaked from head to toe, he released his Espeon to dry him off. "Espeon, use psychic to draw all the water from my clothes." The pokemon nodded and did as he was told. "Thanks Espeon!" Alex spoke as he reached to his belt, grabbed a ball, and returned his pokemon.
Alex started to walk the beach line, searching for survivors from the crash. He found one, asking about a sword of some kind.
"Sorry, I didn't see it. If you want me to, I will keep a eye out for it." Alex spoke to him and then walked away. He pulled his pokegear out of his pocket and wiped if off. "God do I love water proof." Alex said as he flipped open his phone and dialed a number.
"Hello, Professer Oak?"
"Ahh Alex, how are things going?" A crackly voice responded.
"We were detecting coming into the bay. We were attacked...Many didn't survive." Alex spoke softly like he was trying to convince himself it wasn't real.
"Thats terrible. I will let everyone back here know." The old man spoke like he was trying to do the same.
"Professer, let my mom know that I love her and that I'm doing ok?" Alex spoke like a boy again.
"I will do that. Good luck Alex, be strong, be safe. Do not try and play hero, it will just get you killed. If you can not win the battle, run. Ok." The man sounded like a soldier himself.
"Yes sir!" Alex said as he hung up the phone.
We have to assemble. That was the only thing on his mind at the moment. "Scyther, Umbreon, Typhlosion, talk to everyones pokemon, let them know we must assemble. I will keep Espeon here with me for protection. Just make sure you can get everyone to meet up. We still have a mission to do." Alexander spoke in sorrow and sadness. The pokemon just nodded and ran off.

((Ack. Short post. Stupid post. Unimaginative. Writers' block. Curses. D: ))
The waves rolled and crashed outwards from the ship as it submerged, devoured by the white teeth of the ocean. Tiny bubbles began to rise from beneath the surface of the water, slowly becoming bigger as they broke through the slowly disippating waves. A dark shadow moved beneath the water, slowly, slowly. The dark grey hue of a ribbon touched the surface, followed by another, and then by a lock of hair; ivory-blonde. Then, a flash of pale blue light, and a figure leapt from the water, scowling. It was a girl, obviously in her late teens, although short and small-framed for her age. Her eyes were a deep and clear sapphire blue, and they were angry. This girl, sporting an odd clothing choice of cream and many kinds of blue. Her hat, which was long and would have reached the ground if she'd been standing on land, bore the same pattern as her skirts, and at the tip of both ends hung a bell, from which fluttered a ribbon. There was a dark blue jewel-like object at the front of her hat that matched her eyes, and it glinted in the strong light of the afternoon sun. A thick ribbon that hung around the girl's waist whipped around her, intertwining with her ivory hair and the ribbons on her hat as she fell back to the water. In her left hand she held a long, icy-blue staff that ended in a crescent. A deeper blue orb sat at its tip, and glowed for just a moment as it was aimed at the ocean.
This was Lena Chitose; black magician and the 'princess of ice', as she liked to call herself. More determined to defeat the league than perform charitable actions, she was with the anti-League forces. Their ship had been attacked. It hadn't surprised Lena. It was huge, massive. Impossible to miss. Next thing she knew, she was underwater. It was cold water. However, her magic had saved her, and not for the first time; with a blast of magic, she had propelled herself up, and possibly frozen a small portion of the water around her. It didn't worry her: it would all melt soon enough. Now, she used her magic once again to freeze a thin, icy path across the top of the water. There was absolutely no way she was getting in that water again. Her attire was hardly suitable for swimming, in any case. So, scowling menacingly, she stalked down her makeshift path, careful to take the lightest of steps.
There were others of the anti-League already on the shore. One had just been dried off by his charizard. Humph. Pathetic. Pokémon were tools of war, not replacement hair-driers. Another stood with an espeon at his side. Three pokémon had just left him and appeared to be searching the beach and shoreline. Lena sighed as the path ended, and she leapt with a sigh into the shallows. There was no point in wasting her energy on such a small scrap of water. She lifted her skirts to just above her ankles, staff still firmly in her grasp, and stepped out of the water.
Wringing out her sleeves, Lena frowned. All of her was completely sodden; her clothes, her skin, her shoes ... She was soaked to the bone and shivered. With a groan, Lena reached for her belt. On it hung a red and white pokéball, and around it lay a brass frame. Two thick ribbons hung from the frame. Pressing the small button on the back of the 'ball, Lena released her only pokémon; a Yukimenoko named Kuna. The snow country pokémon appeared in a flash of brilliant red light, brushing off its body. "Yukimee?" the pokémon asked in an almost mocking tone. Lena frowned.
"Use psychic on my clothing. Make it quick. I'm wet." Her tone was harsh and cold, as if she believed the pokémon beneath her. The ice-ghost hybrid copied her expression, then broke into a fit of giggles. "Yuki!" it protested as it gained back its composure. There seemed to be an uncertainty as to 'who ruled the roost'. Lena glared at her pokémon, snarling. "Do it, you stupid pokémon. Use psychic!" she commanded, stamping her foot for effect.
The yukimenoko sighed grumpily and muttered something under its breath, but nodded. A soft, red light enveloped the girl and seemed to scan her over. As the psychic energy passed, so her clothing became dry again. Lena smiled with satisfaction as she inspected Kuna's work. "That was ... okay," she told her pokémon. "But do it faster next time. I could catch hypothermia."
Kuna shook her head, groaning, but said nothing. Her blue and white body shone with the lustre of the sea, and the red bow around her waist contrasted marvellously. Where the whites of her eyes should have been, however, there was only a sickly yellow colour; true to her ghostly side. Her irises were ice-blue.
Lena returned her pokémon to its pokéball, pondering whether or not she had just been hypocritical. With a smile, she dismissed the idea. How ridiculous. She nearly laughed.

OOC: No idea how long this post is gonna be because I have limited time on the computer. I'll make it as long as my little brain can manage. ^_^
IC: A flash of bright red light tore through the air, lighting up the horrifying scene of the large boat sinking quickly into the depths. The girl held the Pokeball close to her chest as she kicked at the waters pulling her under. The vacuum force from the sinking ship was drawing her beneath the waves and it took all of her effort to keep the surface in view. The hand clutching the Pokeball was useless for swimming and she refused to move the Pokeball to a pocket for fear of losing it.
Finally her head broke the surface as the pulling force of the ship released her. After taking several deep breathes, she let out a mix of several curses and stayed suspended in the water for a moment. She looked left and right then turned round and stared at in the direction they had come. There was no way to make it back to Kanto and Hoenn was but a speck in the distance. It would be a very long swim.
~~~~
Rataki was barely aware of the rough grains sticking to her skin and clothes as she crawled out of the sea and collapsed on the beach. She wasn't entirely sure she wasn't dreaming but at the moment, she didn't much care. The swim from the ship wreck had been the hardest thing she had ever done in her life. There had been several times during the swim that she had been sure she wouldn't make it.
The Pokeball that held Risho slipped out of her hand and hit the sand with just enough force to make it open. The large blue and yellow form of Rataki's Rentoraa appeared and bent to lick his trainers face.
"Rati, don't lie down yet. It's bad for your heart. You have to give your heart a chance to slow down before you collapse."
Rataki looked up at her Pokemon through red, salt filled eyes. She gave a tiny nod and pushed herself onto her knees. "You're right, Risho," she said in a hoarse voice. "Help me up." She gripped the electric type's coarse fur and allowed herself to be lifted to her feet. Her legs screamed in protest but she fought against her exhaustion and staggered across the beach. As she blinked salt and sand out of her eyes, she began to notice other people scattered around the beach. Not nearly as many as she would have liked to see, but at least there were others.
Keeping a firm hold on Risho's fur, she set off across the sand. Her exhaustion subsided slightly as she became aware of her surroundings. People of varying ages, most older than her, some with Pokemon, some with weapons, some with both. She noticed a few who had quivers strapped to their backs and immediately reached up to check her own. By some miracle, most of her arrows and her bow were still there, as was the small amount of money she had in her pocket. Not that it did her any good at the moment, but it might come in handy later.
A man with red hair approached and asked about a blade he had lost. She considered for a moment then simply shook her head. "I didn't see anything but I wasn't paying attention to anything other than getting to shore." She wished him luck on finding it and moved on. Beside her, Risho let out a soft purr, the sound soothing her mind and making her feel slightly better about the situation she and the other survivors were in.
OOC: Is it too late to join? ^-^;;
Name: Zangetsu Yuudzuki (morning and evening moon)
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Appearance: Zangetsu's appearance could be described, in its most mild manner, as "unusual." Dark hair frames the soldier's face with a single streak of white on each side of his unkempt bangs. Despite the headband bound over his forehead, strands of black hair hang insistently over his face and eyes--one of which is a silver-tinged green, the other being artificial and made of a material resembling green glass. At the base of his neck, Zangetsu's remaining hair is tied into a ponytail by what seems to be a piece of twine looped several times about that which it holds together. Double black lines are tatooed around the base of Zangetsu's neck, though they are often half-hidden by the uniform jacket unbuttoned at its top. Beneath this dark grey-green shirt lies a plain, black t-shirt. From beneath the rolled-up sleeve of the jacket on Zangetsu's right emerges an arm with mechanical parts heavily woven into it, all formed from a non-magnetic alloy, and ending in a hand more robotic than organic. On Zangetsu's left, however, his arm remains normal, though vaguely tanned--as with the rest of his skin--by long days spent beneath the sun. A pair of pants the same colour as Zangetsu's shirt cover his bottom half with a black belt clipped at their top and black boots emerging from beneath them. Perhaps due to the metal that constitutes the top left of his face, the mechanical eye the metal surrounds, or his slightly unshaven appearance, a rather rough yet honest aura surrounds Zangetsu.
Personality: Zangetsu has a confident, fearless personality that comes from years of experience of fighting in difficult situations. Though not unwilling to speak his mind, he also recognizes situations in which silence is more beneficial. Even in difficult situations, Zangetsu is able to remain objective and calculating. And, while he would rather work alone or follow instead of lead, he will take charge or throw in his opinion if he believes he needs to. Despite his apparently direct and friendly personality, absolute trust Zangetsu does not grant easily. And though he would not freely accuse a traitor with little basis, he would not long linger in doubt if he was sure of one. Still, for those he does consider comrades--whether absolutely trusted or othewise--Zangetsu would willingly sacrifice himself.
One of Zangetsu's more serious flaws is his tendency to focus on the mission and become frustrated with any, including himself, who impede the mission's progress. Having spent the last six years of his life fighting or preparing to fight, Zangetsu has had a fair amount of experience involving comradeship in battle, but may not be fully able to interact with others under more normal circumstances.
History: Zangetsu was born and raised in Mossdeep City with a loving family and a dream to become a powerful Pokemon trainer. Though his father--a member of the Pokemon League and a talented trainer--was often absent from the household due to League business, the older man remained an inspiration to his son. With encouragement from his mother and older sister, Zangetsu began to train Pokemon when he was ten and started to travel when he was eleven. As fate would have it, Zangetsu was leaving Mossdeep on a late-night ferry after a visit to his home when the city came under attack. The ferry Zangetsu rode was swiftly taken into League custody, though Zangetsu was able to escape into the water below. As he started toward Mossdeep, Zangetsu was intercepted by another trainer with a familiar face--his father. The battle was a desperate one, with neither side wanting to fight the other, but both intent on achieving their respective ends. At the urging of two of his Pokemon, Zangetsu finally left them to fight while he rushed to the island and his home.
When Zangetsu arrived at his house, the doors and windows were broken and no sight of his family could be seen. Signs of struggle were clear, but only an empty silence remained in the building. Zangetsu had no time to mourn, however, as he was struck by a sudden attack from the side--the attack that cost him his eye and much of his arm. Slowly, painfully lifting himself from where he had fallen, Zangetsu turned to see his father and his Pokemon. Behind them lay Zangetsu's Pokemon where they had been dragged, both completely still and either unconscious or deceased. Filled with a confused mix of emotions, Zangetsu released his remaining Pokemon and continued to fight both his father and the agony that coursed through him. But, as Zangetsu's vision began to blur and sense of reality began to fade, several other trainers of the League arrived and joined the battle. Within minutes, Zangetsu's Pokemon were defeated and had been taken from him while Zangetsu himself had been taken as a prisoner. As he watched the helicopter that carried his Pokemon away for League use fade into the distance, something within Zangetsu snapped. With an unexpectedly violent bash of his head followed by a forceful kick, Zangetsu broke away from those that held him and vanished into the night.
How he survived, Zangetsu did not know. But, during the next four years, Zangetsu was a member of a resistance team that fought against the League members wherever they met. For two years, the youth fought against his opponents with Black Magic only and was unwilling to consider the possibility of training another Pokemon. After finding a mysterious egg on one of his missions, however, Zangestu began to carry it back to his team's base for another's use. Halfway along the journey, it hatched.
To Zangetsu's particular displeasure, he now held an oddly-innocent infant Scyther. Seconds later, the Scyther proved to be less innocent as it promptly proceeded to bite the human that held it. Though Zangetsu attempted to rid himself of the young Pokemon upon his return to the base, it appeared wherever he went and clung to him whenever it could. A little irritated but nonetheless resigned, Zangetsu finally accepted and began to train the Scyther. And, with it being his only Pokemon, it quickly gained strength and later evolved with a Metal Coat liberated from an enemy camp. Scizor has been with him since that time.
Two years later, Zangetsu slipped past Hoenn's borders and traveled into Kanto in an attempt to recruit help for the resistance in Hoenn. After a little less than a year of being in Kanto, Zangetsu returned to Hoenn with the promise of Kanto's authorities that they would intervene when they could. For the years that followed, Zangetsu moved between Hoenn and Kanto as well as he could, bringing any available information during his journeying. Once the ships of trainers being sent to Hoenn were finally launched, Zangetsu accompanied them to act as a guide once they arrived at their destination.
Category: Black Magician
Weapon: Nyx; An amplification bracelet that can transform into a black staff (Is this alright?)
Pokémon: Scizor (Male) - Scizor's forte of close-range combat provides a strategic balance to Zangetsu's long-range Black Magic attacks, while the numerous battles he has seen provided him with a shock of maturity when he was still young. Scizor's and Zangetsu's relationship is an interesting one--being a combination of father and son, brother, comrade, or even two parts of a single being.
RP Sample:
Zangetsu crawled slowly up the beach, dragging himself away from the waves that lapped about him while bringing with himself the wooden piece of the ship's wreckage that had saved his life. Due to the metal woven into him, Zangetsu was more inclined to sink than to float and would doubtless have had considerable difficulty swimming to shore had he not clung to the piece of wood now enveloped by seaweed and pieces of ocean debris. Once he had pulled his body above the tideline, Zangetsu lay motionless for several moments--thankful for the opportunity to rest. The fighter's next action was to move his free hand the few inches to his side and check his belt for his Pokeball and closest friend. The Pokeball was still there. Having found this assurance at least, Zangetsu then began to extract himself from the layers of algae that clung to his partially-artificial arm and held him to the wooden board. Loosing a grip held for hours is never an easy task, particularly when one is exhausted, but it needed to be done sooner or later. As Zangetsu's mechanical arm withdrew from the dark green blanket, hissing with the effort due to the few drops of seawater that had wormed into its inner workings, a metallic ring reached Zangetsu's ears. Now motivated by curiosity rather than necessity, the male cautiously pushed aside the seasoaked plants to reveal a smooth section of metal lodged into his temporary lifeline. Soon Zangetsu realized that one hand had not been clinging to a protrusion of the broken wood as he had previously thought, but rather to the hilt of a rather unusual blade.
Once he had recovered sufficient strength, Zangetsu reclosed his hand firmly about the weapon's hilt, placed a boot against that which surrounded the blade, and dealt a sharp tug away from the ground. The sword came free, droplets of water scattering from its dangerously sharp edge and glistening in the sunlight. A strange weapon . . . Unlike any I've ever seen before. It's clear that the sword is a good one, though. Considering it was lodged in the wood, I'd say it belongs to one of the passengers on the ship. Zangetsu paused as the words entered his mind. The passengers . . . I wonder how many survived. Fleeting anger briefly darkened the magic-user's features as his grip tightened about the gunblade's hilt. I've fought the Hoenn League more than the others, so why didn't I know better? More lives sacrificed in this fight, and not the first ones to hang over my head as my fault. I should have died, so why am I still here? Why have I been allowed to live? His dark hair hanging wet about his face, Zangetsu shook his head slightly and set his jaw with determination. Holding the sword at his side, Zangetsu began to make his way along the shore, steam rising about him to indicate his fire magic was at work. Though he was not skilled with the use of such a weapon, Zangetsu easily recognized the gunblade's value and was unwilling to leave it where it lay, available for Hoenn League members to salvage. The fight isn't over yet. I need to search for other survivors and continue the mission. However much it may be displeasing to me, the past is the past, and I can't change that. That I am already sure of.
Almost a full half hour later, a dim light flickered in Zangetsu's mechanical eye to indicate it had detected movement and life. Zangetsu instantly dropped down and began to move more slowly. The terrain was open, and he did not want to be seen before he could see the moving beings and determine for himself whether they were friend or foe. After a number of yards, Zangetsu's artificial eye was able to focus more clearly upon its targets. The resistance fighter carefully straightened, brushing a strand of still-damp hair behind one ear. To all appearances, they were allies and were alone. Though he remained a little wary, Zangetsu resumed his normal pace and continued forward.
Walking up the shoreline, Alex spotted a few pokemon battling towards the city. One had a huge advantage over the other. Just by what pokemon they were. A Flareon towered over a poor Volbeat that kept getting knocked down. But stood right back up. The little pokemon didn't quit. But the battle was already over. Alex spotted one of the trainers, who had a distinct look of on his face. It was a look of hatred, but a look of fear.
Alex leaned back to get a glimpse of the other trainer. He didn't see his face. But he seen a red patch on the trainers right shoulder.
"Thats the mark of the Leauge." Espeon sent the message straight to Alex's brain. Alex just nodded. "I am ready master." Espeon spoke to him agian. Alex just nodded again as he looked out and seen the Flareon with a paw on the Volbeat's chest, breathing in to attack. Thats when Alex revealed himself.
"Espeon! Use Psychic!" Alex commanded. He didn't give the Leauge member a chance to counter strike. Espeon's eyes glowed brightly as the Flareon started to levitate. "Do it Espeon." Alex voice was a little heavier. He was not the same 17 year old he was at home. His hair blowed in the breeze as he stood firm in his place.
The pokemon asked him, "Master, is that really necessary?" The pokemon seemed afraid of what he could do. His master glanced down at him.
"It must be done." Alex replied in an even darker tone. The pokemon just nodded. Turned on the floating pokemon and glared at him. His eyes started to glow even brighter until it glowed a white color. "DO IT NOW!" Alex's voice seemed to tear through the sky as he commanded his pokemon. His pokemon reared his head towards the sky and the Flareon went flying. Then fire started to branch off from the pokemon's body and forming a huge ball of flames. This stopped when all but the Flareon's tail was the only thing on fire. The ball of flame was gigantic compared to the pokemon in the sky. The Espeon let the Flareon fall to the ground. But still had the ball of flames in his control. Then his sights turned on the trainer.
"Wait a minute...Just what do you think your doing!?!" The League member asked almost with a whimper.
"It's over for you." Alex's reply sent a chill through members back. The fire ball shot down at the trainer, engulfing him in flames. Which Espeon supressed as he fell to the ground. "Go on and get out of here. Make sure you get your pokemon healed. You dont need to start fights with League members. They wont stop at nothing and your pokemon aren't strong yet." Alex's tone seems to soften. He sounded kind agian.
"I will," The boy replied. "But who are you? What happened last night on the beach?" The boy asked many questions but all Alex replied with was a soft, "You will all find out soon enough." When he turned around, the pokemon and his trainer were gone. He must have limped off with him pokemon back in his pokeball.
"Master. You do know he will tell everyone of the occurrence that just happened." The Espeon spoke softly.
"That is what I plan for. He will let them know we are not ones just to step aside. That my friend, was a message. The send a chill down the spine of the League. Even though our numbers are small. We are still a force to be reckoned with." Alex seemed to mature in few hours he has spent on the beach. He seemed to realize the true extent of what is about to occur. He knows he might not come home alive. He has become a soldier, ready for war.
OoC:Sorry if this is short...
___________
The vortex of the ocean looked like a mighty maw devouring the ship, along with many of the people on board, to Kairin Elvannis, a tall, lanky girl of about fifteen. She was trying to swim as fast as she possibly could to escape the ocean's pull, which would be hard when you have a metal guantlet on one arm. Kairin, in her panic to stay alive completely forgot about Rukai, her Kaburaisu that had learned 'surf.'
After about twenty minutes of swimming, Kairin felt like she was about to drown. Rukai must have sensed this, as he forced his way out of his Poke'ball, snatched up Kairin, and put her on his back.
{Kuro! Kuro! Snap out of it. Now is no time to fall unconsious.}
"Oh, I wasn't going to pass out or anything, but thanks anyways." Kuro saw Rukai look at her cynically. "Anyways, we should probably head towards that mass of land over there, probably Hoenn."
Rukai nodded, then said, {Yes. I advise you to hang on to my fin tightly.} Kuro heeded his advice and scrambled over to get a good grip on his dorsal fin. {Ready, master?}
"Yes, yes, let's go already. I might catch something if I stay out in the cold too long." With that, Rukai set off at full speed, ripping the dark blue water and creating a massive, frothy wake.
It had felt like a mere half-hour when Kuro spotted land. "There, land! I'm getting pretty sick of water, water, water!" Kuro then looked at Rukai's head. "You must be really tired, too."
{You really have no idea, master. But having you sick is no way to fight against the League, is it?} Rukai started to slow down a little, but within minutes, they had reached dry land. Kuro jumped off of Rukai's back, ran to the sandy beach and collapsed. Rukai dragged himself to shore and slowly walked over to Kuro.
{...You're not hurt, are you master?...} Rukai wheezed out.
"No, no. I'm just happy to see the ground. If I ever get on water again, it'll be too soon," Kuro said, her voice muffled by the sand. "And if anyone is in danger of being hurt, it's you Rukai. You really need a rest."
{...No, master. I am...fine...I do not...need a rest. Resting is...for the weak.} Rukai did his best to look like he still had energy left, but then collapsed himself. Kuro got up and looked at Rukai. She pulled out a Poke'ball from next to her daggers, that were miraculously still there, and called Rukai back in. A transparent red light shot from the middle of sphere, engulfing Rukai's form and pulling back into the ball. Kuro then looked at the ball and shook her head.
"We both know you're not weak. You did a good job. And I can fight by myself, so if any League scum show up, I can fight them off." Kuro tucked the ball back into her belt and then looked around. There were a few other people on the beach, one was walking around talking to people in a random fashion. The red-haired male seemed to have lost his weapon. There was also another girl of about Kuro's age who had a Rentorra with her. Sadly, there weren't many others around.
This is awful. How could so many of died? ...The league will pay for this. No matter what...But now, I could probably use a rest. If any League members show up, there are enough people around who could fight them off. Kuro laid down in the sand, put her hands behind her head, and closed her eyes.
On a cliff overviewing the shorelines there stands a figure. The figure is none other then Cody who is looking down at those who survived the attack. He seems to be completely unharmed by the attack, looks like he came to Hoenn by using alternative methods.
His jacket flows with the wind, his hands are in his pockets and he seems to carry a cool attitude, however his face is hidden behind his sunglasses and hat. He carries his voice well and speaks freely to those down below,
"Welcome to Hoenn." He welcomed everyone.
He speaks in accent, he must be from a foreign region,
"Leave now if you value your lives and your Pokemon." He warned everyone.
He created a dramatic mood, his words, there is no hesitation.
"You have been warned." He explained.
Suddenly a mist of ice surrounded him and in an instant with the breeze of the sea he vanished out of thin air. Just who was this man?
"Aw, ****!"
Those were the last two words that went through Jack's mind when he hit the water, and the first two that occured when he resurfaced. "And while I'm at it..." he muttered, adding a few other choice curses to the end of the sentence, including a few ancient ones taught to him by Sonja. He stared at the remains of the ship directly below him- he had been lucky enough to be thrown onto the rocks by the incoming waves, but not everyone aboard had been so fortunate. He removed the fishing pole still slung across his back, and swung it out across the water, a silent salute to his departed comrades. He brushed back a tear, as memories of the people aboard the boat began to march through his brain, completely unbidden. The crew laughing and joking with each other, the younger soldiers excited to enter their first battle, the Captain, who had been the only one not to laugh when Jack's nose had begun to bleed after staring at one of the Scizor on board, and most of all, his friend Ryou, who was undoubtedly at this moment lost beneath the waves. A wandering artist and historian, Ryou had been travelling with Jack for just over a month now, and had become a friend almost closer then a brother. Ryou's last wish was to chronicle the war from the perspective of a soldier, and to bring the story to the people when it ended. Now it seemed as though Ryou would never see his dream come to fruition. At least, Jack thought, my Pokemon are safe...
His Pokemon!
"DAMNIT!" Jack screeched, leaping up. He had forgotten about his Pokemon, who had been outside of the small red-and-white spheres he wore in his jacket during the time of the crash. If they had been hurt...
"Rai! Audrey! Sonja! Sabine! Where are you! Are you-?" he yelled in a panicked voice.
<Cool it, chief, we're right behind you.> said a small, sassy voice. Jack turned, and began singing praises in his brain. There, behind him, was his entire team, wet but nonetheless OK.
"Well, glad to see you're here- did you notice if anyone else made it out?" Jack asked, staring at Sabine. The Cubone's photographic memory meant she would have the best idea of where they were.
<No. None save us- but there was quite a bit of water around me, and I didn't get a good look.> replied the small bonekeeper in a monotone voice.
"Well then, any idea how to get off of these rocks and onto shore?" asked Jack, wringing water out of his vest.
<I could extend my vines, and use them as a tightrope to get to land, then jump myself.> offered Audrey, shaking the water off of her petals.
"Thanks for the offer. Alright, team, let's go." Jack commanded, waving his arms as Audrey fired her thorn-covered vines toward shore. Jack hesitated, weighing his odds- then decided to speak up, hoping that the shock of the crash would keep Audrey from killing him for complaining long enough for him to reach shore. "Um, Audrey?"
<Yes?>
"Could you, maybe, you know, tone the spikes down just a little?" Jack asked in a plaintive tone.
With a groan, Audrey shook the vines, causing the thorns upon them to vanish. Jack took the oppurtunity to run along them before Audrey realized he had just complained about the quality of her vines, motioning for his other team members to follow him. They needed no second bidding.
As Jack approached the beach, he thought back to the reason he had entered this war- Grace. She reminded him so much of himself, and he would willingly have allowed her to join his group if it had not been for the fact that she was already owned. She had been killed by those freaks with the guns as well- and now Ryou. Two of the best people in his life snuffed out by the league soldiers.
If Jack had had any regrets about joining the army, they were gone now.
“No, sorry, haven’t seen it.”
No luck. Wrang hung his head. It seemed like nobody recognized his weapon or came across it in the passed few minutes. The trail was turning cold. He started to wonder whether it really didn’t sink to the depths of the sea during his long swim to shore. It certainly appeared that way.
The afternoon was shaping out to be quite the spectacle. An encounter with the League had already taken place. One thing didn’t quite register with Wrang. In their briefing for this mission, they were told that the Hoenn civilians were stripped of their rights to possess Pokémon. So, how could that boy, who appeared to be an enemy of the League Trainer, have his own Pokémon? There must have been a few rebels who fought against the League’s ruling and tried their best to live the lives they used to before Achu’s takeover. That battle had a happy ending, with the enemy being engulfed in live flames but how much longer could the positive outcomes persist? It was only a matter of time until the numbers came into effect, and the resistance forces would be at a major disadvantage.
Not too late after that, another mysterious event took place at the peek of a nearby cliff. Some guy welcomed them to Hoenn, and in the very next sentence threatened them to leave immediately. How silly of him to think anybody would back out now. They were sent to Hoenn because they were the best of the best, not because they had a burning desire to live. Win or lose, everybody had to face the possibility of death. Anybody who took the crazed man’s warning to heart didn’t belong there in the first place.
Rustboro City was but the size of a tiny ice cube in the distance. It would take them at least two days if they were going to travel by foot. Some of them could always take to the airs but Wrang was sure the League had their eyes on the skies. If they were detected too early, the entire mission could’ve been jeopardized. The safest path would probably to stay on ground, and tread through the thick forest up ahead. Not only would it provide them shade, it would also give them cover from enemy eyes. The best attacks were always those that took the enemy by surprise, so they should keep themselves hidden until the right moment. That sounded like a plan to Wrang. He’d have to communicate it to the rest of them and see what they thought. He just hoped that little battle that happened earlier hadn’t totally given them away.
A dark blur crept to Wrang’s side vision. His eyes shot in its direction. Wrang almost gasped at the bizarre-looking being walking closer onto the beach. It looked like a Robocop costume gone wrong. His arm and part of his face was constructed from steel. Wrang could imagine how that could be both an advantage and disadvantadge in battle. Wonder how he got that way…
But an even more startling discovery took Wrang’s attention. Grasped in one of his strong hands was what resembled the magazine and trigger portion of a gun. At first glance, some might assume that the weapon was a shotgun. Wrang knew his Gunblade better than that. It’s long, silver blade, currently covered in a brown leather sheath, extended from the barrel. That was his weapon alright. Wrang approached the stranger.
“You’ve got a license for that?” He pointed at his blade, grinning.
Just as Alex thought, if there were other league members around, they would've have heard the fight. Two men came running down the street, a pokemon by each other their sides, the League symbol on thier arm. One was in control of an Mightyena, the other, a Gardevior.
"Damn." Alex spoke to himself. If there was any chance of him beating this two, he would need help. He didn't know how many pokemon they controlled. "I might be able to hold them off, but I will have to get a sneak attack first." Alex spoke to himself. "Well, why wait? Umbreon, on my signal, use faint attack on that Gardevior. Typhlosion, hit Mightyena with a fire blast. Ready....NOW!" Alex yelled as he sprung from behind a boulder. Umbreon vanished and Typhlosion spit searing hot fire at the pokemon.
The Mightyena fell hard to the ground after taking a direct hit. Umbreon then appeared behind the Gardevior, and scored a direct hit, KOing both of them. Caught off gaurd, the two trainers quickly reached for the belts releasing a Swampert, Swallow, Jolteon, and Blastoise. Alex called his Scyther and his Espeon to battle. "LETS GO GUYS!" He hollered lurching forward to battle.
I can't do this on my own. I am at a disadvantage, someone needs to help me... Alex thought to himself.
Zangetsu returned the grin, dimly recalling having caught a glimpse of Wrang aboard one of the ships. "Nah, though so far no one's arrested me for it," the fighter replied casually before sliding his grip to the base of the hilt. Offering the other end to Wrang, he asked, "Why, you know how to use it?" After a moment of studying the red-haired swordsman, he added as a guess, "She yours?"
The smile faded and Zangetsu's expression grew serious as the sounds of battle--a little faint and distant, but clear to the searching ear--reached him. Turning to one side, the cyborg studied the surrounding area in attentive silence. Has the enemy found us already? Dissatisfaction tinged with signs of preparatory calculations crossed Zangetsu's face. Tch. This isn't good . . . We haven't even had a chance to properly regroup. Whatever the cost, the enemy can't know we're still alive. Handing Wrang his weapon, Zangetsu stated shortly, "I'll be back." Without another word and no further explanation, the male started toward the fight.
Kneeling in silence behind the boulder that had hidden Alex only a few minutes before, Zangetsu quietly removed his single Pokeball from his belt. From his position, Zangetsu was able to see portions of the combat and hear all of it. A noisy confrontation that could draw attention is not what we need. This needs to be settled as quickly and quietly as possible. The magic-user glanced down at the sphere in his hand as his eyes began to glimmer with a faint energy. I'm counting on you, partner.
A cloud of dust suddenly rose about the fight, obscuring trainers and Pokemon alike. Amidst the blur of pale brown confusion, a single streak of red shot past the League trainers with unwavering intent and the sureness of experience. The first moments of inaction and disorientation after a shock are limited in their duration, and this flash of movement exploited each half-second to its fullest extent. After a few skillful movements, the scarlet figure vanished from the cloud and returned to the clear air outside the earthen screen.
Scizor's eye-marked pincer opened, dropping two sets of Pokeballs into Zangetsu's hands. The fighter cast a glance over the objects he held before looking up at the gradually settling cloud of dust. With a deft flick of his wrist, Zangetsu suppressed the earthen particles and returned them to the ground. Then, before the League trainers or their Pokemon could react, Zangetsu raised the Pokeballs toward the momentarily-halted battle and commanded, "Everyone, return."
Streaks of ruby glittered briefly about the
