You know? I had the same problem as you when I joined PokeComm. But then I realized what it was, however it took me some time. "PM" is an abreviation for "Private Message". You can send a "PM" (Now you see why everybody does that because is too long to write it fully all the time! In English you abreviate lots of words, don't you think? It's weird) by clicking on the member's name and then you see the option, or just go to "User CP" and the option appears on the left side. Hope I could help you.
