[RMXP] Pokèmon: Glowing Gold-Cause I'm bad with names

What's this about?

I'm just making a Remake of Pokemon Gold and Silver. The project started because of a request of a friend. It will be basically the same game, although it may take a while before I start the actually gameplay because I don't have battle system that aren't super buggy. So right now it is just maps, and people with events like the game. This will be as authentic as possible, right down to the text.

There will be new side quests and such do add to the experience to the game.

This game will be finished even if almost nobody is really interested in it. It's something I'm doing for a friend and I thought it would be fun. I probally won't update this page much and the game will take a long time to finish as it is a side project.

I only started this a few hours ago and came along not so far. No getting your Pokemon yet, no battle system, and no fancy menu. Right now I'm just concerned about maps and events. The only Events not done in my maps are ELMs event to get your Pokemon and anything involving a battle system.

Also if anybody could, please help me so I can make the text black. It's hard to read...

DEMO

Yes even with my little progress I do have a demo. Mainly because my friend wanted me to give him a demo of what I did so far. There have been alot of changes since this demo.

It does look a lot like G/S/C, it's a good replication. Though, you should probably add in some more items, since the G/S/C mapping was basic due to the capabilities of the GBC.

Also, you may wanna fix the stair tiles, they look kinda odd.

Yeeah the stairs definately need fixing, but the tileset I'm using doesn't have much better. I'll fix it later though :)

Well, if you're doing a remake, then it would be nice to have Pokémon textbox.
And if you need a better tileset, search for it on the Request thread.

Well I like the stuff in my tileset it just doesn't have very good stairs.

You could Revamp the G/S ones? Or get a team? There are also a few Tilesets in the resources thread you can use.
To be perfectly honest with you I'm getting a bit tired of seeing G/S remakes. Not that I'm saying that you shouldn't continiue, I'd love to see a finished one, but so many of these games die out because they just can't catch the G/S feeling.
What should be improved on:
Mapping - There is a LOT of empty space in your inside maps, try and fill them up with some stuff or just erase the empty space, you don't have to make it an exact clone of Gold. Contrary to what I just said you need to make them look a bit like Gold just to retain the feeling, the bottom of the lab looks nothing like the original!
Character Sets - You need to trash the Japanese Magna/Anime looking sprites, they just don't fit in.
Tile Sets - Please, please PLEASE get some new ones. It will make your game look so much better and more original.
Text Box - Eugh, just EUGH.

Mapping- The bottom of the lab I just added the couches for fun.

Characters- I'm using most of the ones from FR-LG. So it's still pokèmon styled. What are you talking about?

Tile Sets-I'm using one that's based on Johto and Kanto's tileset. So I don't see why I would need to change it.

Text box-yeah I know it sucks. I'm going to make it the traditional pokemon text box.

I jsut wanted to let you guys know that I'm am now teaming up with my friend so progress will double. We have also decided to create a unique storyline and include KANTO and HOENN into this.

The mapping needs alot of work
Just beacoause u can have a house 30 x 30 doesnt mean u have to (not saying you do)
black space looks nice too
but empty space looks odd
also the outside bottom of oaks lab by the doors ur missing some bits there
inside maps need shadows this gives it the 3d look
shadows around the walls plants tables etc
