Most disappointing:
David Gilmour - On An Island
Pearl Jam - Pearl Jam
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Stadium Arcadium
Sonic Youth - Rather Ripped
Tool - 10,000 Days

My top 10:
#1 Joanna Newsom - Ys (folk, indie)
#2 Belle and Sebastian - The Life Pursuit (indie, pop)
#3 A Lily - Wake:Sleep (electronic, ambient, avantgarde)
#4 Yndi Halda - Enjoy Eternal Bliss (post rock)
#5 Mono - You Are There (post rock)
#6 Placebo - Meds (alternative, glam? emo?)
#7 JJ Cale & Eric Clapton - The Road to Escondido (rock, blues, folk)
#8 Yo La Tengo - I Am Not Afraid of You and I Will Beat Your Ass (indie, lo-fi)
#9 mewithoutYou - Brother, Sister (post-hardcore, emo)
#10 Helios - Eingya (electronic, idm, ambient)

So much great music released this year. My top 10 were really hard to decide. There's so much more great music that's not on here.

And Pokerock, there's no need for you to tell me which of mine ROCKS or SUCKS!!!11!! one!

I didn't buy many CDs this year, but there was one I got that was from a recent band...

Wolfmother - Wolfmother.

That one was great...

Thinking of CDs that weren't classics of '06...definitely wouldn't be Chinese Democracy...

Please tell me someone besides me got the joke...

You don't get much more mainstrema than Dylan and Gnarles.

I sadly didn't care too much for this year's music, though I'm sure there actually have been a lot albums worth a listen... From what I actually did listen:

Muse - Black Holes & Revelations
Wolfmother
Placebo - Meds

And though disappointing, David Gilmour's On An Island. It's still a good album. :P

I didn't find any really interesting music CDs this year; Last year had The Offspring's greatest hits and I always listen to it. xD it's probably some of the only '90s music I like, apart from RHCP, and others

I didn't buy many albums in 2006. Usually I wait a couple of years and buy them when they're cheaper. Thus, the only 2006 releases I own are:

Yellowcard - Lights and Sounds: I was really looking forward to this, and it was a complete letdown. It wasn't bad as such, but it wasn't good, and while there were a couple of decent tracks there was nothing stand-out. Most of it was pretty mediocre.
Punchline - 37 Everywhere: Not as consistent as Action, but still a damn good listen. Don't Try This At Home was a brilliant track. My pick of the year. Of course, I'm biased; they are my favourite band, after all.

After that I ran out of money from buying Pokemon cards. Still a lot of stuff I need to get - Thursday, Brand New, that kind of thing.

Oh wait, I lie - I also got Taking Back Sunday's Louder Now. Crap at first listen, better after a few months, but not up there with the Punchline.
