I don't really do alot of EV training because I really don't understand it, but I was just wondering if taking a Pokemon like Venusaur with a Sassy Nature which raises SpDef and giving him the max amount of vitamins to increase his SpDef stat higher would be an effective strategy of making alot of great use of his nature? I just want to make sure their aren't any drawbacks to my plan before I do it, I don't want to mess my team up.

Well, it all depends on how you look at it. If you feel 100 EVs in every usable stat is sufficient enough, then your plan is valid. If you want to MAXimize the usefulness of its stats, however, it'd be best to EV train.

At this point I'd flip a coin tbh.

Yeah, but I don't know which pokemon to fight to raise a certain stat and I really don't have the paitence to do it either. I figure the vitamins would be alot of help toward the stat. I think I'll go with my original plan and do that.

Here is a list of natural places to visit to help EV train your Pokes:

Whismur (1 HP) - Rusturf Cave
Carvahna (1 Att) - Fish, Route 116/119 [Super Rod]
Sandshrew/Skarmory (1 Def/2 Def) - Route 113
Spinda/Slugma (1 SAtk) - Route 113
Swablu/Lotad/Lombre (1 SDef/1 SDef/2 SDef) - Route 114
Zu/Golbat (1 Spd/2 Spd) - Cave of Origin

I list these particular Pokes because they are the ones you will see most frequently on the designated routes.

The thing is, I'm playing FireRed at the moment, do you have a list for the pokemon on FR?

Let's see...

HP - Caterpie (1) /Nidoran (F) (1) / Clefairy (2) / Jigglypuff (2) - Viridian Forest, Mt.Moon, Route outside of Mt.Moon
Attack - Mankey (1) /Nidoran (M) (1) / Paras (1) - Route next to victory road, Route outside of Mt.Moon. Mt.Moon bottom floor (Supposedly a 100% encounter rate for Paras o.o)
Defense: Metapod (2) / Kakuna (2) / Onix (2)/ Geodude (1) - Viridian Forest, Any cave
Speed - Pidgey (1) /Rattata (1) / Pikachu (2) / Diglett (1) / Dugtrio (2) / Spearow (1) /Magikarp (1) /Zubat (1) / Golbat (2) - Just about any route, Diglett's Cave, fish anywhere with Old Rod
Sp.Attack - Gastly (1) / Haunter (2) / Horsea (1) / Abra (1) / Magnemite (1) /Magneton (2) - Pokémon Tower, fish anywhere with Good Rod or higher, Route after Nugget bridge, Power Plant
Sp.Defense - Drowzee (1) / Tentacool (1) Route right of Vermillion, any sea route or body of water connected to the sea

Speed EVs are common as dirt in FR/LG, just go to route 1 and KO as many as you need or, if your poke is strong and/or fast enough, take a little training shift in Diglett's cave. HP and Defense aren't really that much harder, although they might take a bit more time. The special EVs, however, come into the picture a bit later...still, you should have fairly easy access to all EVs once you reach Vermillion. The vs Seeker should also help a lot, as all you have to do with that one is to seek out trainers with the right kinds of pokémon and challenge them over and over. It's easy and you'll earn yourself a good bit of money and exp too. ^^

Anything is good ingame unless your going to battle with good players.
