Okay, I finally decided to start another fanfic and post it here on PC. This is actually my first Pokémon fic, but I have done others that follow the theme of Yu-Gi-Oh! and Yu-Gi-Oh! GX. I'm really hoping that this will be one of the greatest fics I have done and stick with until the end, though it all depends on how many reviews I get and if the reviews actually help instead of getting the ones that say 'Cool fic, update soon!' though I've been known to do this myself.

Note: As the chapter's progress, I will load the last chapter in my Fanfiction.net account and put a link to the section. The newest fics will be posted in the first post and I will post telling that I've updated. I will try to update almost every week so this fic doesn't die. Now, time to get to the story!~

The following fanfic is rated PG, but be advised that it may go up to PG-13 or higher (just for safety)

Chapter One: The Last Breakfast

BRR! BRR! BRR!

The loud sound of the alarm clock filled the large bedroom where young Alex was resting. The noise was just loud enough to knock him out of his dream of battling the top trainer in the annual Grand Tournament. The man raised his hand in a lazy fashion and hit the top of the small, black digital clock with his wrist, which turned it off. He hung his arm off the edge of the bed before he let out a loud, tired sigh. For several minutes Alex did nothing but stare up at the white ceiling waiting to fall back into a deep sleep, but before he could, his mother knocked on the door yelling, “Alex, don’t you fall back to sleep. You have to get to school and you don’t want to miss your final day.”

The young man sat up and ran his hands trough his hair. Today was his eighteenth birthday, which meant that he was now able to go register for his trainer’s license. The age limit used to be ten, but the Pokémon Trainer Association had revised the old law because inexperienced trainers were getting lost while they were wondering around with their Pokémon partners in the popular regions such as Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn. And now, Alex would be able to walk up to the headquarters with his other eighteen year old friends, take a test, and get the most famous license.

After taking all of this in, Alex smiled and stepped out of his bed, walking over to a large mirror, which showed his whole body. He was still dressed in his dark blue pajamas with a bunch of water Pokémon in odd angles spread evenly over the surface. He leaned on closer to get a good look at his face since he was going to get his picture taken today at the Pokémon Headquarters. So far his skin was blemish free and his crystal blue eyes shined brightly under the bedroom light he had left on last night by accident. He knew of course that his short, brown hair was a mess since he tossed about in his sleep like any normal person with a rough bed.

“Alex! Get in the shower now!” His mother usually yelled at him in the morning since he took so long to get ready. “If you aren’t done with your shower in thirty minutes, then you won’t get your breakfast, which means that you’ll have to go hungry until lunch time!” Alex growled. He rushed over to the closet on the opposite wall and pulled out a blank white t-shirt, a black over jacket, a pair of dark blue jeans, and a pair of underwear from the top shelf.

Without hesitating, Alex turned and exited his room and stepped into a long hallway with four doors along the right wall. He didn’t have to adventure down the whole thing since the bathroom was right next to his bedroom. He stepped into the smaller room. It was one of the nicer bathrooms he had been in with black and white checkerboard floors and white walls and ceilings. The sink was black on white marble and both the toilet and the shower/bath were both just plain white. He turned two knobs, making a long stream of water coming from the showerhead.

Alex quickly stripped himself of his clothes and began to wash himself. It didn’t take him long to get all the soap out of his hair and to cleanse his body of yesterday’s dirt. After the shower, he dried his tanned muscular body with one of the towels in the cupboard next to the shower. He rushed to get into the selected clothes and brush his teeth and ran back to his room. A tall basket was at the foot of his bed; this is where Alex placed his dirty pajamas, which his mother would take down to the laundry room to wash them on Friday.

Continuing his rushed pace, Alex grabbed a folded pair of socks from the same closet before running back into the hall and down the stairs on the left-hand side. He jumped onto the entrance hall floor from the third step and took a right into another large room where his family was sitting at a oval shaped wooden table that was covered in various items. Hanging above the table was a large banner that read:

Happy Eighteenth Birthday Alex!

He could help but to smile at the sight of this. His seven-year-old sister jumped from her chair and ran over to Alex to give his legs a tight and warm hug. He patted her red hair and looked up to see his father standing before him. He had the same crystal blue eyes that Alex had, though his were under small reticular spectacles. His skin was rough and a dark tan and most of his body was covered in a gray suit with a dark red tie. The middle-aged man held out his hand after scratching his head covered in smooth dark brown hair.

“Just wanted to shake the hand of my now adult son.” His father smiled, which forced his eyes to close. Alex stared at him for two or three minutes before shaking his father’s hand. “Looks like you will be leaving the family breeding ranch and will venture off to be come Alex Yurain, professional Pokémon trainer. Wish you could stay at the ranch, but you’re to old for me to tell you what to do and it’s your choice to go off on a quest to become champion.”

There was an awkward pause for a minute before his mother rushed from behind his father and hugs him tightly. His mother was a rather skinny person, so the tight hug shocked him since she sometimes had trouble opening jars that she had closed herself. She stepped back, but kept both of her hands on his shoulders. She was wearing a plain, light-blue dress with a white apron over the front. This was her usual fashion, but she had changed her hair. Instead of keeping the long red hair down, she had curled the whole thing and left her bangs alone so that they would just hang at the top of her eyebrows.

“I just wanted to wish you good luck, but there is no since in doing it now because you’re going to be here until nine, which is only and hour away, and then I’ll see you for the last time at twelve since you have to return home to retrieve your backpack,” His mother said in a very light voice. She looked like she was holding back tears as hard as she could, which was what the mothers usually did when the children were just about to leave home to challenge the most common organisms on the planet, Pokémon.

Another awkward pause made its ugly presence on the family and this one lasted for about ten minutes. “Umm… I guess I should thank you both. For uh… raising me and stuff, but you two won’t have to worry since I’ll only be gone for about a year before I com back home and uh… spend more time with you before I leave again,” Alex said. He only spoke because he wanted to break the awkward silence, but it didn’t help much since they stood there for about another five minutes while Alex looked at the ground while he searched for nothing in his empty pockets. “How about that breakfast.”

His mother finally came back to her senses and led the other three at the table. All three of them enjoyed their final breakfast with Alex. Right now, he only had to wait two-and-a-half hours until he would be a certified trainer and he could go down to Professor Oak’s lab and pick-up his very first Pokémon.

Next Time:

Alex leaves his family to go off and get his trainer license with his two closest friends. Will they all be able to pass the tests given? Find out in the next chapter, Chapter Two: A Trainer’s Test

Err... Not to happy with my ending and I really just wanted this chapter to be an introduction to the character. I know for sure that there will be action in the next chapter and if I can I'll try to have humor since there isn't alot in this chapter (it's not one of my best elements >.<). I want anyone who reads to please post a review because I know I need a lot of work and when I get reviews I'm inspired to continue the story and to try and make the chapter better. (P.S. I know I did the alarm noise wrong, I couldn't come put with a text noise.)

Your making the trainer somewhat different from the trainer you play as in the handheld pokemon games, and that's how your forcing him to be a adult before he can take the test for the license.

Your description is pretty well done throughout the Chapter. Now all you need to do is keep this interseting in some other ways possible to have this trainer face twists and turns on his journey. One thing I'm curious about is any possible romances you've got planned, cause you can have a lot more fun with adult love than teenager love. LOL.

One thing that would be really useful, would be a rating for the fic {G, PG,} you get the picture right?

Keep the good work up.

Yeah, I didn't really want to make this one a teenager since most OT stories involve teenagers and I wanted to be a little difference. But I really got the idea of an adult trainer from one of the fics on Fanfiction.net.

Lol. Last night, after I posted the first chapter, I began to finish the plot and right now I've got some good twists while Alex is on his journey. I didn't think about romances until I read your post, but now that I have I'm going to look over my plot and add maybe a couple into the story. Thank your for the ideas. :D

>.< Woops. I meant to put it up in the first post, but I must have forgotten it. The story is rated PG, but it may go up to PG-13 or higher (Just for safety since I've just started it). Thank you for reminding me about it.

I should have the second chapter up soon since I just started to write it this morning, so maybe expect it Monday or Tuesday.
