Umm guys, I need to rip off some music from FR or LG but I don't have the XML file for it, so can you give me the file if you have it, I'll really appreciate that.

Does anyone know how to make Advance Mart work with the English LeafGreen?

My INI says it is for 'BPGJ', which I assume is Japanese.

It says in the readme it only supports Japanese LG.

FireRed in my F2A (flash2advance) says 'The 1m sub-circuit board is not installed.'

LeafGreen does not..

BTW, rhtools.scizz.com gives me a 403 Forbidden.

1. You might have to use hex then or wait until someone updates A-Mart to have LG.

2. Is there an option for selecting what sort of Flash type it uses? Such as 128K or 64K. You can also open it in the emulator and select Flash 128K by going Options > Emulator > Save Type > Flash 128K.

Okay, I made a simple talking script, but it constantly goes onto the same line (similar to if you go over the repoint limit on A-Text)overlapping itself, which is, obviously, an undesired result. How do I create line breaks so it stops reusing the same line?

\n=next line
\p=new box

For example, say i want the words to look like this:

Hi,
My name is itman

I would put this

Hi, \nMy name is itman

Now to say:

Hi,

Bye

Just like that.

Ok, I'm having a problem with inserting maps.
When I insert a new map in Advance map, it seems to work fine, but when the player warps to the map the screen goes to black.
Does anyone know why?

I also noticed when changing the indoors of a certain house, other indoors that are in the same bank usually change, why does that happen? Are the indoor maps connected somehow?

Thanks for all who helped me figure out my exit tile problem...I looked closely at the two tiles, and yes, there's a difference. XD *feels dumb*

Anyway, another question - I can't seem to find the answer anywhere - what are the percentages for the appearance of wild Pokemon? Take Route 102, for example, since it has both water and grass. I know that there are ten different slots for grass-appearing Pokemon - but what are the percentages, does anyone know? Also, for fishing, it looks like the first few slots are for the Old Rod, then the next few are for the Good Rod, and the last for the Super Rod. Can anyone confirm this?

Hi, I use No$GBA Emulator to play pokemon Diamond and Pearl becuase the rest are like UBER slow. But I'm curios is it possible to make a .SAV file on Pokesav and play it on an Pokemon Pearl.

PS. This is the emulation section so i dont see anything wrong with this.:)

I do think this does belong in the thread call "Playing Diamond/Pearl ROM". To play it on Pearl would be difficult seeing as they are two different games(slight changes here and there), you could rename the save file you have and call it the name the Pearl ROM uses.

Pokesav isn't too hard to use, you just run No$GBAtoVBA first to get the right type of .sav file. Then open that save file you just converted using Pokesav. After that edit what you want then save. You then rename your save file back to what the game is called (replace the old one) then start playing your game off that.

1. First off you need to you need hex to do so. You search for the items name and the pointers leading to that name. Then add on a new pointer to the end of the others linking it to the name you wish to use. I would not know where to find the effect for the item.

2. You have to change the Pokemon's evolution to do so.

3. You would have to search for the sturcture of the item, and then add a new image into the rom so that it can read that image.

You would have to search for the names. First go Script > Open Thingy Table to load the tbl file(RS english preferred). Then go Script > Finding using table and search for the items, at the end. The in some blank space nearby add the text you wish to call your item. Now you have to find the pointers of the old ones and add on a new pointer onto the end. The only thing I possibly don't know is how it functions, what it does.

1. You need to export the sprite you wish to replace then paste your sprite over it. Save. Then import that sprite so that the sprite becomes indexed. If there are palette problems, just palette change the colours first.

2. FR/LG/E ROMs cannot be opened up in Bewildered. Try Advance-Maps Wild Pokemon tab, in which you can change the Pokemon and even add new ones.

Hello,

I've searched through this topic and the "Hack" related topics.
I couldn't find the right answer for my problem.

So.. let's go.

1. What I know already:
I know that I need Tilemolester for the Backpics of the Trainers.
I know the Offset for the Trainer Backpics.

My problem:

When I access that area it's all scrambled up, no matter which pallette I try it continues to look horrible..
I cannot get the correct colors as how they are in the game, and the Backpics are scrambled to bits.

My Question:

What pallete number do I need for the backpics to show "NORMAL"
How do I fix the "Scrambled" effect of the backpics.

I doubt people edited their backpics this way, since it's.. well I think impossible.
I wish there was something easier like exporting the backpic and editing in paint and importing it.

But then I'm probably asking too much..
I hope someone can help me, and I hope I didn't ask too much for my first post.

Edit the pallete below so it is the same as the sprites in the game.
You have various ways of doing this:
- go to the pallete viewer in VBA and find the pallete. Seek it in hex and load the pallete from the rom using the offset (hard way)
- go to the pallete viewer and find the pallete, then edit the pallete so it has exactly the same colors as the original sprite, double clicking each color to edit it
- Same as 2nd, but with approximate colors.

Ok never mind my last promplem I solved it.

On pokescript whenever i put a script on my rom. Then I went to AM to put the script into my game. Whenever i went to that event in to the game it froze.

Any ideas?

Ok never mind my last promplem I solved it.

Did you insert the script right?

Here is how, check to make sure your doing this:

Write script on notepad: make sure it is correct.

Save it under all files, then save it as a .rbc file.

Right click it and press compile script.
Bifrite should open.
Click the book thing and click your rom.
Click the blue thing adn double click the first script.
Copy the first scirpt besides teh $H
Go to file adn press burn.

Insert it in AM

Thats happened to a lot of people before. I dont remember the reason, but if you look at some scripting tutorials, look at the replies.
I bet at least 1 will answer why thats happening (i don't htink encode will work)

Sorry, having a little trouble understanding.
But from what i see, you can't make tileset 2 bigger, you just have to change the tiles.

You would need to direct the pointers of a sprite(replacing the old pointers) to a new location, one that is in blank space but stays in the bank. In that new location you would have to put [5C][Pokemon][Level][1E][03][Type of Fight*][5E][82][7A] but if you want to go back to a Pokemon Centre went your Pokemon faints then add in a [5F] code after the [5E] instead of the [82][7A]

* 09 for "A wild PKMNNAME appears."; Withdraw possible
* 08 for "PKMNNAME falls from tree."
* 07 for a shiny PKMN
* 06 for win without actual fight
* 05 for fight with possible withdraw
* 04 for "The caught PKMNNAME attacks." (Rod)
* 03 for fight with DUDE’s back pic
* 02 for fight with HIRO’s back pic
* 01 for fight with possible withdraw
* 00 for fight with possible withdraw

You would need to enable the flag for which badge is given or which ability is to be used, you can do that using a script editor or hex.

how do i put them in using goldmap, arent there any specific numbers to add to the code so it can be put in with goldmap? Also how can I make some of them roam around the region like entie, suicune, and raikou?

I am a noob... plz be easy on me

when i make a new map and for example i into a cave and i warp inside, at times I stand in one area, and cant move anymore....

the screen is pitch black and only one tile is visible...

how do i put them in using goldmap, arent there any specific numbers to add to the code so it can be put in with goldmap? Also how can I make some of them roam around the region like entie, suicune, and raikou?

1. GoldMap cannot do so, seeing as some of the maps are from a different bank.

2. You would need to enable the flag. The flag should be specified in the event that occurs.

I have some questions here:

1. What number is the textbox for FR in unLZ or Tile Layer Pro?
2. How do I edit trainers in hex?

1. I think it is compressed, but it is probably located around 0x1EAD30 - 0x231C24 near the text tiles.

2. There are plenty of tutorials explaining how to do so.

I am a noob... plz be easy on me

when i make a new map and for example i into a cave and i warp inside, at times I stand in one area, and cant move anymore....

the screen is pitch black and only one tile is visible...

First make sure you warp is ending up on a block that says Block 287, if it still tends to be dark then it could be a problem with your Tileset 1 or 2.

In my rom when Oak stops you from leaving town he says what i edited then he says something "[h4123123rf5235235][r]wefw]ef]f[cw]" pretty much babble, then he says something that he says later on in the game, and in a-text when i click to edit it his whole texting this is blank and ya can't edit it. Prob could script it or hex it or something but i can't script or text...Anyone no whats wrong?

That's the problem using A-Text. It sometimes messes up the messages. So your only options are use a backup of your hack and try again, OR learn to script.

Well you would have to add a new event into blank space as none of the battle events occur in the bank. I stated the code you need to put into the blank space before. Fist you would need to find the fat guy's text then find out where the pointer to that code is. So in hex, before the guy's text there should be an 00, calculate the pointer for that. Then search up, it should give you a code saying [4C][Pointer]. Now go to the start of this code in which he loads the Text Box/Font, the code should be [47], calculate the pointer from that and search down. Now you should be at the guy's pointer all you need to do is add in the new code I showed you before, also you could add in text before the battle. Now after doing that calculate the pointer for the new location (start of your code) and write it over the guy's old pointer.

You can always use alternatives if you cannot find it, some include Color 2 Hex or Advance Palette Editor which comes with a colour picker.

In the spoilers, I have a script. The script is for a hack I am working on. I am having trouble, I have editted it about 30-40 times, so its lucky I selected a Script Test Rom.

So now I need help from you. My script, it goes to the namepokemon screen, but it names a missingno. thing, and not the pokemon it gives. Also, I need help with vanishing sprites. Also, this is for LG, in case you need to know.

EDIT: Kazuma I replaced namepokemon with
#raw 0x04 0xEB 0x74 0x1A 0x08

And it messes up the game a little. The side of the screen is weird and sound stops for a split second, then returns to normal, completely skipping the naming 'session'.

Most DP Pokemon just need to be resized and indexed, but I know WAH used to have some, but I am not too sure about that anymore.

1. Did you try setting it to Flash 128K then reloading the state?

2. It could be the ROM file that has an error.

3. You can always go File >Save Game... then select a slot you want it in. When you open the ROM file you would have to select the state (where you saved) by going File > Load Game...

To do that you would have to activate a flag in which it allows more items to be for sale.

I have a question does anybody know how to replace the empty slot for pokemon because im trying to add 4th gen pokemon and when i try replacing the slots it doesnt work.

4th Generation Pokemon are much larger than the Pokemon in the advanced games. They are 80 x 80 whereas the advanced games are 64 x 64. Also they will have more colours. There should be some ?? Pokemon in which you can replace and add in new Pokemon, but the hard bit would be adding attacks and evolution data using hex.

Maybe you shouldn't have removed it but instead blocked it off so you cannot access, you might need a new ROM file.

I am sure that those tiles would be compressed, but you can easily edit the text.

It should pop up.

When you say letter by letter do you mean if the word is a 4 letter word, you have to replace it with a 4 letter word?

No I mean when you are searching it,
Don't mess up at all!
And when you are replacing the text,
Make sure the number at the bottom(that shows how many spaces you have left)
Ends on zero.
If you are short of some letters,
just use spacebar to fill up the empty space.

I beleive you should avoid A-Text altogether, scripting is a whole lot safer, and beleive it or not, easier. There is no searching required. If you cant make a script or you just want to make a basic message, it's quite simple. Read a few tutorials and make a few mistakes. Thats how alot of people learned. I tried to make a starter script and ended up making a whole lot of errors, but then when someone corrected it I understood how to do it the next time. Everyone learns from mistakes. If you want to, use A-Text. Though I don't think it's as helpfull as a Hex Editor or Scripting ;D.

I don't knwo for sure, but i think you have to use RS ball to get the pictures in.
RS ball comes with the elitemap package, someone correct me if i'm wrong though.

Yeah, what you do is save the tileset in advancemap, and then open it up in paint.

Then, open up another paint and make the tile you want.
Copy it and put it over the original tile in teh other paint and load it in block editor.

Did you patch it correctly?

Make sure you did these exact steps:
1. open up LIPS (comes with the elite map package)
2. press apply IPS patch.
3. Click the patch in your folder.
4. Click the rom you want to put it on (CLEAN ROM!!!)
5. Rename the CLEAN ROM you patched the name of the IPS file.
6. Play it.
7. There is no 7.

You would either need to resize your tiles or fix it up using A-Map, if it looks "stuffed up".

In your VBA, go Options > Emulation > Save Type and select Flash 128K instead of the current Flash 64K.

Alright, I have a problem here, my hack was working fine, but when I compiled a berry script I cant walk out of the starting house, it automatically restarts.. What should I do? Make new warps?

I had that sme problem on one of my old hacks...
I had no working compiler so...
I couldn't make a script work....
So I gave it to a friend that scripted new warps...
And it worked!
So I'd say start off there.

Sounds like a glitch in the ROM file then, which would result in starting over again, next time make sure to backup your work.

It should be at 247, in 16 colour mode. Then you press the + button.

Huh? How do we add it? Cause I'm really stuck. I add copy and paste the diomand and pearl tree in but its not the rite size and the grass looks stuffed up. And when I add the flower it stuffs up aswell. Can someone help me please.

You know that girl in pallete town, how she is always in that spot. The only way to not make her in that spot is deleitng everyperson and her. Even changing her script didn't work.

The tiles appear to be compressed into the rom, they only way you can fix that is by repointing where the tiles point to and replace it with an object that is minorly compressed.

You would probably have to de-activate her flag which enables the event.

Change her people number to 15, so then the level script doesn't know which one to use..

I have a question, when I go out to route 1 the game restarts, anyone know why this is hapenning?

Sounds like your ROM file is glitched on that route, you might need to start again.

1. Try Presea's Tool Archive, link is in my signature.

2. It could be the ROM file, so you might have to get a new one seeing as the Flash 128K does not work.

Did you go Options > Emualtor >Save Type > Flash 128K before opening the ROM file?

Yeah, Teh Blaziken is right.
You can get pet in teh elite map package.
Read a guide in the documents/tutorials section to learn how to use it.

I have a problem!
My Compiler Is Not Working!
Ok here is what happens:
#1: I right click on my Script,Open It up with Buf Rite

#2: I Click On The Little Blue Book and open up my ROM

#3: Then it freezes up.
-It Turns a whiteish color
-It will not let me click on it
-The Mouse turns into the loading thingy when I move it over Buf Rite
-A thing appears next to the name of it that says:(Not responding).

Your not supposed to open it with bufrite straight away, click compile script...

If that doesn't work, download a new PokeScript.

Save it as all files, then .rbc

Then, go to my documents on your computer and go to the notepad file.
Right click it, and the second option should say compile script.
hit that and do teh rest.

I'll give you a few explanation.

• Download PokeScript 1.00 or ScriptEd.
• Extract all files to a specific folder, in your case, PokeScript should have a folder called Poket Script, atleast I think.
• Download PkmnAdv for Pokescript.
• Install it into the PokeScript folder.
• Now a log should come up automatically with pokescript saying stuff like: Registered poke.txt
Registered move.txt
and so on..
• When saving scripts, save them as <nameofscript>.rbc, insert a name for the script before the .rbc
• Right click on the script, and click 'Compile Script'
• A log should show up and register all commands, and then BufRite should appear, check to see that all pointers are there, then click the notebook, load the Rom.
• Click the first offset and right it down on a paper.
• Click the asign button, and then another box should appear.
• Click file -> burn, make sure the first offset is the same.
• Load A-Map and go to the person or script, and write in the offset in the right box.

Please take your scripting questions to the script help thead in the scrapbox, that is where they'll get fixed most likely.

If your having problems, find out what they our yourself. Look through the script and find where the problem occurs, and then fix it.
If your still having trouble, THEN post it.

I put the list up not too long ago, you just need to find which one is the red palette, think it is 4.

After I imported my edited Bulbasaur sprite into unLZ-GBA and wrote to rom (I only have export image, export pallete and automaticly fix pointers ticked, otherwise it says it's too big) I go into the game and instead of seeing my edited Bulbasaur there is nothing there at all, like not even a glitchy image, just like there is no sprite there at all.

Can somone help me?

Did you happen to change any palettes or resize the image? If not, it could have to do something with your ROM file.

The problem with that is the number of moves the ?? Pokemon learn, they can possibly be extended in hex.

how do you edit or replace music in Pokemon Gold?

There should be a program called s_e v1.3 which can edit the music, but to loop it you would need to put FD 00 ll hh and 00 means continuous loop, if over 00 then it will repeat the amount of times you specified, ll is the low byte and hh is the high byte, which should also be the starting point of the music.

Go to "Wild Pokemon Vewier" and click on "Expand",
Then choose the POKEMON you want to appear there.
And choose the "Frequency Index",
Which means the percent that the POKEMON will appear.

ok, call me a noob, but I cant seem to figure out how to change the map labels, from... say Pallet Town to become something else, like Goldenshore City. The drop-down menu on elitemap just lets me select a new label, but I can't type in a new name for an existing label. i know I'm overlooking something basic, but help would be appreciated.

You need to resize the current D/P Pokemon and palette change the Pokemon until correct and then use unLZ.GBA, Pokepic or RS Ball to export a sprite and paste the D/P one over it then import it back using those programs.

After I imported my edited Bulbasaur sprite into unLZ-GBA and wrote to rom (I only have export image, export pallete and automaticly fix pointers ticked, otherwise it says it's too big) I go into the game and instead of seeing my edited Bulbasaur there is nothing there at all, like not even a glitchy image, just like there is no sprite there at all.

Can somone help me?

Open your rom with Free Space Finder. Choose Search From Offset and type 800000 and click search. It will give you an offset. Write that down.

BACK UP YOUR ROM

Now go to unLZ-GBA, open your rom, and import your edited bulbasaur pic over the old one.
Now, click Write to ROM and make sure
"Auto abort if new data is bigger" is NOT checked. By Image Offset, type in the offset you wrote down earlier (after the 00) so if your offset is, for e.g., 800501, you type 00800501. Click OK and it sure work :D

ok, call me a noob, but I cant seem to figure out how to change the map labels, from... say Pallet Town to become something else, like Goldenshore City. The drop-down menu on elitemap just lets me select a new label, but I can't type in a new name for an existing label. i know I'm overlooking something basic, but help would be appreciated.

Just use Advance Map, it's waaay better.

Don't mind the Glitched trees. I just inserted them, and I didn't fix them yet.

I even tried it on a Clean Rom, and inserted it just once!

Thats easy, that happens when the sprite is bigger that the one you are replacing...
Im not talking about the file size that is 64 x 64, im talking about the lonely sprite ^^
Eg: If you insert Darkrai, replacing Pidgey, that lines might appear and the next sprite
will dissapear. If you check the box that says "Auto Abor If New Data Is Bigger", a message
will appear saying that the imagen is too big... You Understand? Is simple, Darkrai is Bigger
than Pidgey in size ^^ I hope i had clear out this doubt ^^

Thanks. AdvanceMap is working great Just one more question. I would like to change the trainer in Viridian city gym to have 2 sandshrews . I ifgured I could just Script it, but the pokescript tutorial said I needed Advanced Battle to edit trainers. And the Download link had expired for that application. So, I either need a link to that program, or a different way to edit trainers. Thanks in advance.

to edit trainer's PKMN, why not use PET..?
It is a veery handy (and glitchy) program that can help ya a lot, or maybe you can go with hex editing it. ;)

I get what you mean by glitchy... One of the sandshrews is at the correct level (8), but knows tackle and Ice punch (which it shouldn't) and the other one is supposed to be at lv9, but it is at lv 11, but seems to have the correct attacks. Is there a way to fix this? (gawd, I feel like such a noob.)

Actually Crashink, that is not the problem and it is fixable.

Actually, even though this may seem bad, it is a relatively easy fix (Trust me. I have had this error occur with me in Harmony more times than you can count). First, the problem is that you exported the tileset in a palette that had less than 16 colors. What A-Map did was it replaced the missing colors with the lines that you saw to compensate for them. Now, to fix it, you are going to need a copy of the original tileset, in Palette 0. You will also need the broken tileset, also in Palette 0. With the original tileset, copy all of the tiles that have been ruined and paste them onto the ruined one. Then import, and it is fixed!

The original tileset in Palette 0 Doesn't have any Glitches on it. Man, The graphics part of hacking is Killing me.

The first time I imported a tileset I got that glitch, so How do I get an original? Or do you mean an original that's in a clean Rom?

1. The program should be available in Presea's Tool Archive(in my signature), the file should be called soundedit.zip.

2. Hiro's Backpic is located at offset 0x260555. You would need to change this using Agixp or Meowth's GFX Inserter.

Make sure your images has the correct palettes being used and at least 16 at maximum.

Increading the game will cause the clock to freeze, but it is probably your loss.

You can only add up to 255 Pokemon seeing as 255 = FF in numbers. So you would need to find the pointers of the Pokemon and add onto the end of that to increase the amount. Then add in a new structure for your Pokemon and the pointer you use at the end should be pointing to that structure which should be under the same bank, so free space nearby should help. New tiles you would have to do that same thing, just find the pointers, add onto it and direct your new pointer to a compressed tileset.

Well to edit the text or events you go into hex, search for the text then at the start of that text calculate a pointer and it should direct you
