Hi all! It's me again...

Can someone tell me where to download Mid2AGB, 'cause I wanna try it out and replace musics for my bro's hack (True Light) and for my hack.., ;)

Also.., Can anyone show me the movement scripts for Ruby hacking..? Example.., 0x06 - turn left... (just anexample...)...

Can anyone give me the script for giving the pokedex in fire red?

put this in a script:

It will enable the Pokédex menu.

Distribution of MID2AGB it not legal and therefore you cannot ask it. Use Google for all your illegal needs.

I had the same problem. When you do ctrl+click on the script, write something like this, in the hack name field:
partition_letter:/somewhere/somewhere_else/name_of_the_rom.GBA
instead of:
partition_letter:/somewhere/somewhere_else/name_of_the_rom
and then view the script (not closing scriptED). It should work.

Depends what you set. One trainer (Like Brendan, May etc.) can have a few battle scripts.

I want to hack FR/LF but when i edit the pokemon and the pokemon attacks of a gymleader ... it goes wrong.. I gave brock a Sudowoodo for the test but.. The Sudowoodo knew Thunder and Acid and Fissure and something else.. I used the programm Pet that is in the EliteMap.. I've tried to use A-Battle but that is only for R/S .. Can someone help me please? Because No matter wich attacks i give the pokemon .. the attacks don't save =S
I hope someone has a better program for me? :(

2 QUESTIONS...

1. When I load my rom in elite map it says:
Run-time error '6'
Overflow

Whats wrong with that??

2. Sometimes when I edit my town and then play it, I go into lets say the PokeDex then go back to the playing field I become 1of the other charicters...

But if I delete all the people on the map it works fine again but I have no people to battle or nothing so it sucks..

for me to escape that glitch.., I have to fly to a different town so the glitch will go away...

and sometimes I play as nothing at all and i can move.., but my character won't...

can anyone help us...?

To more detail, it happens when i go to my Pokedex, my party pokemon, or a battle..
And i become my self just the colours are inverted and i am where one of the trainers was and i can only move in like a square..

Hope that explains the question a abit better..

P.E.T. or hex. In P.E.T., try to set next attack on the list instead of this which you want. For example, if you want GUST, set WING ATTACK (which lays under GUST).

Hello... I've got a question for anyone to answer.

Does anybody know how to change the Hoenn Dex order in Pokémon Ruby? 'Cuz I think playing with standard Hoenn Poké's over and over again is kinda boring.

Thank you, but how would I edit the other evolutions besides that?

Here's what I need to do:

Normal: Eevee

->Sun Stone: Vaporeon
->Dragon Fang: Joltoen
->Leaf Stone: Flareon
->Level 30: Umbreon
->Moon Stone: Espeon

This is because I have a whole new line of Eeveelutions.

Also, I want to add an Eeveelution to that.

->[Item evo]: Some other Pokemon

Using Pokémon Amplifier would be the easiest way to edit the way Eevee evolves.

The tilesets in unLZ start at number 65 and end at 123.

For gold you would have to Use a Hex editor.
And I have Attached a Scripting Documents that refers to Scripting in Gold and Silver. You should be able to learn something from that.

My Question: How do you pallete hack tiles using a hex editor?

In Ruby (AXVE), I dumped the raw image of the 2003 Gamefreak thing using UNLZ and edited it in TileMolester. I then converted the hex offset of the image into a decimal one, and used Pokepic to insert the .gba raw file back into the same place. Upon starting the game... nothing happens, black screen, clearly corrupt or something.

What'd I do wrong?

I know exactly how to make Eevee evolve with Poke-Amp.

The only problem is that I can only make it look like one of the evos.

For example, when you first have P-A, you see it shows Eevee evolving into Jolteon with the Thunder Stone. It doesn't show any other evos.

If you select another evolution number in the evolutions' part in Pokémon Amplifier.

Your ROM was probably messed up, if you keep backups you should check them and continue from the one that doesn't have the same glitch in the intro.

You have to use Hex they look like this: [Map bank][Map Num.][2-Byte connection pointer(Bank of Blockdata)][2-Byte connection destination(what way you enter)]

The Scripting document does not have connections in it...

Palletes, now open up VBA and go to Tools> Pallete Viewer, click on one of the palletes, let's sya the Value of the pallete is 4567 in VBA. Now open hex and search for 6745 as it is the flipped value from which you began, edit 6745 until you get the right pallete...APE's colour picker could come in handy ;)

In Elite Map. Mouse-over on wanted sprite, remember its Index or Position (X, Y) (in object info on the right). Then go to Objects > People. Find wanted "person", then click Become > Item Ball.
Last thing to do is to write a script giving an item.

Just put the sprite no. as 92 (an Item) in advance Map, then put Script events for it.

Just like Bill in Fr/Lg.
i did that but now virdan city and route 1 dont connect

I'm not sure if I should be asking this question here, but I don't know where to put it, so... when I open some of the files in elitemap (like unLZ gba), a window pops up and says "the dynamic link library gdiplus.dll could not be found in the specified path..." and then it says the specifed path. Is it something I'm doing wrong, or is it just my computer? thanks in advance

You are probably missing some of the Application Extensions, try downloading the gdiplus.dll and put it in the same directory as the elitemap folder.

1. The 2-byte is the pointer...

2. You would have to repoint the map then add in a new map by copying another map and adding in events using hex.

3. Most of people's talking script begin with [4C][1stPointer to text][2nd Pointer to text] if that helps, the scripting document you put up before should really help.

I tried to build this cave but when i enter the cave ( via the bottom entrance ) the player faces down apposed to up and i cant exit the cave the way i came in. can anyone see the problem from one of the screen shots.

And you enter the cave from the bottom? Thats werid. Maybe it has something to do with your Warp Points?

That's because you used the block in the blue circle in the image in front of the cave exit. If you want the player to look up when you enter the cave and be able to exit the cave you have to use the block in the red circle just for the block in front of the cave exit where the warp is.

The Pokédex entries start at 0x44E84E (FR US v1.0) and they follow the National Dex order.
Each one is 36 byte long and the structure is the following:

[0000][Type (12 bytes)][Height in decimeters (2 bytes)][Weight in hectograms (2 bytes)]
[Description pointer 1 (4 bytes)][Description pointer 2 (4 bytes)][0000]
[Trainer scale (2 bytes)][Trainer offset (2 bytes)][Pokémon scale (2 bytes)][Pokémon offset (2 bytes)]

Let's see Mewtwo's entry, found at 0x44FD68 (FR US v1.0):

[52894408][B6894408][0000]
[1401][FFFF][5601][0500]

Each part is swapped except for the Pokémon type which is in clear text.
Description pointer 2 is unused in FR/LG and points to an End of String character (0xFF).
In this care the first description pointer points to 0x448952 where, using tables, you can see:

A POKéMON whose genetic code was repeatedly recombined for research.\nIt turned vicious as a result.[FF]

It's actually called a de-vamp, oh and ryan, you have to change the warp co-ordinates.

Open Pokeroms.ini. Go to the game in question, and find MonsterStats (or something like that) and REMOVE THE TAB BETWEEN IT AND THE =. Then it will work.

um... i have several questions to ask..

third, how do i change the name of attacks?

1. Advance Text is the easiest way to edit text, I think you should stay with Advance Text.
2. To change the choices, just look for them with Advance Text.
3. N-E-A (http://rhtools.scizz.com/index.php?dir=RSE/&file=N-E-A_05.zip) can edit Pokémon names and attack names.
4. If you're using R/S, you can use Dexter, or you can search for the description with Advance Text for any game and edit it.

@NightonEx: Right Click on some Empty Space on the Desktop or anywhere then click on new>New Folder Then Name it to Pallet Town or (Private Name)

You should try downloading it at WAH (Whack a Hack) and make sure you extract the rar or zip folder with WinZIP.
thats what I did before I have post here, and it didn't work.
can sombody here can give me link to A-text that does works?

It's kinda boring that you post the same question again... You already asked it here (http://www.pkmncommunity.com/showpost.php?p=2815863&postcount=2033). It's totally pointless to ask the same questions over and over again, don't you know? If nodoby answers, most of the times it simply means that maybe nobody can actually answer. Anyway, it looks like that for what you'd like to do some ASM hacking skills are required.

I need big help. I need someone who knows about APE. What is the Palette offset for the Main Male Character's Overworld Sprites, The Female Character's Overworld Sprites, The Male Character's Battle Sprite, The Female Character's Battle Sprite. If I knew how to find Palette Offsets then it would be much easier.

I also need to know why I can't insert my own Sprites in place of others into my ROM with UNLZ. It comes up with an error saying something like "Sprite data not specified". I want to replace the Pokemon sprites with Diamond and pearl ones. Thanks to anyone who helps as I need it ever so dearly. This will be a great hack once it's done I promise you.

OPen Advanced Map and go to Events View go to the bottom and increase the number of people, you should see the people script (Green P) and place it where you want. If you know the pkemon's sprite typ it in if not click the sprite in the menu next to INS Map and browse for it

Well, a simple way would be to give the trainer access to pokemon which are not on the Hoenn Dex, which would give them the National Dex. So that would mean changing the starters.

Rather annoyingly, Pokemon LeafGreen is unsupported by most hacking programs.

You should get FireRed.

I am currently working on inis for LeafGreen, and will post as soon as there done in the resources.

I have A hex editor, Starter Changer(don't need), APE, HackedUNLZ, A-text, A-mart, A-Battle, Advance map, A-color, a Wild Pokemon Editor(WPE), Diamond Cutter, EliteMap, Easy Script Maker, pokescript, ScriptED, OverworldeditorRE, SMCA, N-E-A, pokemon Amplifier, ScriptEditor(R/S) and PokeTronic.

well.., you could hex-edit them.., or just use Amplifier AP 2006 (or such.., I forgot...)...

Hex editing is Easy really. Don't let the Numbers and letters Confuse you. The all have meaning. With Hex you can do any thing:

Text
Script
Map(EXTREMELY Time Consuming)
ASM Hack
Palette hack
More Stuff I forgot


Hex is Really important to hackers, but most of them Are afraid of using it. If you've mastered Hex you have a perfect hack:) Even though I know how to do it, I'm still Learning

P.S. I need help with my hack too. Forget the Scripting part because I can script,but can't make them.:)

Well you might have to edit the scripts you want using ScriptEd(not the one in EliteMap). Otherwise you also could have the option of changing an event via a hex editor.

i moved a warp because i have changed the location of an entrace.
now if i enter from the outside is all regular, but if i go into warp from inside nothing happened...why?

Make sure the place where you put the warp is 1 tile in front on the white entrance.

If it's on top of the entrance it won't work.
Also you have to find the tile that has a "special" type by going into block editor and finding the regular "cave floor" tile that has a special "behavior".

You need the warp there to leave, leaving that tile blank will have no effect.

Did you remove the warp from the entrance? If you didn't then you should be able to access the cave.

Go into AdvanceMap.
Click "Events View"
Find the Warp, and move it up 1 square also.

Or if you did that.

Go to Map View.
And place the correct cave floor tile where the warp is located.

Your rom, your database, and pretty much everything have to be in the same folder.
Make sure they are.

You have to have Diamond Cutter and the scripts in the EliteMap Folder, then Open Diamond Cutter and click a Script and ok. If you did it wrong then It's going to say Subscript out of range. But if you did it right, then you will see a Pop-up(Notepad) entitled: rkclog it will tell you it is finished Processing.

First off you need to index the sprite, by exporting the one you want to replace and then paste your sprite over the one you exported. If the colours come up wrong, check the Pallete Offset in UnLZ.GBA and use Advanced Pallete Editor to the edit that sprites colours.

You can't edit moves in PA, you can just edit which pokémon learn the moves and at which levels.

Why is it that when I create a new Warp for a house in a town the warp always leads to the wrong entrance, or sometimes it may just warp me to the middle of the room I was entering! How do I fix this because sometimes when I warp to the middle of the room I get stuck in objects. I'm sure that the Warp Numbers on both the exit and the entrance match and the Map Bank and Map Number are all correct. Can anyone help me?

I mean the top value is the one that matches with the other warp. The second and third are just to make the warp lead to the right place.

I know, but the top value shouldn't match with the other warp's top value but with its "event number" at the top of the box with the warp's details.

You could have to edit the stats or Pokemon via searching through a hex editor.

Moves can be edited in N-E-A_05, look for that tool. To edit what a move does you might have to use hex.

Like the folder named "ini". If you are talking about inserting a new map in the game, then you can do that by clicking the "insert" button next to the "New Map" button.

I've searched for this everywhere but can't find it anywhere, is there a way to edit the background during the intro, so basically edit the black screen behind the professer and player? If I need to use unZl or something similar then could you give me the number or at least the offsets. Thanks in advance!

I did a search, and seemed to be unable to find anything- truth be told, I was unsure exactly what I should search for as I'm really new to all this hacking business.

On several occasions, I have encountered this problem: I put a 'Person' onto my map in the event screen, give them their correct sprite (in my case it's Roxanne.) and their script offset (which is the basic script from Irish Witch's tutorial which I'm testing.) number and then I save my map, and then save my rom and then do my usual patching business. However when everything loads , instead of my NPC being in the middle of the screen it's in the upper left corner and reverted back to the basic Brendan (0) sprite.

What am I doing wrong? I'm assuming I missed something here. Also, in regards to scripts and offsets, I only have top type in the script offset in the events screen I get from pokescript, I don't have to click the 'Change Events' button do I?

Also, is there a way to test a hack works without having to patch it because it takes up too much time?

Sorry that I'm asking so much, especially really basic stuff. ._.

I don't think that it is the clerks script. I think its a script inbuilt into the map.

Not sure, I haven't tried it yet, but I remember in a hack(can't remember the name) that there was a givepokemon command at the start, for mew and it didn't listen. I'm not sure about deoxys.

1.|Hex Editor, Don't be lazy everyone should know how to do this, if you don't then go to "zel's Homemade Tutorials" in the documents/tutorials section.

2.|Just make New people, with scripts that either Activate Gym Badges, or Give HM's and Activates' badges. Simple.

1.|Hex Editor. Open VBA, play till the beginning(Oak Talk) Then go to tools > map Viewer, Press Bg 1, click on the color you want to change[Write The R(ed)G(reen)B(lue) Values Down], then go to Palette viewer. After that find the color[s] you want to change in the first Row, Since I'm Nice I'll Write Down what to Search For)(and remember you have to switch it up: 7545 - 75 45 - 45 75 - 4575) it should be:
0000 2824 4A46 8D4E D056 135F 5667 996F DC77 → That is All the background colors
0000 2824 4A46 8D4E D056 135F 5667 996F DC77 1F7C 1F7C 6009 1F00 4665 FF7F 8410 → That is the whole row.
Now Search in hex editor and once you find it, You can Replace with other colors(NOTE 1) after that you hit save and you're finished.

NOTE 1 =: You can get different colors using A-Color(in the "Advanced Palette Editing" located within the documents and Tutorials section by: Semele)First open Paint, then Click a color then go to Colors → edit colors → Deine custom colors and click a color and at the bottom left corner they give you "R G B" Values. Put those values in A-color and it will give you a color and the "4-digit" hex value for it.
HAPPY NOW!!.

RsBall dosen't seem to want to load the first 13 sprites of fire red, i try to dump the gfx and there still black, and this is vital due to the fact that i want to edit Fire Red... Am i doing something wrong?

If by the Hoehn map you mean altering it so that you can fly to new location which you've created on a custom map I believe that there is a thread in Rom Hacking with info on this.

For the next two question have a look in Script Tutorials where you'll be able to find info on both Trainers and items. Might I recommend Foullump, zel or IrishWitch's tutorials.

I find the text I want to change, doesn't really matter.

Question 1: Do I calculate the pointer on the first byte of the text, or the 00 before it?

Okay, I've tried both. I got the pointer for 181B8F(just an example, don't search for it)which is 5B 8F, right? Flip the bytes, 8F 5B, and I search 4C 8F 5B, 4C being the display text: 2 byte pointer code. Nothing. What am I doing wrong?

I think you'll have to ask Blazichu. There is a pointer calculator that comes with a program....I'm trying to remember....I think it's Hack-O-Matic for Gold version(a mapping program).
Can I help with your Gold hack, I can't Script, but I can map, text, palette hack, Title screen(Colors, not the Ho-Oh)Insert Graphics, and I can tell you to how to repoint map connections if you didn't already know.

Um, I am having problems with compiling. I have downloaded:
ScriptEd, But when i compile, it gives me this message:
Loading command database...
Empty command database detected. Program halted.
Poke Script: When i load a rom in Bufrite it freezes

Diamond Cutter: it says that the file i am using is not found.

Please can someone tell me what to do, I am very confused.

Do you mean, all it shows is jirachi, or is it a full list. Oh and to add D/P pokemon, D/P pokemon aren't inbuilt into a FR rom so they can't be placed in with advance map unless you, Use the extra 20/25 places or replace existing Kanto/Johto/Hoenn pokemon with DP pokemon.

1) Goto the Tutorials Section and look for the tutorial on replacing Pokemon Pics using UnLz (or whatever..?)
2) Download PokeAmp or Elite Map (< EM contains BaseEditor)
3) Using either BaseEditor or PokeAmp yo are able to change Pokemon stats/evolutions and whatnot
4) To change Moves you must use PAttED which is found in Elite Map also.

You mean big, pixel-like "??"? I only know that in PokePic they are placed between Celebi and Treecko, from number 252 to 276. In unLZ they should be also after Celebi.

Get N-E-A(Name editor advance), I think you can find it in the toolbox's resource section, this can change the names of pokemon

I haven't chcecked it, that's a surprise. If you won't find them in unLZ, use PokePic. IMO It's the last "emergency" way.
To add more attacks, try Pokemon Amplifier 2006 (search for it on scizz's tools site, it should be there).

Try looking in the toolbox section. There should be a pokescript thread there for it.
And about the tutorials, look in the documents and tutorials section, there should be one by Irish Witch and one by foullump. If your just beginning I recommend foullump's tutorial.

I am going to release a pokemon hack where you can go to kanto, johto, hooen and shinoh. I already did maping and spriting and all the other stuff. I just need scripts. So that is why I am so bothering you.

I scanned the thread but, believe me guys, I got a lot to do and I don't have time to look through 90 pages of replies as I devote what time I have on the computer working on my hack. While hacking, I stumbled upon a small glitch and I kinda feel stupid because it's a mapping glitch and mapping is usually my strong suit. well, here's the screenie of the glitch:

I think the postion is off set. I mean, when you goto the direction manger, there will be numbers like -12 and 12. Check those, they could be off..

What do you mean? do you need to replace the sprites because there mucked up?If yes, I hope you have a back up because otherwise you'll have to start again.

Basically iwant to put in some DP sprites, I'm not sure how to insert completely new sprites though. Whenever I try it doesn't work and I v'e seen pople who've done it.

In secret bases' maps, you'll see events hidden with a people ID. Add more events in the map with the same ID, the number of the events in there is the number of things you can use in secret bases.

Your starting map has Cerulean's tileset, and the other route has Palett's tileset. That's why those blocks are like that. If you enter the route it'll be normal, because the blocks in Palett's tileset are the ones that should be there. You should have the same tileset for the route as the starting map or use blocks from the first tileset only for a few blocks from the part that the two maps are connected so that the player can walk a bit when entering the map so that the second tileset can change.

First, use RsBall to repoint palettes. "??" won't appear in b&w anymore. Then, use PokePic to change its sprites.

1) Is PokePic supposed to be in German and only work for RS?
2) When I edit the pictures and then load them up on RS Ball how am I supposed to replace them? I click import and then pick a sprite but it just screws up the ???
3) How are we supposed to know what palletes to use?

Does anyone have a detailed guide to exchanging Pokemon for DP Pokemon?

EDIT: How do you add new moves to a Pokemon? Using Patted I can't change the ammount of attacks Pokemon have... how do you change a Pokemons name?

To add moves use Poke Amp 2006. The 2006 version is really good. It's like a flash game only it's a program.

If you mean something like the box used with SG's Phonebooth(If you've seen it) that is actually a pretty complicated script that doesn't really have just a box, but a 'multi' command. I've only seen zel use this script so far. I don't think I've seen it in any other hacks(except for text editing it). I'm trying to figure out how to write it but I'm having trouble with trying to figure it out. If someone knows how to do this, I'd love to know how to write it. Sorry I wasn't much help there destinedjagold.
