rmdownloads has everything you'll need to get started. www.rmdownloads.com (http://www.rmdownloads.com) I think.

How do you add chipsets to the game?

Ive started a minigame just to get to grips with the system so...

Go to Tools>Resource Manager, select the chipset folder, click import, done. Or you can paste it into the chipset folder through windows explorer. Run: C:/Program Files/ascii/rpg2000/project/project/chipset
or wherever you have your game.

Go to the second tab in your event command list (double click the <>) and select "Teleport." That changes your hero's location map to map. So make a teleport event on the outside going to the inside, and don't forget to have one on the inside as well so you can get out:D

shoot, I just wrote like a whole tutorial for you about tileset settings, but I lost it. Oh well, let's try again.

Think of it this way: there are three levels: stuff you step on, stuff you bump into, and stuff you walk under. When you go to the database (F8), click Tileset (Chipset for 2k) and select the chipset you are having problems with. Click Passibility, and now you can click on a tile to change it's level. When it is a circle, you walk over it. When it is an X, you can't walk through it. When it is a star, you walk under it. Make sure all your floor tiles are circles. Did that help?

Also, I am writing a tutorial on the basics and advanced aspects of pokemon game making. It won't be ready for a long time though.

Giving up is never good.

Once you've put the file in the folder, go to your database (F8) and click the Animations tab. Make a new animation (increase "Max Field Number") and select your file at the top. Now click the frame at the bottom and click in the middle. You animation will appear in the frame. Now you need to go to each frame (scrolly thing on the left with the numbers 1-20) and make your animation frame by frame. Now you can call it in battle or in an event by going to the second tab and finding "show battle animation." Did that help?
