I have a question! EVs are Effort Values, right? What exactly are Effort Values (EVs)?

Simon
July 20th, 2004, 10:31 AM
Yes EVs stand for Effort Values. Read the FAQ for an explanation. There's a section all about EVs in there, written by me. If you can't find it in there. press CTRL+F, and type in 'EVs', without the quote mark thingy and jsut keep pressing "Find" until it reaches that section.

Thanx! I'll go check it out! <|^_^|>

Ok, I got a simple question. Where oh where do I find Slakoth? I'm playing on Sapphire, trying to top up my Pokedex, and it's one I have a lot of trouble finding, mostly cos I'm not even sure which route they are on...

Simon
July 20th, 2004, 09:07 PM
You cna find it in the Petalburg Forest. It's kinda rare.

Toothache
July 20th, 2004, 09:39 PM
Ok, thanks man. I'll go check that out :-)

Robert
July 21st, 2004, 07:55 AM
There is a small area of deep water surrounded by rocks on route 132. this looks just like sky pillar before it appears. so this is another secret island, right?

Simon
July 21st, 2004, 09:31 AM
That would be the area where you find the Regis Cave. You need to go there to be able to open up access to catch the 3 Regis. Refer to the FAQ for more information.

Hi,

Does anyone know codes for modifying attacks that work? I need the list and steps on how to do it. Cuz i need to teach my team some moves they dont have... Plz make sure they work. Tnkx :D

Simon

*ahem* This is the area for SImple Questions, not code requests. This needs to be in the Codes thread.

What is the Game Corner's Service Day about? On my game, it's tommorow.

Eh, it can't be very significant then. The only areas of importance along those routes in the sea is the Sky Pillar, Pacidlog Town. Mirage Island, and the Regis.

i think the corner's service day is when ur luck is increased in the game corner. u either have a better chance of winning, or u win more tokens, or a combo of both. i think u just have a better chance of winning, i was too lazy to check it out.

I just got Shedinja in a trade on Ruby. It is level 21 but it has an HP of 1. Can you raise its HP? If not why is it only 1?

Thanks

Toothache
July 23rd, 2004, 03:46 AM
No, regardless of level, Shedinja always has 1 HP. The reason for that is, it's ability, Wonder Guard, prevents all attacks that are not-super effective. However, it does not resist indirect attacks, like Sandstorm, and of course, any moves that Sheddy has a weakness to - Fire, Flying, Rock, Dark and Ghost.

Abusoru
July 23rd, 2004, 03:51 AM
Thanks again Toothache. So I won't be using her.

I just saw your "The Grandpappy of PC!". I got you beat by about 12 years.

Frostweaver
July 23rd, 2004, 04:14 PM
Shedinja kicks Kyogre butt... just keep that in mind and you'll start to like it alot ^^ Plus it's almost gurantee win against any rain dance themed team. I personally think that it's more fair if Shedinja has 3 hp instead, so it lasts 3 turns to most indirect, 2 turns to toxic, and still keep the theme of being OHKOed by confusion damage/SE attacks.

Shedinja is worth using at times...

Abusoru
July 24th, 2004, 03:06 AM
Well I need to catch Kyogre in my Sapphire game, so I will have to give her a try. Thanks frostweaver.

can you get a pokemon that learns theif on its own, or can you get theif twice?

Frostweaver
July 28th, 2004, 07:10 PM
Kecleon comes to my mind immediately... also Linoone knows Covet which is the same as theif. Poochyena learns it too.

Toothache
July 28th, 2004, 09:07 PM
Where do you get the evolution stones for Clamperl (Deepseatooth/Deepseascale), and which one makes Huntail and Gorebyss?

Master_Zangoose
July 28th, 2004, 09:16 PM
You get one or the other after delivering the scanner to the guy in the abandonned ship then talking to capt. stern. To get the scanner you must use dive in that room on the abandoned ship, the rest is easy enough to figure out.

Toothache
July 28th, 2004, 09:21 PM
Alright. Which Deepsea item gives me which Pokemon (I did ask that earlier, btw.. might have worded it wrong)

Deepseatooth > __________
Deepseascale > __________

Please, fill in 1 and 2 if you know. Thanks

You can find Jigglypuff on Route 115 in the grass.

Thank you very much Blade!

Now another question... How do Golbat and Ninjask evolve?

Edit: Thank you all for replying.

My last question is about Seadra's evolution. How do I get my Seadra to evolve into Kingdra?

Kenta-kun
July 30th, 2004, 08:58 AM
Golbat evolves when it is at the highest level of happiness possible, and then gains a level. Ninjask doesn't evolve; if u wanna get Shedinja, u hafta have a Pokball in your inventory and a free space in your party when Nincada evolves. As well as having a Ninjask, you'll also have a Shedinja

I just said....read the post right before yours, it explains how to get Shedinja

Iveechan
July 31st, 2004, 08:23 PM
I didn't want to read though 20 + pages of thread... so this may have been answered. But what does it take to make that guy in Slateport give your Pokemon a colored scarf? I know it's when a contest stat is maxed out, but he still tells me to feed it more Pokeblocks. Yes, I maxed out just one stat, but he still refuses to fork over the scarf. So what gives?

To Shining Latias: to get Seadra to evolve, you have to make it hold Dragon Scale while trading it over. Dragon Scales are held by wild Bagon and Horsea.

Arashi
August 2nd, 2004, 10:26 PM
To Iveechan: Thanks a lot. ^^

Now... I'll just put all my rest questions together.

Chimecho & Nosepass: Any special trick to find them?
Feebas: Fishing in water tiles. I've tried and I only find Carvanha. I need some explanation about it.

Please guys. These are the only Pokemon I need to find to complete my PokeDex in Ruby.

Simon
August 3rd, 2004, 12:37 AM
Chimecho is extremely rare. Nosepass I think you find from umm...using Rock Smash? I forgot how to get Nosepass. I don't know anhy special "tricks" besides codes.

Feebas only appears in 6 random water tiles along Route 119. That includes the water tiles you can fish in while surfing. I just recently discovered that I can fish while surfing...pfft. If you fish like 10 times in one tile you you don't find a Feebas chances are its not in that specific tile.

Toothache
August 3rd, 2004, 12:45 AM
Chimecho is found in the grass area at the top of Mt Pyre. Go to where you got the Blue/Red Orb, and go off to the side until you find grass near some gravestones. Chimecho will be there, but very rare (took me over an hour to find one).

Simon
August 3rd, 2004, 02:17 AM

I've got a question to do with breeding... though I'm not sure if it belongs here or not...

Okay, I know to get an Azurill, I need to breed two Marill or Azumarill. I also know one has to be holding a specific item. What I need to know is what the item is and where to get it! Can anyone out there help? ^_^;

BladeForever
August 3rd, 2004, 04:40 PM
it's called ''Sea Incense'' it's found on top of MT.Pyre (it can power up water moves as well)

Ehe, *feels really stupid* I've got another dumb question.

I can't get my trading links to work. I'm trying to trade a Pokemon from Silver to Saphire (namely, Typhlosion). I have successfully traded from Silver to Gold, and from Saphire to Ruby.... but Silver to Saphire won't work.

Any suggestions out there?

(Oh, and by the way, thank you BladeForever! I now have three lv 5 Azuril in my party that I am training up. One holds the everstone, as I never want it to evolve.)

Mew13, in answer to your question, Ruby and Sapphire are only compatible with each other, colleseum, and FireRed/LeafGreen. It will not trade to other games.

August 8th, 2004, 06:49 AM
Is it possible to obtain Hitmonlee, hitmonhan, hitmontop, or Tyrouge in any of the upcoming Pokemon titles? I dont think Colessium has them. but i may be wrong.

Simon
August 8th, 2004, 09:21 AM
It should be possible. FRLG is just a remake of Red and Blue/Green so you should be able to get them. And from what I've heard, the all the 1st and 2nd Generation Pokemon are in it so you can use them with 3rd Generation Pokemon from RS.

GymLeaderLance99
August 10th, 2004, 12:52 PM
In my Ruby cart, how can I get more Sun and Moon Stones? I've even tried Thief on wild Solrock.

Frostweaver
August 10th, 2004, 03:54 PM
wild Solrock DOES have Sunstone. Not always but it does, and it's pretty much the only way. Moon stone is an item you can pick up in Meteor Falls I believe, or you can theif it off Lunatone (but that's Sapphire).

GymLeaderLance99
August 10th, 2004, 06:03 PM
Okay. Thanks, Frostweaver. The other way to get a Sun Stone is to go to the Mossdeep Space Center, and talk to the people on the first floor, as I did. And I picked up that Moon Stone at M.F. but if I can only get one in Ruby, how can I get either Wigglytuff or Delcatty? Oh well. Maybe I'll just trade...

Simon
August 10th, 2004, 06:31 PM
I think you could try finding shards underwater then giving it to the Hunter. But I'm not sure if he does Sun and Moon stones.

Pichu, Azurill, Igglybuff and Wynaut are all available as baby forms of Pikachu, Marill, Jigglypuff and Wobbuffett, respectively. Cleffa (the only other one, baby form of Clefairy) is available in FR and LG.

Smoochum

Wynaut

I have a simple question. I tought(dont know if spelled right) I knew about EVs, but I really dont understand some things:

1- Why Rare Candys are so important in R/S for Ev raising? I dont understand that.

2- Where can I find the so called EV FAq or EV Guide?

2- Where can I find the so called EV FAq or EV Guide?

Rare Candy is useful for EV training as a method of raising your level without affecting your EV score (very important). EV training can begin as low as around L12-14 if you're just after HP, but if you want other stats to gain EV then you'll need to raise to around the L30-40 region. At this point you'll be able to OHKO most of the common sources for EV.

The EV guide can be found here (http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=185) - it's part of the main FAQs section of this very forum.

Thanks Toothache ^_^! Aahh... Now I understand...
Another question:

Can anibody suggest me a good water pokmon for my ruby game?

I have Gyarados, but realised it has really low Special Attack...

Toothache
August 20th, 2004, 03:11 AM
Good Water types include Tentacruel, Kingdra and Lanturn. All of them are very useful for different purposes. I'd personally use Kingdra the most (only one weakness), but Lanturn can Thunderdance as well, and has good defences. Gyarados makes for a better physical sweeper, stick Dragon Dance on him if you can and let him rip.

doomsday_shadow

August 20th, 2004, 06:42 PM
A simple question about slaking, actually three of them..
1. is Vigoroth a better pokemon?
2. Choice banding+hyper beam. is that the best thing for Slaking?
3. Will hyper beam cause this: first move, hit. second move, loafing. third move, exhausted?

Simon
August 20th, 2004, 07:59 PM
Adam, ask about codes in the Codes thread, not the simple questions.

1. Slaking's stats are better overall in my opinion.
2. Possibly. Hyper Beam with it's already high attack power and STAB+extra from choice band is enough damage to OHKO most Pokemon. But if it comes across a Ghost type, Slaking is done.
3. First: Hyper Beam Second: Loafing Third: Hyper Beam again

The Traunt ability cancels out the exhausted effect of hyper beam.

I've got a simple question about Azuril. I tried breeding two Marill together and instead of getting the Azuril I wanted I got another Marill. But this thought popped into my head, so I'm asking to make sure. Do I have to breed two Azuril together to get an Azuril?

Simon
August 22nd, 2004, 03:29 PM
You breed to 2 Marills or Azumarils to get a Azuril. But one of the Marills or Azumarills have to be holding Sea Incense.

theres only one timer ball unless you use codes and no you have to beat the elite four befor you can catch the regis

Yes, you can get the Regis before beating the Elite Four. I just never bothered with them until after the E4. Never saw a use for them

You can buy Timer Balls from the Rustboro PokeMart for 1000 bucks each.

What is the location of all the rare candies in the game and all the vitimins in the game?

Simon
August 22nd, 2004, 08:56 PM
Erm...there aren't a lot of Rare Candies in the game just laying around. I've actually never found any before. Try using Linoone's Pick Up ability and see if that 5 percent (could be more...) chance of picking up a Rare Candy comes through for you.

Same goes for the second question. You can buy them though. Sometimes the guy seliing them in Slateport sells them for half-price if you see his ad on TV.

Found Often
Super Potion (30%)

Found Sometimes
Ultra Ball (10%)
Full Restore (10%)
Full Heal (10%)
Revive (10%)
Rare Candy (10%)
Nugget (10%)

Found Rarely
Protein (5%)
PP Up (4%)

Found Very Rarely
King's Rock (1%)

(from pokefor.tk)

Do note that pickup for a MAJOR nerf in FRLG ;_; but it still pickup rare candy at a 10% rate.

thsi is wat screwed me over on pickup, so make sure Zigzagoon (or Linoone) isn't holding an item, cause that is how they pick it up (i always thought that after the battle it would say something like: Zigzagoon found a ......). Also, check back on it often to see if it got nething.

Frostweaver
August 23rd, 2004, 06:57 PM
Nope. It doesn't tell you when pick up activates. You just have to check your Pokemon party if the Pickup Pokemon has an attached item for no apparent reason. Detach the attachment on the pickup Pokemon, and it'll be the pickup item.

ok here's a less than brainy question...I look in my pokedex to see
what area nosepass appears and it looks like it's in the water just
NW of dewfor island only...there's no grass areas there it's just baren
little patches of land or trees

am I wrong and it just appears in the cave where you first meet steven?
and on what level and how rare is it to find one?

Simon

Yes..it appears i nthe Granite Cave. You find it by smashing rocks. Not sure about rarity.

Toothache

Nosepass is fairly rare, and only found by smashing rocks in the Granite Cave. Took me a good while to find one. Don't forget if you run out of rocks to smash, leave the area in which they are in, then come back, and the rocks will respawn.

Recommended strategy for fighting Rayquaza is this:

Have Shedinja with these 4 moves:
Swords Dance
False Swipe
Protect
Silver Wind (any move here really)

Whenever Rayquaza uses Fly, use Protect. For any other move, you are immune to their effects. Use Swords Dance to boost your attack power, and then use False Swipe. Rayquaza will eventually be at 1 HP, but won't die. Chuck Ultra Balls until he's caught.

Doesnt nicada evolve at level 20? if he does then how do u get it to evolve after it has false swipe

Stop it's evolution? Give it a Everstone until it learns False Swipe and then evolve it. Sheddy should still be there.

KaeL

Simon
August 26th, 2004, 02:55 PM
Sheddy doesn't appear until Nincada evolves. Since you stop Nincada from evolving into Ninjask, you can teach Nincada False Swipe by not letting it evolve. The once it learns False Swipe, let it evolve and Sheddy should appear with FW.

Ignore all previous answers to this question....
If u abort evolution on the set lvl that a pokemon evolves [in this case Nincada at lvl 20] then that pokemon will try to evolve every lvl up after that.

To get false swipe onto Shedinja abort evolving nincada for 5 lvls then when it does learn that move then proceed with the normal evolution.

Robomecha thanx, any idea how i could get my miltoc toxic? cause i could get a new one with refresh, recover, toxic, and confuse ray

Use the TM to get toxic....PS that moveset needs surf over something [refresh IMO] and i also think ice beam but that one is not nessary.

none of them - first is dark, second is ghost, third has hail, forth has fly [i believe but please correct me if i am wrong] and the last has ancient power and a ton of other SE moves...

2. My check the topic on STATS OF YOUR BEST POKEMON to see my other Miltocs moveset, but the Miltoc im trying to make was used on PoKeMoN ColosseuM on me and it killed all 3 of my pokemon. I dont think it had refresh but still this Trap moveset is worth trying out IMO.

Frostweaver
August 27th, 2004, 08:30 PM
1. Toxic is also a TM in GSC and also in this generation as well. There are plenty of other TMs that are just carried over, such as earthquake.

2. Never believe in any moveset made by anything official, especially from strategy guides or Nintendo. They will ALWAYS suck. I think that you lost in Pokemon Col. maybe due to levels, money problems and item shortage.

3. Not like those items are ever useful at all, but for collector's value... all of them has 10% chance

Abra has Twisted spoon
Magnemite and Magneton have Metal Coat
Doduo and Dodrio have Sharp Beak

Dragon Fang is given by Nicholas in Meteor Falls

Ice demon
August 27th, 2004, 09:02 PM

Why do you have to turn off the electricity in New Mauville? It seems pointless to me.

Wailmer Pail, does it really make your berry grow? I've heard some people saying they don't water the berrys but they grow anyway...

Frostweaver
August 28th, 2004, 03:02 AM
Turning off the electricity is needed to gain access to some rooms I believe.

As for watering the berry, it will make it so that the berry tree produces more berries, which is a must-do thing as some of the rare berries will only produce one berry (which is pointless because you use one berry and you're planting it so it grows one berry? So be sure to water your berries, especially the rare ones like the promotional berries and enigma and some from E-card). But if you plant your berry in places where you got natural rain, then you don't have to do the watering! ^-^

In the name of game balance, Milotic does not have mean look or spider web, so it cannot fulfill the role. So you'll have to make do with surf, or get another Pokemon as a toxictrapper (and toxictrapper can be rather weak and vulnerable, because it's taunt-bait.)

Frostweaver
August 28th, 2004, 10:05 PM
It only affects thunder. It's just that all the other electric move either has perfect accuracy or 100% base accuracy. Under the rain, thunder's BASE ACCURACY increase to 100%, but 6 double teams can still mess you over. It's BASE ACCURACY, not FINAL ACCURACY. Don't treat it as aerial ace.

To get PokRus, on serebii.net it says you have to engage in a battle with a wild pokmon (or something like that), does that mean I just have to make a wild pokmon come up and then I can run away from it, or that you have to make an attack on it?

What is National Dex and what does it do?

In order to get more trainers to fight you, I've noticed you have to be in the same area of the trainer themselves, but that dosen't work on various trainers, is there some other way to get more trainers to fight you?

Gym leaders are also on the Trainers Eye, does that mean you can fight them again some time?

There are a pair of TV reporters, one interviewer and one Camera man that are on three places, first north of Mauville, then east of Mauville after swimming over, and then east of the Treehouse-Town, if you beat them they want to interview you, is it something special that happens when you get interviewd except you're on TV?

In Slateport city, there is a pokmon fan club house with an interviewer inside, she can then interview you, when you look at the interview on th TV, she gives the letter score, what is the maximum of score you can get and do you get anything if you get full score?

Simon
August 29th, 2004, 03:35 AM
Pokerus: No idea. Never got it without cheats.

NationalDex is just a PokeDex that registers all 386 Pokemon. Nothing special in my opinion. You can get the NationalDex in RS either by cheating or trading with FRLG. You get the NDex in FRLG by capturing 60 different Pokemon, then defeat the Elite Four.

I don't know, but my sister just flies around the map and going down the list of Trainer Eyes and they all seem to be ready to battle again after 5 min or so.

No. But if you beat all 8 Gym leaders without cheats that modify your badges, then put on one of those codes that give you all 8 badges, you can battle them again for a second time.

Nothing special happens.

No idea...never talked to her before.

Mr Cat Dog
August 29th, 2004, 07:02 AM
I'll try and answer some of the unanswered questions:

I'm not sure, but it would make sense to attack it, since the Pokemon isn't exactly going to make contact with it in any other way (as viruses are spread that way in real life).

If you go to and from their area a couple of times (about 10 or so), they should want to battle again.

I would assume it would be 100, since that's a nice round number... but it could be anything :/

What is pokemon 386? please explaine to me

Simon
August 29th, 2004, 08:40 PM
Pokemon 386 is where all 386 Pokemon are involved. I only hear this term in battling so it's probably for that. 202 is for the 202 Pokemon that can be obtained normally in RS without trading to FRLG. Maybe someone can tell you more, like frostweaver.

Ice demon
August 29th, 2004, 08:47 PM
Well thats what is refered to as all the pokemon generations in one - all the teams/move tutor moves and all the pokemon[ie FRLG or v 9.3 NB]

not too sure if i made myself clear but i tried ^_^......may want frosty to clear it up for u..

Frostweaver
August 29th, 2004, 09:15 PM
Pokemon 202 is all the Pokemon you can record within your Pokedex using the default Pokdex you get in Ruby and Sapphire. This includes all the Pokemon you get without using the National Dex. Pokemon movesets are also restricted to any legal moves that you can get by strictly trading within Ruby and Sapphire only. Only the Ruby/Sapphire form of Deoxys is allowed.

Anything found in the National Dex is the "386" Pokemon, meaning all the Pokemon ever created up to Ruby and Sapphire. Movesets include everything in Ruby, Sapphire, Pokemon Box, Pokemon Colesseum, Fire Red, Leaf Green, and the soon released Pokemon Emerald. Any form of Deoxys is allowed.

Pokemon 202 and Pokemon 386 are just battling terms regarding divisions. You won't ever hear this word outside of the internet.

In the museum, on the second level of the building there stands a man you can talk to, theres also some frames in different colours in them, whats up with that? does it have something to do with pokemon contests (thinking of the colours) or maybe the paintings you can buy from the big mall..?

and mirage island, all pokemons got an id right? and if a pokemon you have has that ID that same day mirage island pops up, right? but how does it really work? is it just the pokemon in your party that counts?

1. Probably.

2. Win a Master Rank Pokemon Contest with 5 or more hearts when they total up your scores. If that doesn't work, try talking to the curator inside the museum, the artist near the entrance inside, and the art buyer near the outside before winning the contest.

3. FAQ.

OK, another question concerning Mirage Island, and this didn't stand in the FAQ so pleas refrain from directing me there. All Pokmons get a secret number, that I know, but the number of the day, could that be

1) ANY number

2) One number that a Pokmon you have has

3) Any number of all Pokmon, even those you don't have

Simon
August 31st, 2004, 08:20 AM
It's just a randomly generated number that's probably based on nothing. It's like closing your eyes and pressing a bunch of random keys.

As for Mirage Island, it's based on the gender number being "0."

Np Frost, just wanted to no if there was a 386... As for what adam said.... Kael your talking about Chimecho thats not the #386 pokemon its #151 they probably just messed up Is that true?

Simon

Eh, the PokeDexes have so many versions with the National and Hoen and blah blah. I don't think they messed up at all.

Which cames have the nationaldex? And what does it do?

Simon
August 31st, 2004, 07:08 PM
Gah...

All four games (RSFRLG) have the NationalDex. All it does is lets you view all 386 Pokemon in your Dex when you capture them. You can get the NDex in FRLG by beating the E4 when you've captured 60+ Pokemon. Then Prof. Oak will give you it. You can get the NDex in RS by trading between RS and FRLG.

Frostweaver
August 31st, 2004, 07:11 PM
Well number 386 is Deoxys on Nationaldex, and Chimecho is one of the 386 Pokemon. There's nothing new, but just rather questionable why Chimecho is there instead of the national dex number. I think it's related to some mysterious "blank Pokemon slots" in the codes that's rather questionable why they're there (those slots would be like the "?" Pokemon). I forgot all those theories now...

National dex is just the pokedex with 386 Pokemon. It's unlocked for RS if you try to trade to another game like FRLG.

Simon
August 31st, 2004, 07:12 PM
Whatever the case...shouldn't something regarding the NationalDex be in the FAQ? Seems like it's been asked a lot recently.

Toothache
September 1st, 2004, 03:05 AM
Actually, the National Dex isn't unlocked by trading between Colosseum, only with Fire Red and Leaf Green (I have all my Colosseum Pokemon on my Sapphire cart, and still no sign of a National Dex).

Are bug type pokemon(like wurble)good?

Kenta-kun
September 1st, 2004, 08:17 PM
Yes, bug types can be very useful Beautifly is a VERY versatile Pokmon. Also, bugs are almost as good as Darks in terms of anti-psychics

Simon
September 1st, 2004, 09:33 PM
The only good bug-type in my opinion is Heracross and Ninjask. Ninjask=Deoxys/Mewtwo/other oober psychic pwner and BPer. Heracross is a reversal abuser.

Yanma, Pinsir, Armaldo, Scyther and Scizor are all very usable as well. Shedinja can be helpful in 202 too.

What pokemon do you have to breed wit bagon to get a egg that will hatch into bagon?

if this is in the wrong place please tell me so i can correct it..thank you

Simon
September 2nd, 2004, 06:25 PM
The egg hatches into whatever the female is. It will only hatch into a Bagon if the Bagon you are breeding with is the mother. Let's say...

Dragonite (female) breeds with Bagon (male)
Egg=Dragonite because that's what the mother is

Bagon (female) breeds with Dragonite (male)
Egg=Bagon because the mother is a Bagon

And I am NOT saying that breeding a Dragonite with Bagon will get you a Bagon. And maybe this should be in the Breeder's Corner instead...

And try reading the Breeding Guide in the FAQ.

And Kael, I find that the best berries for PokeBlocks are the stat boosters. So..Liechi and Petaya. You can get Liechi on Mirage Island. Not sure about Petaya. And there's always codes...

I don't know the codes for the berries on GSSP. Ask around...

Overwhelming Latias is one phrase. Can't remember which berry it gives, but it's for a high level Pokeblock (L45+)

Tesla7zap
September 3rd, 2004, 02:22 PM
You can get all berrys, you have to get the TM Thief and then got to battle tower, a majority of them has the super rare berries which you, I think, can steal from them using Thief.

I got a question too. Mystery Event, what is it? I tried to connect the GBA to my pal's GameBoy Advance and then we used Mystery Event, but there were connection error. It worked to mix records. What is this? Is it just for special Nintendo events such as getting the ticket to get to Southern Island or does it have a general purpose?

EDIT: Wow, I made the 700th post in this thread!

Along with any indirect damage move such as spike or leech seed. I think we've talked about that a LOT already.

another question..... the girl left from Lilycove which gives you berrys (Rare Berry girl i think she's called) is supposed to give you rare berries, however Figy berries isn't so rare after she hands me the 5000000th one...I want Wiki.... How do I do so I get another berry from her or is it random?

How long does it take for berries that u planted to grow(i planted mine in the rain if that makes a difference)

Tesla7zap
September 4th, 2004, 04:52 PM
The time it takes to grow a berry varies from berry to berry, a rawst takes pretty fast to grow and Pamtre a long time to grow. Water them often (especially with Lum and other rare berries), as they will grow faster if you do, and you will get more of them. Yes rain do affect the grow of berries, however, several times I just planted new berries without watering them during rain and the berries I had planted there was not there anymore, so water it anyway if its raining.

Frostweaver
September 4th, 2004, 05:05 PM
If you got the Wailmer Pail (forgot the exact name), then just talk to the patch of soil where you put the berry in... then it'll automatically ask you if you want to water it.

I'm guessing it's the "Berry Glitch" caused when the internal clock runs out. Take it to a GameStop to get it fixed in a few minutes.

Since it's a female, breed it again until you get a male Corsola. Every egg you get should be another Corsola since the female is a Corsola and whatever Pokemon the mother is will be whatcomes popping out.

Yes...Feebas appears on ANY tile of water along Route 119.

KaeL
September 9th, 2004, 06:23 PM
Yes, and out of all the water in route 119 feebas in in 6 tiles... use the old rod, and when u change the saying it resets the 6 tiles to a different place... so i guess one strategy would be to change the phrase and fish in one spot, but i suggest fishing in each tile 5 times with the old rod.

Okay, this is a pretty simple question, and I'm sure I know the answer but I want to make sure.

I already have a game saved on Pokemon Ruby (very advanced too, I have Groudon and the 3 Regis). Anyway, my flatmate wants to start his own game of Ruby (using my cartridge) but is worried about wiping my game data.

What I want to know is, will starting a new game erase any previous game data (in other words, can you have 2 different games on the same cartridge at the same time)?

Also, if I chose to delete a saved game, would it delete all games, or just the selected one?

Toothache
September 10th, 2004, 01:33 AM
Unfortunately, there is only one save file on each cartridge, so if you were to start again and save, you would lose the previous data (and all your hard work).

Toothache
September 10th, 2004, 01:52 PM
Secret bases add a bit of unique element to the game, as well as being able to train against a friend's Pokemon once a day (which is great for some XP). I can at least offer my current selection of 2 L100 Pokemon for some huge XP
