I was thinking of naming the seven evolutions after the Seven Lucky Gods, but I can't leave poor Eevee all alone like that. D:

Well I named Azelf Freya to go with Chii, and Elda. Mesprit, and Uxie.
Because of the whole knowledge, willpower, and emotion thing.

I almost decided I'd name them after the planets in our solar system.

You could try naming them after the seven sisters of Greek mythology: Maia, Electra, Taygete, Alcyone, Celaeno, Sterope, and Merope. Of course, that's only 7, so you'd have to find another name for Eevee, and also, those seven names are girl names. If you have 7 girls and one boy, you could name the boy Bacchus, since the seven sisters were nursemaids to Bacchus (according to Wikipedia).

Vaporeon-Poseidon(God of the Sea)
Jolteon-Zeus(God of the Sky/uses lightning bolts)
Flareon-Hades(God of the Underworld/underworld is associated with fire)
Those are the original evos so I gave them the three main gods.
Eevee-Hermes(Messenger of the Gods/if you try hard enough that can relate to eevee being the one that evolves)
Espeon-Athena(Goddess of wisdom)
Umbreon-Ares(God of War/war can be associated with darkness)
Leafeon-Demeter(Goddess of agriculture)
Glaceon-Dionysus(God of wine...okay that has no relation whatsoever, but none of the other gods did either...)

Glaceon could be prometheus (if going with greek names) because the winter months are caused by prometheus's visiting the underworld and making demeter goddess of the agriculture weep

Mr. Altosax, I think Umbreon and Flareon should be switched, even if the main 3 eons don't match with the main 3 gods. I see more fire in war and more darkness in the underworld. Of course, you could try to name Flareon after Hephaestus, but that word might be one character too many.

Yeah I thought about Umbreon as Hades and Flareon as Ares as well. And actually I haven't studied much...I'm just reading a series of books that involves Greek Mythology a lot, and it's getting me interested. I'm not actually sure about what each of the gods have done to link to their types exactly. I was actually looking at a webpage for what the gods were of, while giving most of the names.

I also thought about Medusa for Glaceon because she turns "freezes" people into statues, but she isn't actually a God so I decided not to.
