hey guys, I don't know about you guys but I like to sometimes raise
mono-type pokemon teams.
I try and follow certain rules when doing this.

#1 , No Legendary pokemon

#2 , all moves must be either from learnable TM/HM's , egg moves, or
naturally learned level up moves.

#3 , they should all have one move of the team's type.
I.E. a psychic team, all pokemon would have a psychic type move.
at least one.

ok anyway here's a few of my mono-type teams.

Once I get my hands on a Leaf Green game, I'm starting work on a Dark team.

Houndoom

Sunny Day
Solarbeam
Crunch
Flamethrower

Crawdaunt

Crabhammer
Ice Beam
Crunch (Finally, a better Dark move than Knock Off for 'Daunt. Thank you FR/LG)
[Unknown]

Cacturne

Faint Attack
Needle Arm/Giga Drain
Leech Seed
Toxic/Ingrain

Mightyena

Body Slam
Crunch
Poison Fang
Iron Tail

Absol

Swords Dance
Slash
Aerial Ace
Faint Attack (Have to have that Dark move in there ;) )

Tyranitar

Surf
Flamethrower

It's basically only a gimmick squad, because I like Dark types. I'll end up raising pretty much all of them eventually. (Except Umbreon/Murkrow/Sneasel. Been there, done that in Gold.)

Oooh, I've got a few of these. Here they are, no movesets though... I can't be bothered to go and check:

Water

Lanturn
Kingdra
Swampert
Milotic
Sharpedo
Gyarados

Ground:

Swampert
Camerupt
Sandslash
Flygon
Claydol
Rhydon

I don't think I have any more, although - saying that, I haven't played on RuSa either...

I've never built a mono-type team because if they hppen to have the right type to counter it, then your dead meat. LIke that ground type, for example. Good water of flying types should do the trick.

Very true.. of course, I shouldn't talk, my team really hates ice...

Not necessarily. The movesets you give them can make or break a mono-team. For example, in my Water team, I think about half of them know Ice Beam purely to protect the team from Grass Pokemon. Also, Swampert and Gyarados know Earthquake, making it powerful against Electric Pokemon. In my Ground team, Camerupt is good as it knows moves that take down all of Ground's weaknesses - Flamethrower, Rock Slide, and Hidden Power Grass (too bad it can't learn Solarbeam). So, it all depends on the moveset you give them to see if mono-teams can survive.

P.S. Flying isn't super-effective against Ground. Only Water, Ice and Grass.

Er, this thread isn't for that. This thread is to post teams that are mono-type. Also, Rayquaza and Latios are both Dragon - so you've broken your thing that says you train different types of Pokemon.

It depends really. An all-Grass team would most likely get stomped by anything, what with their many weaknesses and the popularity of Ice Beam, etc. Whereas a Dark or Psychic squad may fair much better. There aren't many common Fighting/Bug moves to counter Darks (Brick Break, yes. But that's one move), and Psychics are ok until they come up against a Dark type themselves, or a Shadow Ball user with a hefty Attack stat.

Oh well... even if it's 0:9 record so far, I don't thnk that I do all that bad against that Skarmory/Regice/Wheezing/Medicham/Jolteon/Ninjask and what other common Pokemon nowadays... it's not about winning, but using a team that's not standard ^^
