Hunting Chansey

I'm hunting down chanseys' to get a Lucky Egg but so far no luck at all only Oval Stones. Am i wasting my time or should i keep trying?

Well, I tried the same thing and didn't get any results since it's like a 5% chance. So try the next possible options if you're not a lucky person. Trade for one or hack if you don't have wifi.
It's probably better to use Thief instead of catching them if you're not already.

Well im hunting on route 210 with my Luxio using theif on every chansey i see should i keep hunting here or should i move to route 209?

Well you can try the other route... It's the same chances for both routes to find a Chansey with Lucky Egg. ._. Luxio isn't holding any items though right? ;P

My friend has a different method of getting Lucky Eggs. Using a Kadabra he caught from Victory Road (I think...) it knows Trick. So he just uses Trick and switches held items with the Chansey, if it doesn't have it, just run and try again.

Yeah but doesn't every Chansey in Diamond and Pearl hold an Oval Stone if they aren't holding a Lucky Egg?

I don't think so... but it's more likely than a Lucky Egg. Almost like Pikachu: it's more likely he'll hold some kind of berry than a Light Orb (I think it is), but some don't hold anything at all.

So basically having Compoundeyes increase the chances of a held item won't do any good.

I would get a pokemon that knows Frisk (Shuppet/Banette/Stantler) and then it will tell you which Chanseys have the lucky eggs and which ones have the oval stones

I've used this method to get Dragon Scales and Deepseatooths (it really helps with the only held 5% of the time items imo)

try chaining them with pokeradar and they are more common in the morning
