Which water move would be the best to teach my Feraligatr?
Surf, hydro pump, or...?

I'd say either of those two should be fine. Maybe both if your struggling to get a solid 4 moves. Preferrably surf because its more accurate. My vaporeon has both, but i usually use surf because Hydro Pump misses too much :\ What other moves does it have? I recommend to have an Ice Beam, good for when coming up against grass pokemon. And Feraligatr... if I remember correctly.. has a nice high Attack so a move like Earthquake would work nicely. :)

If you are using it on D/P teach it Waterfall (feraligatr) has better physical attack so Waterfall would work better. If you are playing on the GBA games, or any pkmn game older then D/P I would let it learn Surf. More accurate than hydro pump.

Watepulse. No, the damage is not amazing, although you do have a chance at confusing...

However, the battle effect/sound effect looks/sounds awesome.

So a good movepool would be:
*waterfall
*earthquake
*ice beam
*Crunch? (he learns that too doesn't he?)

Agreed. And if you teach it to a pokemon with high stats, it'll be good, but not as good as Surf or Hydro Pump.

I say you teach it Hydro Pump and chuck those PP Ups at it like steroids, buddy. That's how I do it.

I think the best water move for your Feraligatr is Surf.

yep that sounds pretty good. I forgot that waterfall is a physical attack in D/P, still not used to it so yeah waterfall would be better because of Feraligatrs great Attack.

Yeah, Feraligatr learns Crunch.

That would be a great movepool. It's good to have attacks other than water on a water type. Like Ice Beam for those grass types and Earthquake for those electric types. Crunch is also a powerful attack.

Aqua Jet anyone? It's physical (I think), and decently powerful, as well as it always gives you the first move.

Feraligatr cant learn Aqua Jet, can it?
Aqua Tail is another good move by the way. I think its physical.. which is stronger than waterfall.

I dont believe it can, plus its just a water type Quick Attack, like Shadow Sneak is a ghost typed quick attack. So Aqua jet if it can learn it isnt that great. That is a good moveset I would replace Ice Beam, Where its special, for Ice Fang (physical) If it can learn that attack (sorry cant muiltitaskk, i would look for you but its hard to, while using a Wii)

Ps If it can learn Aqua Tail go for it, but remember sometimes its better to keep an accurate attack rather than switch to a not so accurate attack. Also check to see if Feraligatr can learn swords dance....that may be usefull.

I would say, Surf. Since, It has more accuracy then damages more. A really nice Water Move!

Surf wouldnt do as much damage from a Feraligatr, like Waterfall would. Feraligatr has better physical attack than sp attack so surf wouldnt help.

I would try something like:
Waterfall
Swords Dance
Earthquake
Ice Fang

Hold Item either Salac Berry, Leftovers, Razor Claw or Scope Lens.

What about avalanche? That's always a fun move to use.

I think that Waterfall would do as much damage as Hydro Pump anyways, because of power difference, just like how Electivire does about the same with Thunder punch and bolts. I'm only mentioning this because alot of those pesky ground types have high defenses to counter your Waterfall...

As a Feraligatr fan, the attack you need is 2 words:

Hydro Cannon, The aquatic Hyper Beam.

Crunch WILL be a need

and give it a PP Max for it's Hydro Cannon, your feraligatr can learn hydro cannon in a house somewere in the desert over Resort Area.

Hydro Cannon is a waste. It may look cool, but as it's a two turn move, it's not ideal.

Hydro Cannon = 2 turns = Power 150.

Surf = 2 turns = Power of 95 X 2 = 190

40 more Power in the same amount of turns for Surf. Ingame it won't make any difference, the AI's Pokemon most likely won't be able to withstand it, but versing someone else...
