Pinsir Vs. Heracross

the title says it all, which Bug/Fighting pokemon do you like better? (in case you're wondering y i want to know, i need a fighting type in my team that also destroys dark/psychic types)

I've always been a fan of stag beetles more than rhinoceros beetles, so I say Pinsir.
Plus, being able to EQ Gengar in 4th gen is pretty fun.

I picked Pinsir just for the Mold Breaker and those awesome... pincer... thingies on his head. I mean, wouldn't you want those? I guess not, but Pinsir actually learns Bug attacks now.

Well their stats are virtually identical...

Pinsir, on the one hand, can learn the moves Earthquake, X-Scissor, and Seismic Toss: plus it's Mold Breaker ability that can royally screw some pokemon.

Heracross, on the other hand, learns Megahorn, Night Slash, Shadow Claw, and the infamous Endure/Reversal Combo. It is, however, owned by any manner of flying type move...and susceptible to Psychic type moves which are generally more common than the rock types to which it gains neutral resistance.

I say they are perfectly equal, only suited for different sweeping roles. Were they to battle one another, the outcome would be determined solely on which one hits first (they have the same base speed, by the way). Before the 'Heracross endures and activates Salac Berry' argument comes into play, keep in mind that Pinsir can learn Quick Attack.

Thus, I vote for Pinsir to try and even things back out as they should be.

Well, it depends on opponent, if your up asgainst flying, both are doomed, and Heracross is worthless against Physcic. and in D/P, Heracross looks fat. but I still prefer the whole fighting type, in ur going for a rock pokemon. Or steel.

Heracross b/c it has great stats and its fighting type(althought it does get killed by flying types) but its still an awesome pokemon

Thro I like Heracross, both of them have thier uses. My vote is for Pinsir here, despite being weaker than Heracross, Pinsirs Mold Breaker could ruin the day of most Leviating pokemon and a few others as well. Heracross I found rather hard to train the only time I did.

Previously, Pinsir was overlooked, even with it's stats, because it lacked a decent STAB move. It only had HP Bug. Nowadays, it's much better. Also, monotype Bug is never a bad type at all, resisting Grass, Bug, Fighting and Ground, and not suffering the heavy flying weakness of Heracross (he can take a couple of hits, even SE ones). As awesome as Heracross is, Pinsir's developed a new edge, especially with Mold Breaker.

I voted for Pinsir, because whenever I clicked Heracross.. IE the superior Bug pokemon. It clicked Pinsir. I wasn't worried though, I added one in for the underdog. Heracross pwns Pinsir into little bits of exoskeleton. I'm not worried.
