I've been working on a website, Model ZX (http://www.freewebs.com/modelzx/), which is basically a site just for Megaman ZX/ZXA info. I'm not done putting in all of the mission walkthroughs (which someone greatfully let me use their own!) so I don't really want feedback on the material in it (it has like, nothing in there anyways) But I want to know your opinions on the layout. Like, is the main background too pixely or if I need to change the text color 'cause you can't read it. Things like that. Any feedback would be appreciated!

Oh, and I've been meaning to change the blue background for a while now...^_^;

The layout is very tacky. First of, the header, is Waaaaaaaaaay to big. Especially since it's empty. I mean it's just mostly white. The dashed borders are also very tacky, they need to go, or be turned it's solid 1 px borders. The Big bg image of the content is possibly the most tacky thing of all. It's absolutely needs to go and be replaced with a simple 1 color solid background. The small scrolling yellow text also needs to go, coz it's tacky and extremely hard to read.

You think too big. Thinks small, suggestive details. Not huge images that are so In-Your-Face that it makes the content seems pointless. A tip is to look at a lot of nice simple layouts out there that are easy to read and still fairly stylish, and be inspired by them.

You can look at me site, or you can go to the layout I made for POS http://www.cultanime.com/temp/POS/ as you can see there are a few just subtle details that make it flashy, but it's mostly readable and accessibly to everyone. Details like the dots and borders on the sides, the faded image in a corner where it doesn't bother anyone (I have it on Cult Anime to, but there's also one on the top left which I should remove as it might make the content slightly harder to read).

Anyway, I strongly suggest looking around for inspiration and keeping in mind that it has to be very easy to read the conent on the site. Don't have Huge In-Your-Face images, that's extremely distracting. Use fewer colors, 2 - 3 should be enough for the entire layout.

So Good luck, and I hope I was helpful.

Looks better already. Still needs a lot of work, but the only think that needs changing right now is that scrolling yellow text. I got a migraine trying to read it. You see, anything that moves, that isn't rendered in any way, means it's moving by px distance per second. Meaning that it looks like it hacks and jumps from one place to another. It makes it tremendously difficult to read, and it doesn't belong on any website that would call itself "professional" or "sophisticated". In many cases, such as myself, it's even painful to try and read as some people might get headaches. I know it might seem "cool" to you now, but trust me when I say, it just isn't.

Okay. I was meaning to get rid of that before but I must have forgotten. I'm also meaning to change the site banner, but it looks so plain as just text. Is there anything else that needs work?

Nothing I can think of that need immediate attention. Although I must add that think the sprite at the bottom of the links is cute ^^
Nice going.

Thanks, I'm glad you think so. ^_^

I changed the link properties a bit...I hated how visited links had a different color than regular ones, it annoys me alot so I'd always have to click all the other links to get them the same. Now they all have the same color. I changed the hover property to underline-overline, and on all of the pages the visited links are line-through, except the nevigation bar itself, 'cause I think it looks too ugly on there...

I would recommend this to anyone considering making a website: Read through the entire tutorial at http://www.htmldog.com/ from HTML Beginner to HTML Advance, and CSS Beginner to CSS Advance. If you're a fast read you'll finish it in like 2 hours at the most, and you'll find you've learned everything you need to know to make a well made website.
