ive heard that they are really good together. Can someone explain this to me? like what do they do that others dont? thanks!

Please allow me to explain it simply. Skarmory has enormous Defense. Blissey has enormous Special Defense. Between them, they can, theoretically, wall anything.

Not to mention both can learn Self Recovery moves (Softboiled and Roost/Rest). They also cover each sides weaknesses pretty well. Not to mention they double as a Spiker/Aromtherapist.

of course, the whole skarm bliss idea was only good in 3rd gen. in diamond/pearl they become obsolete because infernape destroys both.

With the physical and special move split it dealt harshly with Blissey. No longer can Blissey take the elemental punches it did for Skarmoy in the 3 Gen. (Thunder Punch and Fire Punch).

well not that it has to. skarmory can take physical supereffective effects not named Flare Blitz. also, standard blissey has max DEF, so it's at liberty to take several physical hits that aren't supereffective or STAB'd.

What about Regice? It's special defense is way higher than Blissey's. It's Base 200.

Actually it is quite bad if they were in a double battle. They wont be able to cover for each other.

Yeah, they're better off in a single battle. If one was out, and someone put out a counter to it, you could switch to the other.
