View Full Version : I spy.... 1 to many ubers.

June 28th, 2007, 3:25 PM
Seriously, I have either been murdered by or have destroyed so many ubers its not funny. Are there any Ev trainers out there and if so get on wi-fi... Mewtwo... Giratina... Shadow Force....... too many... dieing of boredom :P So who else has had these faitful encounters?

June 28th, 2007, 4:06 PM
Ever uber I've come across, I've owned.

I have an EV trained team.

June 28th, 2007, 4:12 PM
I have been considering EV training a whole team of legendaries and just ripping apart everyone on PBR Wi-Fi. Unfortunately, I have too much honor and faith in my current team to do that, especially since I have OHKOd every Dialga these stupid kids have thrown at me.

June 28th, 2007, 4:46 PM
its annoying cause i was just on there was a guy who had a team of all legends i killed them all in one shot with a weavile its so boring cause you don't get a challange and you've seen it before.

June 28th, 2007, 4:54 PM
Most people who use legendaries don't actually plan their moves. They just think "OMG legendz r teh awesome!"

June 28th, 2007, 5:05 PM
yah all this guy did was use the strongest move in the set but it didn't do any damage

June 28th, 2007, 5:21 PM
This annoying lil 10 year old had a deoxys, mewtwo and dialga. I transformed into deoxys and killed ALL of his pokemon... Noob.

June 28th, 2007, 5:23 PM
The funniest thing ever is when some Giratina user prepared Shadow Force, then my friend who was playing switched to Snorlax and walled it out, XDD.

June 28th, 2007, 5:30 PM
I kinda agree. Seems there's a lot of uber pokemon online. A friend recently tried it, and in EVERY MATCH out of like 30, he met someone with an uber. While I use ubers every so often in casual matches with friends who don't mind, it's annoying when you're trying to play competively using your EV trained or vitamin pokemon and almost every match is against some guy using ubers.

June 28th, 2007, 6:31 PM
Yeah, though I don't mind, as every Dialga thrown at me gets OHKOd. *Shrug* It's fun to kill the n00bs' legendaries. Every time I see someone clutching anything other than a Poke Ball (meaning it was caught, not bred and rasied) a wide smile crosses my face. Jackpot. :D

*reads AE's sig* ...okay, you're blatantly advertising the fact that you are willingly using poorly trained, non-competition Pokemon? You are declaring yourself as an easy target for any serious trainer like me. Be glad I don't have the time to prey on you. :P

June 28th, 2007, 8:48 PM
People are seriously that dumb about it? I EV train, but I EV train the ones I like. Just so happens 4 of my favorites are ubers (My sig is outdated, dialga= Palkia and Luxray= Pikachu)...

If you care about them so much why would you not want them to be at their best? Wheather it is the best or not?

June 28th, 2007, 10:25 PM
A legendary used correctly can be completely and utterly broken, which is why I take pride in not using them. -.- Maybe crushing n00bs on WiFi that throw them at you every two seconds will realize they should just ditch legendaries and fabricate a true team. -.- Legendaries = gay. Don't dare defy my divine logic. xD

I have only had about 4 EV battles the entire time I was online, I won 2 and lost two. Those are the fun types of fights because theres actual strategy involved. And Ishida, I caught my pokemon but at their lowest level possible and I've maxed them out with the full 510 EVs each. They may not be ultimate egg pokemon but they can OHKO Dalgias & Palkias no with no problems. The one thing I think about is... If so many people are getting their legendary and Uber pokemon killed then why aren't they switching their teams. Also Ishida I would like the battle you with a new team and see how many of your pokemon I could take out. (It's obvious that you would win.) Any way its alot of fun destoryin kids who think, 0mg! Mah l3g3nds ar3 t3h l337 p0k3m0n. And then brutally destroy them. My favorite thing to do is OHKO kyogres with my Electivires thunder punch. Another thing I love about the noobs is when I use Manet Rise on my Metagross and they still try to hit it with ground attacks every turn. :P

June 29th, 2007, 10:32 AM
If you have a rhyferior (I think that's how it's spelled) and train it up to level 100, it has a OHKO move. It is really powerful.

June 29th, 2007, 10:34 AM
If your talking about Rock Wrecker then no. Its an extremely powerful attack but its just the rock version of a hyper beam.

June 29th, 2007, 11:13 AM
My older brother has legandry pokemon [one is in his team] and he cancrush other pokemon on problem with his 'normal' pokemon, I find it silly other people don't train their legandry pokemon just because they're OMFG 1337! They need common sense knocked into their brains and learn they need to train their legandry pokemon. I once KO'd a colluim [sp?] leader with one simple pokemon ^^;

June 29th, 2007, 12:00 PM
legendary or not it still has to be EV trained to do well...

I'm not even using my EV trained party right now online and I think I've only lost like 1 single and 4 doubles. Its even better when I have friends over and I go online... we trash talk so much :D :D

I used ubers for one day then I stopped, now every time I battle someone they have a team of ubers, like today I fought somebody with a Lugia, Dialga, Giratina and Regigigas

June 29th, 2007, 7:27 PM
I don't like regigigas. It was very hard to catch, I caught it on my last timer ball after I used 50 ultra balls, 50 dusk balls, and 50 timer balls, and it was asleep and HP in the red. (if it wasn't asleep for most of that battle, it would have used struggle and killed itself) Also, the slow start makes it almost unusable, because it has bad attacks to start with.

June 29th, 2007, 9:05 PM
i agree with above post they should have just kept the old regis they were awesome except registeel i never really liked him i have all my legends that ubers at minimum level in the box where they belong

June 29th, 2007, 9:42 PM
I thought catching the Regis in R/S was a blast, but they're truly not all that amazing for legendaries. As for Regigigas...please refer to him as "Regifail".

June 29th, 2007, 9:48 PM
I don't know, I watched a PBR clip where some guy's Regigigas swept away someone's entire team. It might've been hacked though...

June 29th, 2007, 9:55 PM

I've heard Regigigas referred to as Regifail multiple times...and from my own experience with using him, I'll have to agree. Then again, was the team complete garbage that it destroyed?

June 29th, 2007, 10:19 PM
Ehhh, it was up-and-down. Some were good, some weren't.

same exact things happened to me i went on wifi and said wifi with someone and his team was all legendairies and i got destroyed its not fair at all there should be a rule in the game that doesnt let you have more then 1 uber in your team

7/10 Wi-Fi fights I did had 2 or more ubers in their team. It makes me sick to think that those people have to use ubers just to win, I should EV train a uber and see how they like it :D

July 1st, 2007, 9:27 AM
this i have, and it upsets me that all my hard work (EV trained pokemon) are being thrashed by legendaries

July 1st, 2007, 9:34 AM
I don't give a bull about Ubers. I got my Yanmega and Porygon-z, and they take out Ubers even if they are EV trained with intense movesets.

July 1st, 2007, 10:01 AM
I was battling someone earlier who was using legendaries. I had out my Tyranitar and Gallade and this guy had his Blaziken and Zapdos. The Zapdos used Thunder on my Tyranitar and the Blaziken used Close Combat on my Gallade. Now, if that was the other way round, my Pokemon would have fainted instead of barely being hit.

Anyway, this guy then pulled out a Giratina and Mewto and disconnected because I just about killed them without my first two Pokemon fainting. Giratina using Shadow Force on a Tyranitar, how stupid is that?

what are ubers and EV i am confused ?

July 1st, 2007, 2:05 PM
Ubers = Top tier legendaries.
EVs = Effort Values. Only for advanced trainers. Don't bother unless you have a lot of patience. If so, read it up on Serebii.net's Game Mechanics section.

I personly don't have wifi connection as of yet, (which I will be getting with days) but I do know the feeling of an opponent with too many, or all legendaries for their team.

I myself use them, but I do not only use them, why, cause there are lots of legendaries that just plain suck. But there are many very, very good legendaries. Anyway, blablabla, I hate it when I fight against somebody who only uses legendaries, it takes all the fun out of Pokemon. Especialy when they mostly only teach there legendaries HM's.
I was once fighting my friend on Colosseum, and he taught his Mew only HM's: Fly, Surf, Strength, Rocksmash >____< God I hate that crap.

But I have been thinking about making an EV trained team of legendaries, or just a few of them. I mean, who can not love seeing a Lugia coming out of a master ball on the tv, and in 3D, its eye poping. (O)____(O)

Ahh well, but nothing is more fun than powning a kid with all legendaries ^__^ LoL

July 2nd, 2007, 10:04 AM
I have. The day I got it I did a practice battle online and faced Dialga and Giratina. -_-

July 2nd, 2007, 10:12 AM
Shadow Force gets dominated by Girafarig who could easily counter with crunch or any other Super Effective move. Best Solution is to find out the main weakness and hope it isn't EV trained in the defense of that move

July 2nd, 2007, 6:00 PM
My problem is that most of my pokemon being from the days that I didn't care about EV training, they stink. and my staraptor, currently my only fully EV trained pokemon, can't do it by himself (I have a short attention span, people, one is all I got) so when they play all ubers, I usually can't compensate for it. As soon as I get this pikachu Fully EV trained, I'm giong to bring it in and try it out as a special sweeper.

July 2nd, 2007, 6:02 PM
So re-breed them with better natures and raise them properly.

July 2nd, 2007, 6:08 PM
I have yet to hash out a team, honestly. My friend Mullet helped me put one together, but I forgot what all was supposed to be in it. Snorlax as a special sponge, Cloyster or Forretress for a spinning spiker, but Mullet's the real pro, I know how to IV breed and EV train, but beyond that I'm still a beginner in terms of expert pokemon raising. Staraptor will be in it simply because I love that bird.

July 2nd, 2007, 6:11 PM
Lucky for you Staraptor is a good Pokemon a lot of people use competitively then, eh?

July 2nd, 2007, 6:31 PM
I honestly wouldn't know, and to me that worries me to here, because in a mirror match my staraptor would lose. it can't take hits too well, with low defense and special defense IVs, so I have to depend on hitting fast and hitting hard. if I get hit with intimidate, Staraptor is suddenly a lot harder to play.

July 2nd, 2007, 7:31 PM

Yeah, I got this guy too. Took out Lugia and Dialga.. then the blue water legendary poke (big blue thing with wings) came in and cleaned me up with Water Spout. I was using a semi-EV trained team, but then went to another battle full of ubers. And I had just taken Palkia out of my team!

I wish there was a way you could decline a match when one is found. Maybe it asks you why and gives you two options as to why:

1) You are/I am too new for opponent's team
2) You are a noob

Anyway, blah.

Further, I'd love to EV train my team, (a new team) but I've used a few one-shot TM's :( Anyone willing to help out?

"Battle Revolution Wi-Fi News

Update @ 21:04 BST: It would seem that, according to many people in some unconfirmed reports that Nintendo has not placed a ban upon the legendaries, but rather a glitch in the WiFi Connection system prevents your Battle Passes with the legendaries in from being accepted. According to a variety of reports, if you reset the Battle Pass, it should work, but we do not know whether this was an intentional thing and this is a way to get round it or whether it was actually a glitch. We'll keep you aprised on any further developments

Original Report
In a move that is likely to infuriate some, and yet please others, according to many reports across the community of which are not yet 100% confirmed, Nintendo has, as of today, seemingly banned Legendary Pokémon from being able to be used in a Battle Pass on the Battle Revolution Random Online Matches. This seems to be due to the massive amount of people going online with nothing but teams of Pokémon known in the community as "Ubers" such as people having a team of, for example; Dialga, Palkia, Mewtwo, Giratina, Lugia & Manaphy. This thus made the balance unfair for the trainers who were using their favourites throughout the game
It is unknown if Nintendo will re-instate the ability to utilise these Pokémon in the near-future, but for the time being, it appears you are free to battle with your normal non-legendary Pokémon on the Random Online feature. You're still able to utilise the legendary Pokémon in Friend Code battles however as well as the single player of the main game."

maybe just fixed the problem

July 3rd, 2007, 9:18 PM
:D This could be a spectacular development for the battling community! Now all the uber-using n00bs will be compelled to learn how to raise a real competition team. They'll need to if they plan on winning any more battles. :P

No ubers are still useable I battled a person with Palkia and Giratina so ubers are still allowed...

I also battled a person today with a Rayquaza and Tyranitar that didn't work too well...

Off Topic: Anyone want to battle me?

My sig has my FC.

Sorry for going off topic at the bottom.

No ubers are still useable I battled a person with Palkia and Giratina so ubers are still allowed...

I battled someone today with those two Pokemon, managed to win though.

I was a bit worried about Palkia using Surf on my Tyranitar and Charizard but it didn't do a great deal of damage to either of them.
