Keep soft reseting until it gives you a shiny.

I've seen it take 2 days.

Someone said it could only take two hours.

It's all based on luck. You can pay someone to do it for you if you really want. ;)

Yes, but it's frustrating to do either way.

My friend tried for like 4 days straight and I think he eventually just gave up. I never heard him talk about it again.

I, myself, was doing so, but trying to get a shiny Rayquaza (same process, save infront of the pokemon and reset until it's shiny). I gave up after about a day of trying. xD

To get a shiny starter you just have to keep trying and trying. My friend did it and on his like 48th time he got a shiny charmander.

Quite true.

Anyway, on topic, I once had a charger for my GBA, but then my sister broke it, and now I have to use batteries, unless my dad fixes it... If I kept trying to get a shiny starter, I would waste tonnes of batteries, and after all, it could be for nothing.

I got one after restarting 6 times~ but i also played through all the games. twas an accident.

yah i think most people that do this play the game way 2 much and dont have lives (no offense).
