Either level up, get some Fire, Ice, Flying, Bug, or Poison-element Pokemon, or both.

June 30th, 2007, 05:51 AM
where is your starter pokemon?
they help, you know.
Claire Bennet
June 30th, 2007, 05:53 AM
I had the water starter and I moreso wanted help with my moves...
Ichida

Obviously if you have Piplup you'll have issues with Grass Pokemon. You should have considered this when you chose Piplup to begin with. *pokes his own last post* You'll want to follow that advice. Budew and Buneary are terrible anyways. Sack 'em.

Hmm I want my Budew to evolve so how can I raise its happiness?
NekroBoi
June 30th, 2007, 05:56 AM
if you could get Ice beam (TM 13) on Buneary....
Or, Just Level up etc.
You can get Ice beam from another game, or try in trading forums, ask for TM 13. Some one might trade it to you...
Budew is a pain. I had mine at lvl 43 when it evolved on my other game... My current one, i dont have it.

then train like you've never trained before
all the advice i can give
Claire Bennet
June 30th, 2007, 06:01 AM
I only like fighting trainers as the XP is way better
lil' Gullwing
June 30th, 2007, 06:03 AM
ok
fight the gym a couple times(probably lose) and if you have plenty bof money to waste
then blow it on that blacking out thing,
thats how i used to train when nothing else could be done
Ichida
June 30th, 2007, 06:04 AM
Orrrrr... you could go to fields in higher-level areas. <.<
Claire Bennet
June 30th, 2007, 06:06 AM
Hmm which pokemon is better and what move set would go with them?
Milotic or Glameow
Ichida
June 30th, 2007, 06:07 AM
Milotic. Waaaaaayyyyyyyy better. Glameow is nothing but a Pearl exclusive. Surf, Ice Beam, Rest, Mirror Coat. Make it hold any Chesto Berries you find, too, so it can recover from sleep after using Rest. Mirror Coat should be used against anything you know is going to use a special-type attack.
NekroBoi
June 30th, 2007, 06:08 AM
Catch a zubat train to lvl 35 and Leech Life?
Milotic is Better. Glameow was prob just to make it look like there are less legends than there alredy are...
Claire Bennet
June 30th, 2007, 06:08 AM
Okay so I would need to get it from my friends Ruby but How come I cant trade from my Emerald to my Diamond???
NekroBoi lol but I hate Zubat so dam annoying in caves
Ichida
June 30th, 2007, 06:09 AM
Zubat is terrible and Leech Life is an even more terrible attack move. >.< You need to see all 150 Sinnoh Dex Pokemon before you can Pal Park GBA Pokemon to D/P.
lil' Gullwing
June 30th, 2007, 06:09 AM
"better" is an opinion
but go to serebii.net
check the pokedex thing
and lokk at their move sets
you should find out which is "better"
Claire Bennet
June 30th, 2007, 06:10 AM
Hmm okay but what pokemon in Diamond or Pearl can I get without completing the Pokedex is good?
Ichida
June 30th, 2007, 06:10 AM
When it comes to a Leech Life-using Zubat, almost ANYTHING is "better." Seriously. :P

I always manage to get off topic easily...
...but this has to be asked, since Milotic was brought up. I'm trying to get my Empoleon to look something like this...
Toxic
Aqua Ring
Protect
Surf
Unfortunately, Empoleon doesn't learn Aqua Ring as it levels up. And there isn't a TM for it...
...is there any other way I can get Aqua Ring on my Empoleon without breeding? God I hate breeding...
lil' Gullwing
June 30th, 2007, 06:14 AM
Hmm okay but what pokemon in Diamond or Pearl can I get without completing the Pokedex is good?
a bird maybe
like starly and evolve it into staravia
Claire Bennet
June 30th, 2007, 06:14 AM
Since when was Aqua Ring even a move?
But there seems no possible way
Ichida
June 30th, 2007, 06:15 AM
Since it's listed as an egg move, obviously not. So either suck it in and learn to get with the breeding like the rest of the serious trainers, or forget about Aqua Ring.
NekroBoi
June 30th, 2007, 06:17 AM
*AAAH! The Bird! I forgot... I was thinkin of Fire and Ponyta...*
Oh well, yeh, Staraptor is pretty good for e4 aswell. You can keep as a long-life pokmeon.

Yeah, rough...I'm actually sorta-kinda trying to get into the Pokemon metagame, or atleast create a somewhat competent team.

How can I check how much my Budew is Happy because I really want my Roserade soon
lil' Gullwing
June 30th, 2007, 06:20 AM
Hmm maybe not I dont like it
the bird?
like it or not
just beat the gym with it and forget starly
Claire Bennet

Lol I edited my post sorry
Ichida

Staraptor can be a good sweeper if you know how to raise it, which doesn't seem to be the case. Regardless, Staraptor's a keeper for someone starting out.
Claire Bennet
June 30th, 2007, 06:25 AM
Yes but doesnt it make me a stronger trainer if I win gym battles with the same type? Like it helps my win in any condition so thats why I want my Buneary and Budew and How do I check how Happy my pokemon are?

true
but if that first attack doesn't make the opponent faint or the attack misses
then with staraptors poor defense it 'll get toasted
but i do have one
Ichida
June 30th, 2007, 06:26 AM
Grass Pokemon are weak to Flying, and Staraptor's got good attack and speed. A keeper, if only for sweeping Gardenia. You check if it's happy enough by levelling it up, obviously. But seriously, sack Budew and Buneary. Roserade and Lopunny aren't particularly worth using.
Claire Bennet
June 30th, 2007, 06:28 AM
Yes but Roserade is very strong and Lopunny...okay Lopunny sucks but Roserade doesnt
lil' Gullwing
June 30th, 2007, 06:28 AM
there is this footprint guy in the a little farther in the game that tells happiness i think. there is also a function on your watch that you get from some one in a pokecenter that tells happiness with hearts
but the team you have isn't the greatest at this point
Ichida
June 30th, 2007, 06:29 AM
BTW, "a better trainer?" By willingly using weak Pokemon? No. Quite the contrary. It makes you weak to use weak Pokemon.
Claire Bennet
June 30th, 2007, 06:30 AM
Yes but this is my future team-
Roserade
Lopunny
Milotic
Maybe Clefable
Blissy

don't you still have piplup/prinplup
the starter helps
Claire Bennet
June 30th, 2007, 06:33 AM
I dislike this gen's starters so I got a Budew
Ichida
June 30th, 2007, 06:33 AM
Sack Clefable. Blissey does the same thing, but way better. And again, sack Lopunny. It's only good for weird item-based tactics.

Okay I just got the Poktech app that shows friendship and my Budew gives a heart how many do I need?

lil' Gullwing
June 30th, 2007, 06:36 AM

Claire Bennet

lil' Gullwing
June 30th, 2007, 06:38 AM

What moves should my Buneary have?
NekroBoi
July 1st, 2007, 10:28 AM
I dunno... Never used It...
Here is what i think it might work:
Substitute
Ice Beam/Thunder Wave
Hidden Power (Psychic or Flying - To counter Fighting types)
Attract
I would go for the T Wave and make it an annoyer...
But, i'm not good with moves... so....
