No manaphy isnt all that great. I guess the 'best' depends on personal preference and the strategy you use with the pokemon. There is no actual 'best'

darkie is the best if you use hypnosis and night mare than night shade it can whipe every thing in it way he rules

Arceus is easily the best legendary, and best Pokémon, in any game. 720 base stat total proves that.

Uh, if you want to get technical, Mewtwo had the best stats of all the pokemon up until dialga who slightly overpowers mewtwo. My favorite how ever, is mew (not two). I also like Manaphy, Jirachi, and Celebi. I like the Cute, Powerful, And Legendary Pokemon.

Hm. Why did everyone forget about Arceus? 720 Base, and being named 'Alpha' Pokemon gives him a boost, don't you think? Plus he learns Judgement, and has the plate thing going for him.

Depends, if you are looking Statistically, Arceus
If you are looking for an awesome Movepool, Mew

To be honest and fair there is NO best pokemon hands down. Each movepool has a counter movepool. Every element has a counter elemenet. Even pokemon with mass stats like the hacked Arceus and its 720 stats could be nailed be many pokemon as long as their moveset is designed to take the Arceus down in it's element form.
It is easy for people to sit there and defend their favourite pokemon or say "yes this pokemon is the best because it has 720 stat lining" all i got to say is as you defend it one person will give you ample reason why it isn't that great.
All pokemon are equal to another. Why i hear you cry? Because each pokemon has a weakness which if exploited could be the downfall of said pokemon.

i think giratina is pretty schweet, and shadow force is far and away one of the coolest moves ever. the first time he did it in battle i was like "what the :expletive: was that? he just freakin vanished!"

Shadow Force gives the enemy to chance to switch to something Normal-element to resist Shadow Force.

i know but the fact that your pokemon vanishes into thin air is still the first of its kind i'm pretty sure
i'm kind of just rating it by "cool" considering that apparently no pokemon can be the best power wise

Rattata of Death is truly the best.
although Arceus' base 720 stat total is pretty awesome.

what is rattata of death?
The Rattata of Death os a true work of Genius. I will reveal to you his secrets, but you must not tell anyone his true awesomeness.
Bah I'll tell you now:
Breed a Rattata so it has the attack Endeavor, and starts with Quick Attack. Next give to him a Focus Band or other item like that.
Go battle someone on Wifi. when someone has a true menace, and is a sweeper or wall, and knocks a poke out, throw out Rattata. Use Endeavor. The foe will try to knock out Rattata (unless they know what your scheme is) and will find he has 1 hp, and endeavor will be used, and will leave foe with 1 hp. Use Quick Attack. Rattata of Death hath prevailed!

Wow. That's so... arr, I can't even come up with a word to describe that. But wait... wouldn't the Rattata just get OHKOd by whoever comes out next?

Well Rattata of Death is designed to kill only one Poke, kinda like a Kamikaze =3

Huh... it's brilliant, sure, but I don't know if I'm willing to give up a spot on my team of fully trained sweepers.

Ugh, I have a feeling I'm annoying you. Ah well.
Well it's really just for fun, to make people be awed by the fact the a Level 1 Rattata knocked out their hax0rz Shiny Charizard.

Does it have to be Level 1? What would be wrong with the same two moves on a Lv100 Raticate? That thing's sad enough even maxed out to probably get OHKOd by almost anything, let alone the fact that you'd only be using this against something particularly menacing.

Well it could, if you plan on using him again, and seeing your whole 'Pokemon Perfectionist' title, I can see you very austere about this.
Rattata of Death is used to Knock the last few Pokes in a battle, if you watch 'Marriland' on YouTube, he uses the Rattata of Death two times, the first to Knock Out someone's last Pokemon, an Empoleon, and try to KO an Umbreon, but the foe uses Toxic and OHKO's him.
I understand that using a slot in your team just to knock out 1 Pokemon, in hopes that it works sounds kind of dumb, but I'm just saying, it's kind of funny to watch 'something particularly menacing' get knocked out by a piddly Pokemon like Rattata/Raticate.

Ahhhh, I see, something to snipe the last enemy Pokemon... hmm... not a bad idea, I'll have to consider it.

Personally, I like the psycic trio; Azelf, Uxie and Mesprit.
Stat-wise, I'd say either Mewtwo or Arceus...

zomfgroflolbbq-i-think-it-is-arceus-if-you-are-looking-at-stats...
But, Mew might take the bait with its nice movepool
