5. Jinzo?

6. Yata?

A. 200 attack? WTF IS THIS?
B. Alright combo'd with stuff.
C. I have it in every deck I own.

7. Harpie's Feather Duster?

A. Get rid of that Mirror force!
B. NOOOOO!!!! BAN!!!!

A. ^_^ I love that guy!
B. Not my type.
C. Crap.

9. Guardian Sphinx?

A. He's a WALL!

If you have mostly A's, you are: a Timmy!

Timmys like big. They love to play big stuff, with big effects. They like big risks, big payoffs, and basically anything generally big. It's most pleasurable to smash the living daylights out of your opponent!

Cards that pertain to a Timmy: Summoned Skull, Blue Eyes.

If you have mostly B's, you are: a Johnny!

Johnnys are the combo lovers. They like combos so much that their decks tend to be wacky or weird to other people. These guys like to win with style, with their wild and crazy combos. Johnnys are happy as long as they pull off the combo, and winning 1 out of 10 matches is good enough if that 1 tiem they pulled out the combo.

Cards that pertain to a Johnny: Messenger of Peace, Guardian Sphinx

If you have mostly C's, you are: a Spike!

Spikes have one purpose: to win. They will win in any means possible, even if it means copying the best deck from the internet to crush his/her opponents. Spikes walk away angry if they win 9 out of 10 times, thinking that they should have won that one they lost. A second name for Spike is "tournament player".

Cards that pertain to a Spike: Raigeki, Harpie's Feather Duster.

If you have a tie between A's and B's, you are: a Johnny/Timmy!

These guys love to smash face AND win with style. They like crazy combos, but don't mind the smash face. (see A's and the B's section for more details on johnnys and Timmys)

Cards that pertain to both: Dark Necrofear

If you have a tie between A's and C's, you are: a Timmy/Spike!

Thes guys like to win big and win in any way possible...while being big. They love to smash the living daylights out of opponents, but can resort to the raigeki if needed be. tourney players that smash face tend to be less common. (see A'sand C's for mroe info on Timmys and Spikes).

Cards that pertain to both: Jinzo

If you have a tie between B's and C's, you are: a Johnny/Spike!

They LOVE wacky tourney-style decks. 100% of all tourney players that have wacky, working decks are Johnny/Spikes. (see B's and C's for more info on Johnnys and Spikes)

Cards that pertain to both: Yata

Well as my first post here, since now I'm back (some may remeber me as Justin), this might as well be a good place to start.

1. What (not waht :P) do you think of the card "Messenger of Peace"?
C. Low to no potential (Gravity Bind is a lot better.)

2. How do you feel about Raigeki?
A. It kills all of my monsters. Bad. (Of course I say this since I don't own one.)

3. Summoned Skull?
B. Not really. (Simply put, there are a lot better cards.)

4. Dark Necrofear?
B. So you take control of what? (And note it's 2200ATK, not 2800.)

5. Jinzo?
C. Good stuff there. I hated traps against me. (At the right time, it's devastating, especially since you have CONTROL of when you use it. And you opponent won't often stand up to 2400 ATK for long without traps (or they Raigeki/etc. it and it's over).)

6. Yata?
B. Alright combo'd with stuff. (It's not the end all and be all of a card in every deck, ok?)

7. Harpie's Feather Duster?
A. Get rid of that Mirror force! (One of the three best cards in the game, IMO.)

8. Blue Eyes?
B. Not my type. (Good with combos, but I don't really like the raw power aspect, I do more for effects.)

9. Guardian Sphinx?
A. He's a WALL! (Very nice card in stall decks, and bounce (return to hand) decks.)

10. How do you like to win?
C. In any way possible (If I win with a trampler, thats good (my deck is a trample deck), if I win through a Snatch Stolen Injection Fairy Lily, thats good too.)

A: 3
B: 4
C: 3

So I'm pretty even, but I'm a bit more a "Johnny".

I sure do love using those weird cards/themes no one else uses. Trample, Koitsu/Aitsu, Gren Maju Da Eiza, etc... All deck's I've tried. :)

Well, it's good to post again somewhere other than my own forums/website...

Timmy/Spike for me, although I don't really like to "smash face" as it said there...I just enjoy playing and the occasional win...I'm really casual and since I can't afford the best cards I use unorthodox things...my favorite strategy is direct damage.

Well technically it's impossible to have a perfect quiz for such things right now. But I do know some real Timmys, and their style is that "smash face, slap you for 10000". I do know a couple of pure spikes here and there and those guys are just...blah. :P

a/b ya i'm like that all the way! I creamed some people at the japanese national's a few years ago and i did it by pissing them off and killing them with really weak monster since i block off attack path's...

I dislike the people known as Spikes in this quiz... Just boring old Control/Beatdown/Chaos decks.

Bleh.

My deck has odd cards in it, not like in GBA games where you just go for all the strong monsters. Also I can't seem to GET any of those monsters out of packs U_U;
So I am probably a Johny

I'm a timmy. Kinda. I think their should be a type who likes to annoy the opponent by removing their cards. (Robbin' goblin, robbin' zombie, card destruction, nobleman of extermination, nobleman of crossout, helpoemer, etc.)

Kenny_C.002
May 27th, 2004, 02:08 AM
That would fall under the category of the "Johnny", Pogiforce. Anyway, most people do hate the Spikes, but they DO run the pro tours (magic/duel master only)...

I'am "Spikes"
A tournament player. ^^;
Dark Necrofear has a 2200 attack doesn't it? Whats that question with the A. answer? Maybe sarcasm?
I made a quiz like this one. I better post it.

Well now, it looks as if I'm mostly a Johnny, along with a tie of Timmy and Spike. :chinese:

I came back a Timmy/Johnny

I really am a Johnny, I experiment with my deck too much trying tocreate a cool combo, but 4 out of the 5 duels I play, I never live to get them in play. I guess it is my tendency to put strong monsters in my deck as backup that makes me a Timmy

BTW: who are Timmy, Johnny, and Spike?

Kenny_C.002
June 8th, 2004, 11:48 PM
Well it's quite a long story. So sit down, and listen quite well. :P jk

Anyway, the origins of Timmy/Johnny/spike came from the Reasearch and Development part of Wizards of the Coast (and Upper Deck desperately NEEDS an R&D). It was one day after Combo Winter (that's the second time when magic went downhill due to the large amount of broken cards around, kinda like the situation YGO is in right now) when one of the workers for R&D, Mark Rosewater (btw, he's a weekly columnist for the website), was in a meeting with others about something.

Mark began with something like "Let's say there a kid. I'll call him Timmy. He likes big things, what should we do?". After the brainstorming sessions, they came up with 3 names: Timmy, Johnny, and "Tournament player". Spike was added on at the end to shorten the "Tournament player" name.

So I guess it's something accidental and just came out right. lol

The 3 types of TCG players, they are the three.

*the above probably doesn't make sense to many, but it's the reasoning behind WHY they're Timmy, Johnny and Spike.

no offense to anyone
timmys are sort of a beginners
those who solely depend on attack will not amount or win much

Kenny_C.002
June 13th, 2004, 03:56 AM
Not really. Timmys are just another style. I sometimes play Timmy style (and fail horribly, but still). It's got the 2 levels of Timmyness:
1. n00b style
2. the Real Timmy

So I'm not sure...but the real Timmys do exist (my friend is Timmy/Johnny), they're just shrouded with the n00bs.

yeah i guess your right
*cough*beatdown*cough*
my friend plays a dragon beatdown
i dunno why the **** he has a yata in there
but it's insane turn 4 he has a spear,sapphire(luster#2),lord of d.,Kaiser Glider and a bluedragon
yes my friends he is THAT good
stupid dragon beatdown
1.timmy = beatdown decks
2.johnny = combo decks such as exodia or final
3.spike = yata deck (easiest way to win)
