ok I just caught a shiny ditto so if I breed it with a non-shiny pokemon, will the egg pokemon be shiny?

No, if you breed with the shiny ditto it has the same chance of finding a shiny in the wild as getting one in an egg.

What Barboach said...that shiny ditto thing only applied in Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal
