Unfortunetly, the event is false, and even if it was true, it wouldn't be on wi-fi. Me and my friend asked nintendo and they said all events (membership pass, oak's letter, and azure flute) is local mystery gift, what will wi-fi be for? Nintendo said they will give out free items, but not the ones I said above.

I did read that thread but it is not true, shaymin said it pretty well, items that are used in events are given a local nintendo events. Wi-Fi Mystery Gift gives out less rare goods.
