i dont know about step by step, but i know that it is on the way up the mountain, in one of the rooms you pass through on your way up to the spear pillar

Go towards spear pillar and the first time you get on the mountain peak you have a choiec of two doors take the one on the right the waterfall is right there

The first map with snow in it, while you're going towards Spear Pillar, there'll be two doors in the cliff side. Both lead into the same room, but the one on the right leads to the part of the room with the waterfall.
