I think the trainer customization feature will turn out well, if he can get all the outfits sprited sufficiently well. It's not a hard feature to code; I've also got it in Amethyst, and it only took me a few hours to script it.

since i took my time reading this i welcome you here and i hope you have a good time. and i think before you ask these questions go and read the first post carefully and you will see for what it is. or read the whole thread like i did. it shouldn't be a problem... and remember to read the first post good. But let me tell you if you can't find it its for PC... you play it with sphere. a rpg making program. and there's gonna be no demo... and its not a hack... and almost every region is in. and again read the first post. OR READ the entire thread to cover all your old questions.

This game is based on the anime more than any other Pokemon game (As what I've learned) qw. (http://www.pokecommunity.com/member.php?u=110425) If you have ever heard of it don't ask, if you've seen it somewhere (not here) ask about it, unless it something only CA would no which most of these are, my advice is check this every day and keep your mouth shut unless something big or important come up. Or if you of all people is hit with a sudden realization.

CA said he had an idea for the secret bases that we would all enjoy.
And yes I'm sure you will be able to get the other starters because you switch regions. Kanto to Johoto to Hoenn t.o Sinnoh.
If you read the first page you would see that the pokemon have different variants for the Orange island. I and others give him ideas on what to do for colors and what to add and take away from the pokemon.

Hey I am new to this thread but I have an idea for Misty's gym.

The Regional variant thing is basically biodiversity. Just like there are different types of dogs. For example, a keckleon from hoen is mostly green and has a yellow stripe on its stomach, a keckleon from the oran islands is mostly purple and has a red stripe on its stomach. This will make the game more exciting.

the pokemon are not different species, they just look different and have slightly higher/lower stats in some areas.

Hello Everyone,

I am finally back from a cross-country move! And I return bearing Rotue 3, finished, and ready to be revealed, along with a new Key Item. Also, I would like to apologize for my long absence, the reason why did not log into the PC was because I did not want to answer questions without having my computer with me for reference. And also, if I did log on, people would most likely be spaming the thread more then they have been recently with posts about the games progress. So I thought it best to stay away, until I had my computer, and all my resources with me. I hope you all understand.

But, I also have bad news. It appears that Virtual Chatot decided to leave the community, as well as the team. I am very sad about his abrupt decision, but it is his choice, and I support him. I only wish him the best of luck for the rest of his life. But we must continue our work, and continue to fufill the dreams of thousands of Pokémon fans.

But fear no more, I am back, ready for work, and also ready to reveal Route 3.

So, before I show it to you, I would like to remind you all of Route 3:

Route 3, is one of Kanto's longest, and perilous routes, being that it is a mountain pass. With it's many trainers that littered the route, many found it quite difficult to pass. I have stayed true to it's dangerous characteristics, but I have also added new ones as well. Including a new exploration fearure that will come in handy in the most dangerous times. And not only that, but new areas for further exploration, and greater game play experience. Also, like my other maps, if you look closely, you can see the resemblence to the game. If you were to compare both maps side by side, the similarities would be revealed.

So, without further adue, I present

The Camping Gear is a new key item that can be deployed at specific locations called camping grounds on routes that have them. When used, your Pokémon's health and status problems will be recovered fully. This item is essential to any Pokémon trainer, and can be acquired at Pewter City.


Again, I am very sorry for my absence. And I hope you all understand why I chose to do what I did. Again, thank you for reading, and hopefully understanding. But this should hopefully be the end of my absences, and progress on Pokémon the Lost World shall continue ever faster.

edit number 2 : i traced the route and found that the one on the top is a dead end. it leads to the beginning of the bottom route. the only way to get to it is through a cave, which probably connects to teh one below it. how do you get out of this route?

oh yeah, cap, just want to ask one thing
i love the big maps, but i just want to warn you. if you make the maps too big, and you keep on increasing the size, then there is a chance that you make some bigger and some smaller, so when you assemble them all into one map, they don't match up perfectly. if that does happen, it is a pain to re-edit them so that they all fit.

You seemed to have spotted one of the many secrets that lie in Route 3! Let me just say that the next update will be quite massive. There will be many thigns that will be revealed abuot the game, also, expect to see more variant Pokémon sprites released and many more things.

Yes, that is a Honey Tree. They serve the same purpose as in D/P/P, but just think about all the different Pokémon variants you can find depending on which tree you decided to use!!!

Yes, taht area with the sign, and little pond is the campign site. Also, though it may not look that perillous, but don't let looks decive you. This route is absolutely littered with trainers, and you won't find it easy to avoid their site, if you can. But this route is extremely long, and just for a little note. The Camping Gear is not a required key item, meaning that if you do not find the person who will give it to you, you'll have plenty of trouble getting through this map. Trust me, once you get through this, you'll never want to coem back again. Which is the catch because the're are many secrets about this map.

Ah okay, well I can certainly trust you to do it right, hehe.
I did notice the 3 (Ithink) cave entrances and the forest entrance, but I dont see how you'd be able to reach the forest. I figured it was a kind of exit out of some other place that lead here to give you a nice summit-picturesque view. I was also thinking about it and since its mt.moon is the white stone a moon stone or a meteor or something?
About the rse tree..I have no idea. What can someone do with a tree...climb it? chop it down? no clue.

Well first off, I decided long ago that I would change the world map, so it will no longer be the one shown on the front page. ( I have to completely overhall the front page)

Second, the link seems to be broken. But I think 98% of the Pokecommuntiy knows that all the Pokémon regions are based off real life places. And also, di you know that Kigome from Inuyasha lives in Kanto!! When I used to watch the show, it panned out while she was screaming one time, and you could see all of Kanto! I thought it was pretty cool. Though I don't remember exactly what city she lived in. But I'm getting way off topic, so enough about that.

no Pokémon will be able to follow you, that will cause to many problems.

Every Pokémon will be obtainable, and there will be places were you can catch starters. For example, Squirtles can be caught at Squirtle Island. And yes, even Evees will be found in the wild. Again, every Pokémon will be obtainable in this game.

I have a question about the Regi's and the Legendary Birds. In hoen, there are three regi's, then in Fiore, there are three more regi's. According to the movies, there are three more regi's in kanto (lucario and the legend of mew). And If rumors are correrct, then there will be three moreregis in shinou (platinum). And the Battle pyramid dude also has the three regis. According to all of this, there should be 15 regis total, and 12 of them can be caught. The same goes for the Lagenday birds. They can be caught in Kanto, possibly shinou (platinum), and the Oran islands (poke. the movie 2000). Will you be able to catch more of each of the non- uber legendaries?

To answer your question from a few posts up. Fiore has explorative properties to it, Pokémon habbitats, and many more things. I do have story elements that take palce there, but I will not reveal anything at this time.


1. Tracey will appear in the game, and obviously, he'll show up in the Orange Islands.
2. Places like Squirtle Island, don't just depend on how far you get in the game to get to it, it also depends on what you do in the game. Its not a manditory place to visit. In fact, it's location is unknown.
3. There wont be jobs, but instead, there will be side-quests to do in the game. So, lets say you went to a cities bulliton board, there will be side-quests to be completed there, and you will also be able to take on side quests by talking to specific people.
4. You will not be able to hold more, but there are banks in the game, which can hold almost infinite amounts of money for you. In Viridian City, the building with the black limo in front of it and bulliton board next to it is the Viridian City Bank.
5. No, Pallet Town will not grow. Everyone will be given a hotel room at one point in the game.
6. Every online game experiences lag, and it also depends on your internet connection. But it will one of our main goals to provide almost lag free online activity. But that in no way means there will never be lag. Oh, and just if anyone wants to know, these maps do not lag at all, what so ever, so if you are worrying about the maps being to big, don't, because they run perfectly fine.
7. No, you will never be able to hold more than 6 Pokémon, don't call me rude, but I don't understand why anyone would ask that question.
8. Depending on how long and dangerous a route is, there may be one or two.
9. There are many ways to get to the Orange Islands; boat, airplane, surphing, and flying, ect... The zeplin that you are refering to you only affects Ash's journey, and in this game, you do not play ash, so to fully answer your question, no, you cannot take a zeplin to the Orange Islands.
10. There will be many manga elements introduced into the game, but nothing along those lines.
11. Item trading will be incorperated into the game.
12. I haven't compeltely made the system for stealing trainers Pokémon (only NPC's), but it will be featured in teh game, but there are also consequences for doing so.
13. Yes, Kurt will still make Poké Balls.
14. No, Pokémon cannot be sold, but you can make money on the ones you steal from trainers in eveil organizations.
15. What do you mean, remix the sound.
16. Team is a very general term, but I'm sure your refering to evil organizations like Team Rocket. I'm keepign that secret, its very closely related to the main story.
17. If your talkign about that wierd circus thing, then no, but the whole mountainous are where Jirachi was being guarded by Absol will appear.
18. No, why would I make Pokémon have lowered evolved forms? This game is supposed to be a challenge, not a free bee, easy to beat in one day game.
19. What are you asking? Equip my starter with a tough move? Be specific.
20. No, level 100 is the max, but just wait until the next update, 100 will be high enough when you understand what will be implemented into the game.

I've been lurking here for a bit, and I'm glad to see that you're back, Captain Arcane. This is by far the most ambitious fan game I've ever seen, the scope of it is absolutely insane, and I eagerly await its completion, as long as that will take!

I feel a little ridiculous making suggestions, seeing as you've already got so many great ideas in place, and this is my first post here and all, but I've had an idea for the Pokemon games that I think could be very useful, particularly in your game, with how amazingly huge the maps are. I'd love to see a sort of roost system(having nothing to do with the actual move roost) implemented, where, instead of only being able to fly to the Pokemon centers in the cities and towns, you could set up a specific point, or a "roost" for your Pokemon to fly to, perhaps into the middle of a forest or route. I mean, it can be annoying enough to constantly have to retrace your steps to get to a specific point in the normal Pokemon games, even when you've flown to the nearest town/city, so I can only imagine how much of a hassle it'd be in this game.

But hey, who knows, you might already have something like this implemented! Maybe that's what those weird trees in the route 3 map are for, hmmm... Anyways, I'd just like to have more options for where I can fly to, to get closer to a specific point with less time spent on running monotonously through a route I've already gone through.

The game truly does look great, and every bit of news that's released just leaves me more impressed - keep it up, and good luck!

The camping sites might work, although depending on how far and few between they are(and they don't seem like they'll exactly be all over the place), they might not be as much of a help. With being able to set up 'roots,' or whatever you want to call them, yourself, you'd be able to get as close to a specific point as possible, it'd be much more convenient. Then again, I don't know if that method would even be possible to incorporate. Special trees/locations scattered throughout the routes, perhaps a bit more frequently than camping sites, seems like a good idea. Although then I don't know how you'd pick which specific tree you wanted to go to, hmmm. Well, I'm sure there's a way to work it out. Really, I'll just be happy to see this idea implemented in any way at all :)

Also, the elite four will be a tournament style, it will even feature the changing field types which will give stat bonuses to its corresponding Pokémon type. But, the 4 original elites will still be in the Elite 4, in numerical, and occuring order, and Lance will still be the Champion who you will have to face at the end. If you are playing offline, you will obviously be facing NPC's, but if you play online, you can face actual real people, and prove your Pokémon battling skill to the world. So, this synchronizes both aspects of the anime and the game. So Mooshykris, this style should appeal to your liking becuase you will still be facing the 4 elites, adn Lance, but while deeming yourself a worthy apponent along the way. Unlike the games, where it was usually a easy battle to win, this will actually test your skill with battling to the MAX. And by max, I mean it, if your not good at battling, you'd better improve, or you can forget about winning the championship. Also, people who do win on the online mode, will be comemorated for their achievement, so if any of you happen to win it, expect to get a lot of attention.

Also, for those of you who's questions haven't been asnwered, I'd advise you to just be patient until the update, because the reason why it seems as if I'm not answering some of your questions is becuase I want to keep it a surprise. *laughs maniacly*

What I meant was kind of like how in the battle frontere, how the regi's, the legendary birds, and the legendary dogs were allwed to be entered. But then pokemon like mewtwo, Lugia, Groudon, Celebi, ect.. were not allowed to be entered in anything because they are too strong, and usually are not allowed to enter when linked to friends. Then what I meant about one of every legendary applied mostly to the Regi's: They can be caught in hoen, in Fiore, possibly in shinou (platinum), somewhere in kanto (lucario and the legend of Mew), and how the battle piramid dude has the three regi's also. If this holds true, there is 5 of each regi, and the player will be able to catch four of each one. The same thing is about the legendary birds: They can be caught in kanto, moltres can be caugh on island 1, they are also in the oran islands (pokemon the movie 2000), and if rumors are correct, then the legenday birds will be roaming Shinou in platinum. I hope this clarifies what I said

1 - in order to prevent extreme ... stupidness ... in the tournament battles, would there be level caps? because its kind of stupid to go to the elite four once you have level 50-60 pokemon [which is actually a bit higher than when i get there myself] and someone else joining with level 80-90 pokemon and sweeping the tournament.
2 - this is kinda selfish of me, but can you rework the abilities system so that the abilities work with the actual pokemon, and not just ones that are swept through several kinds? example
roseilia, if in the sun [and even more if something like sunny days is used], gains back HP or powder attacks become more effective, because its basically one gigantic flower. or something like tackle/rollout become more effective if used by a donphan, because of the way that it attacks [basically rolling up into a ball]. i think it would be better if abilities reflected the actual physical characteristics of the pokemon themselves

I agree, I think nintendo will loose a good chunk of money when this project is complete. I also think that nintendo will do one of 2 things if they hear about this project:

He can basically do whatever he wants because there are no specified routes.
It would also be cool if he could have a different ribbons for each main city with a gym, each with it's own contest hall. It could be like badges, until you have the Viridian City ribbon you cant get the next one.
It would also be cool if he implamented mini games (aka Ponyta racing, Berry catching, fishing contest, bug catching contests, ect.)

Battling trainers your pokemon are hurt, and then wild battles, it would make you mad after a while, I always hated it if you needed to pass true maps with too much grass, it's like 2 steps wild battle another 2 steps another battle, So yea I think Ac did a good job on this map...
And besides if you want to battle a wild pokemon just walk to the grass to battle one.

Here we go, finally some sensible questions that actually make me happy to answer them.

Alright, many are wondering why I said Route 3 is so perilous. Well, its not just that Route 3 will be the only one, all the routes will be. But because of the amount of trainers that Route 3 actually has on the main path, that alone will pose major problems to completign it. Also, it will become very obvious why I said that when I update next time. All I will say is this.

"Be sure not to wait to long after defeating a trainer, or else, there could be misconception!!!"


The Orange Islands will be very much like the anime. but I will also add my own touch to them as well. Oh, and yes Mooshykris, all GYM battles in the game will be conventional style.
Mewtwo was created on an island thats located between the Sevii Islands, and the Orange Islands. It is known as New Island. And like I just stated, Mewtwo was in fact created there by Team Rocket, from a fossilized sample of Mew's DNA. But, Pokémon Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow version could not particularly focus on that part of the story, because the Orange Island did that appear in that game, nor did they appear in any other game. And so because of that, Nintendo created an alternative story plot where Mewtwo was created at Cinnabar Island, instead of New Island. And in order to relate as closely to the original story as possible, they made it so that Mewtwo destroyed the Pokémon Mansion in a blaze, but it was released to the public that inferno was caused by unkown sources. But, if you were to fully investigate the mansion, while playing the games, you would've found peices of a journal that explained the creation of Mewtwo through DNA regeneration from Mew.

Now, to fully answer the question, New Island will appear in the game, it is one of the main climax points for the Kanto journey. The Pokémon Mansion will still be in the game, and will also still be destroyed by Mewtwo, and in order to catch Mewtwo, you must find your way again, through the maze of Cerulean Cave! But I will keep the in depth knowledge of this event in secret, I don't want to spoil the surprise.

But when someone uses their idea and uses an RPG maker to creat it, then they don't earn any profit. And with a project this big and this many fans already, people would start to download this game instead of buying nintendo's games. And then there's a very good chance that Nintendo would use the excuse that most companies do when they start to loose profit: "It's our idea, and they stole it without our consent." You are aware you can own concepts, ideas, and plans, right?

Almost everything in this game is a carbon copy of the systems and designs in Pokemon games, not to mention parts of the story, all of which Nintendo owns.

They can sue him, they can order a cease and desist, and they will win.
