Ok I have Emerald and I'm wondering if it's worth it for my friend to get Ruby/Sapphire at all. Because I think that Emerald is pretty much the 2 games in 1 almost. Should he buy Ruby/Sapphire or just get Emerald like me? I'm just wondering since maybe in R/S there may be different Pokemon to get that you can't get in Emerald.

There are only a few new Pokemon you can get in those games. It'd be more worth your while to pick up Firered or Leafgreen. A lot of the Kanto Pokemon aren't in Emerald, Ruby, or Sapphire.

Whoa, totally misread the question. Well, Emerald is better than Ruby/Sapphire replaywise, so yes, it would be better if he had that.

Not unless you want to trade with him, because there are Pokemon missing from Emerald that can only be found in Ruby/Sapphire.

Ah ok thanks. K thats what we wanted, to get the Pokemon that can't be found in Emerald. It's so freakin hard to even find any copies of R or S around here though, still haven't found one.

The only thing i know thats not available to emerald is zangoose, and surskit, if your friend cares about that, then buy R/S.

Meditite, Roselia and Lunatone also can't be found in Emerald, but I think that's just about it for the list of Hoenn Pokémon not available in Emerald.

Also that UGLY text is gone but I mostly like the G/S/C Pokemon in the Safari Zone.
