Umm.. I restarted not too long ago and am slowly playing my way through the game again. Thus, new team and still kinda thinking what to do with which ones. And having some trouble filling in the last two slots. This will be my first competitive team that I've made and will actually use, hopefully later on when I can find someone to battle. =D

Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def)

- Close Combat

Excellent Skarm-Bliss killer. Overheat because it lowers Sp. ATK and won't do much harm to the other moves, but if you're using overheat, you'd better switch to Life Orb.
Floatzel @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SpAtk)
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
- Waterfall
- Ice Fang
- Brick Break
- Return
I hate Sub-Punching since Brick Break can to the same damage without taking up 2 moveslots. And its always nice to have a normal type move.
Luxray @ Choice Band
Ability: Rivalry
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SpAtk)
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
- Spark
- Ice Fang
- Thunder Wave
- Crunch / Fire Fang
Lucario @ Life Orb
Ability: Steadfast
Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def)
EVs: 252 SpAtk / 252 Spd / 4HP
- Aura Sphere / Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball/Stone Edge
- Blaze Kick / Dark Pulse / Calm Mind
- Dragon Pulse
I like mixed sweeping Lucarios, that way I can kill some more SkarmBliss.

I don't know much about the last 3 pokemon though. It seems as if you need a wall, Probopass can wall pretty damn good. I suggest him. Even powered up with Sandstorm.
I suggest Probopass and Tangrowth as your last walls.

3 Choice users is just bad. And since when did Floatzel get Intimidate? Overall, the pokemon on your team are pretty bad, and their movesets aren't all that great either.
And penguin: Brick break does the same amount as Brick Break? Really? If Brick Break did 150 damage, I'm pretty sure it would be used by everyone. And you act like Substitute's only use is to use focus punch. You CAN use focus punch without substitute.

Skarm should probably do fine as one. I'm just mixing things up and testing out a few things ATM. And since I don't have Wi-fi, getting extra Pokemon is kinda hard ATM. Probopass I'll think about, it takes too long to get both of those, with swarming which I really can't be bothered doing or waiting for with the lack of playing time I currently have.

My bad, I typed that up when I was really tired yesterday. It should be Swift Swim, but meh....
Well, it would be appreciated if you gave suggestions instead of just saying it's bad full stop.

Something is up with it. *pokes Luxray* Should really have been T-wave/Fire Fang and Choice Band/Scarf/Life Orb.

Your sets look great. I wouldn't put Magnezone in because then you would have 3 pokes weak to ground. Skarm looks good for one of the last spots. Consider replacing Luxray for Jolteon or Electivire since both are superior. You may also want to consider Blissey or Snorlax as sponges since the team has vulnerabilities on the special end of the spectrum.
I'm not so good with EV spreads. Sorry. D:

It's pretty much impossible for me to get Electivire, Wi-fi is not an option for me right now. Jolteon is, but getting an Eevee would come later on towards the end of the game.
How about: Infernape, Floatzel, Jolteon, Lucario, Skarmory and Blissey (since getting Munchlax is too laborious)
Don't worry, thanks for the suggestions with regards to the team.

Skarm Bliss combo works well, however I would suggest that you take out 2 other pokemon and put in 2 that are not weak against ground. You probably need a better Special Sweeper
Physical Wall - Skarmory
Special Wall - Blissey
Physical Sweeper - Floatzel/Swampert
Special Sweeper - Magmortar/Infernape
Tank - Roserade or BPer- Jolteon
Annoyer - Togekiss
Pretty balanced team... I always start out with a list like this so I know my team is in good hands.

Well I can't get access to Magmortar nor Swampert so those two will have to remain as what they are. Togekiss is one option I suppose, never used it in the past. What kind of moveset would be recommended?
Kayashi
August 5th, 2007, 02:41 AM
Togekiss has pretty much one moveset, VERY annoying one...
Togekiss@Kings Rock/Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
Nature: Modest/Timid
EVS: 252 SP. ATK/ 252 SPEED/ 4 HP
Aura Sphere
Air Slash
Roost
Thunder Wave
As I said, very annoying. Thunder Wave to let the opponent hit less often, the Air Slash powered up by its Serene Grace will make the opponent flinch like crazy, almost never attacking.

August 5th, 2007, 02:46 AM
Luxray @ Life Orb
- Spark
- Ice Fang
- Fire Fang
- Quick Attack
A good offensive set with Life Orb to some good damage. Quick Attack is good for a finishing attack also good against Focus Sash pokemon.
Bronzong @ Leftovers/Light Clay
- Hypnosis
- Gyro Ball
- Light Screen
- Reflect/Explosion
-Gyro Ball
-Trick Room
-Explosion
-Stealth Rock/Light Screen/Reflect
A decent set for Bronzong.

That sounds pretty good. I'll test one out when I get Togepi to appear in the Trophy Garden and then breed for a good nature.

Luxray: Jolly 252 ATK/ 252 SPEED / 4 HP
Bronzong: Impish 252 DEF/252 SP. DEF/ 4 HP
probably, I'm no expert on these two.

Yeah.. I got that down for Luxray.
Bronzong I originally had down 252 HP / 126 Def / 130 SpDef. HP is handy to have....

Probrably either:
252 HP/80 DEF/172 SP. DEF
or
252 DEF/252 SP. DEF/ 4 HP
I already realized that defenses are more important than HP, as long as the HP isn't too low. *coughcoughshucklecoughcough*

Hmmm... Bronzong is basically a slower version of Skarmory with better Special Defense, but not as cool as Skarm. Skarmory has the perfect setup: Spikes, Whirlwind, repeat. Always use Whirlwind over Roar, because you'll be SOL and JWF if you come across a Soundproof Pokemon. Also, while Stealth Rock hits all Pokemon (as opposed to Spikes), if you get three spikes laid out, it does nearly 1/4 damage to every non-flying/non-levitating Poke that comes in.
Only use Magnezone if you really fear Skarmory, since the only thing it does is kill Skarmory. Also, go with a Timid nature... don't yell at me, people! Hear me out.
If you go with a Timid nature, and max EVs in Speed along with Special Attack, not only will Magnezone be able to kill Skarmory, but he will also turn into a decent Metagross killer. Very few standard Metagrosses have maxed EVs in Speed (standard is around 106), so with a Timid nature and maxed EVs, it's a near guarantee that Magnezone will outrun a non-Agilitied Metagross and be able to shoot of a Magnet Rise before Metagross Earthquakes him to death. All you gotta do then is watch as Metagross struggles to KO you, which won't happen (barring the possible use of Hammer Arm), but even then Magnezone's Thunderbolt will be a 2KO on Metagross.
Just my 2cents!

Huge HP looks funny in battle though. Well at least for me, when playing for fun anyway.
First look better for a Special Wall, but I suppose it depends what it's gonna cover.

Whirlwind is unfortunately, harder to come by as breeding is required and I never really took too well to breeding. But I suppose a bit of breeding with a few things will have to be done first to get both Whirlwind + Drill Peck on one Pokemon for Skarm.
True... and I suppose that means Stealth Rock doesn't stack up then?

Exactly, Rhyperior/Dugtrio Wreck Havoc on this team. and they then eat it for Breakfest.
Hahah, your saying Rhyperior can survive an Aura Sphere from a Lucario? Your saying Dugtrio can defeat Floatzel with a single EQ?
Ground types love battling everything on this team but the Floatzel (which usually outruns, using a STABed Aqua Tail, or Waterfall...)
It's Just Fufu
August 7th, 2007, 03:46 PM
Your Lucario has Choice Specs. Why are you putting down Calm Mind as an option? Anyways, go with Aura Sphere/Shadow Ball/Psychic/Dragon Pulse@Modest or Timid nature. That way, you can actually kill Heracross without relying on hitting it with Skarmory's Drill Peck.
Skarm should hold Lefties, and you're team is Chain Chomp weak.
Infernape doesn't need EQ. Use Stone Edge.

I changed the item and forgot to edit the moveset.
I can only get one copy of it easily, which is why I really only wanted one to use. I'd prefer if it did have Leftovers but Bliss needs that too and O.o
I personally like EQ better. Stone Edge is meh... alright I suppose since it hits flying types.

Penquinpal6: No offense but WHY DO YOU SAY SUCH VERY STUPID THINGS SOMETIMES???????????
He has a jolly nature... KNow what that means? It means that he has unfavorable special attacking power. WHY WOULD YOU GIVE A JOLLY POKEMON SPECIAL ATTACKS?
Infernape @ Choice Band/Life Orb
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SpAtk)
- Overheat/Flare Blitz/Blaze Kick
- Thunderpunch
- Close Combat
- Earthquake / Stone Egde
In this set we have a problem. Overheat shouldnt even be an option Because your running a possiblity of choice band. Flare blits would fit better. Also If your going to run choice band on infernape, I suggest you run u-turn also. To get out of sticky situations that infernape probably shouldnt be in in the first place and you can also do a bit of damage to your opponent.
IF You wanna run mixed sweeping infernape, Rash or naive natures are probably your best bet. (I suggest naive)
Infernape @ life orb
Naive nature
Flame thrower/over heat
Grass knot
Close combat
Nasty plot/Thunder punch
With this set you have TONS of coverage. Here you go. I hope that helps you a bit.
Before i finish, Lucario doesnt exactly have all of the stats to pull off mixed sweeping as effectivelly as infernape does. As far as your team goes, I HIGHLY suggest just using him as a special attacker
Lucario @ Life orb
Modest/Timid
Aura sphere
Dragon pulse/Hidden power Ice
Dark pulse
Psychic
Lucario honestly doesnt have the ability to kill heracross head to head, Because heracross tends to ALWAYS carry choice scarf. So i highly suggest you dont try to take out heracross rather i would probably save lucario for late game sweeping when you have made sure that you have made your opponents team weak enough that he can sweep.
