EV, Noob evolution question

Does evolution have a major effect on EV's.

Would It be better for me to say, totally Sp. Def EV train my Eevee and then evolve it at like level 40 or something so it can learn Batton Pass (just an example.) Or would Evolving it into Umbreon ASAP and then Sp. Def EV training make a difference?

I'm guessing at first they're might be a difference but at level 100 everything works out despite when you evolved it. Am I right?

Well a pokemon can only grow around I think 64 stats in one level so I suggest evolving it around the level it learns baton pass. I am ev training a bp vaporeon and I wanted to know the same thing but i read and found out.

ya I know all the statistics, I just wanted to know, If it makes a difference, if a pokemon is evolved or not.

No, EVs are EVs whenever you put them in. EV train your Eevee whenever you want to.
