How can I start breeding Pokemon?

I would love to start breeding my Pokemon, but unfortunately do not know how to :(

I know that the two pokemon have to be in the daycare center, but that is ALL I know, any tips?

I actually have insomnia right now, and with that, I typed up this guide I was going to post here. But after I finished, I noticed there already was one. >.> Although the Beginners Breeding Guide (http://pkmncommunity.com/showthread.php?t=15870) seems to be a bit outdated with D/P out, you should still refer to that first, and just ask any questions afterwards.
