I was searching on eBay earlier, and am seeing A L O T of DS and DS Lites broken for sale. Is Nintendo NOT fixxing them or whats up with that?

They don't know or want to send them to Nintendo.
Or they don't have warranty and don't want to pay the fee.

There might be a reason for that, considering it costs more than half the price of a new DS lite just to fix the bottom screen.

Funny that, the actual bottom screen part shouldn't be too expensive at all. The idea of replacing the part on the other hand requires solder and knowledge of electric parts. Then reassembling the case. Provided you have the stuff, it's not really as hard - they charge you for the postage, labor and parts involved.

After all, they aren't making any losses selling the DS - the device in question could be slightly cheaper in parts value.

So, what better way to fix your own device by nabbing an already broken one - assuming the part you want from it is intact. Or, you could use its parts for another purpose (and you have a knowledge of I/O).
