May is was the first co-star in the show to follow around with Ash. She became an amazing Pokemon Coordinator entering contests around the world. She is very sweet with a cute personality.

Why do you like May?

So many reasons. She is my all time favorite character, and I have no clue how I got so obsessed with her. I guess it's because we finally had a girl do something other than Ash in the show. And I really enjoyed contests. And I loved how May was a clumsy girl who didn't like Pokemon to begin with, but later became a great coordinator. Plus, her personality is so funny and cute. <3

Why do you like May?
May just owns, and I think every girl can relate to her in some way. She was the first female protagonist from the games to travel with Ash, and she introduced Contests to the show, which I became obsessed with very quickly due to them being so awesome and totally new and everything. XD; She went from a total dependent ditz (though it was funny when she didn't know anything XD because you know, I didn't know a whole lot, either, so it felt good to know that I wasn't the only one, lmao) to an independent, strong coordinator. May showed that it wasn't just guys who could have a dream and travel around, but girls could, too, and that's probably what I like the most about her. :D

I hope she at least gets some sort of referance soon. Cuz seriously. >> But anyway, yeah, I can see her showing up, just not right now. Maybe she'll show up to advertise the new eeveelutions, or like most of you guys said, have a contest battle with Dawn.

As for the whole May VS. Dawn thing, May would definitely win. 8D She's more experienced and has been a coordinator a LOT longer than Dawn has. I don't see how Dawn would be able to beat her, or even be at her level after just one season.

Mine is obvious. Contestshipping. It's just canon as hell. And May and Drew look so cute together. And I just love the roses, and how Drew tries to act like he doesn't like her. xD And May just gets so pissed at him. But they really WANT each other badly. >D

Contestshipping, definitely. May loves the guy, so yeah, of course I'll like it. XD; Drew always watches out for her, and it's so sweet. And you gotta love their bickering and the roses. :x Plus, it's 90384908343% canon on both sides, so it can't get much better than that.

But I'll pretty much support any May shipping. She looks cute with just about anyone, you know? I think Advanceshipping would've been really awesome if it had been developed more, and if Brendan was in the anime, Hoennshipping would've been cool, too. And if Steven had not been totally ruined D:, HoennChampionshipping would've been love.

Anyways, I got into the shipping whenever May and Solana are standing next to each other in the episodes Solana appears... 8D Contestshipping's fine with me... I find it interesting actually, but I'm just not a huge fan (as in obsessive XD).

So many fanarts have got me wanting her to catch Chikorita. =< So yeah, Chikorita, and I really want her Eevee to evolve into Espeon. As for other pokemon... I really like the idea of her having Cleffa or even Jumpluff, maybe even Sentret or Larvitar. The main cast (especially Ash and Misty) have a lot of the Johto Pokemon already, so it's hard to think of ones she might capture. ^^; (I wouldn't mind her having Pichu either, but that probably won't happen xD)

I have like...three of them.

Spontaneous Combusken! - Okay, so I mostly love this episode for Contestshipping, but...XD Not only did I like it for the Contestshipping there was no way May was going to let a girl like Brianna steal her man, but I really enjoyed her battle against Brianna. So yeah. CS + May winning the Contest = <3

Channeling the Battle Zone! - May finally beat Drew. That's really all I have to say. XD Though, I think it could've been handled better... heck, both the Hoenn and Kanto GF should have been longer imo, but ah well.

Once More With Reeling!/Home Is Where The Start Is - Her last Contest, and it was against Ash. I loved this Contest because it showed how much May has grown as a coordinator and not only that, but she tied with her mentor, which is a great accomplishment. Plus, Combusken evolved, so yeah. 8D Even if she left after, it made everyone realize how much she's changed, and that she was ready to go to Johto on her own.

I loved the Hoenn GF, mostly for all the May/Drew/Harley tension. <3 I enjoyed that GF much more than the Kanto one too.

The Wakana episode (Brianna...xD). Obvious reasons. Contestshipping ftw! The whole Brianna accusing May of liking Drew was great. And I was glad how May beat the crap out of Brianna in the contest. (:

The Lilycove contest. It had Kelly in it. And Kelly was awesome. <3 And I thought it was a great battle as well.

I think she should should enter a cute contest with her Skitty, cause Skitty is like the cutest Pokemon ever IMO. Plus, her's seems to be full of hype all the time. And I remember in the Hoenn GF, Vivian said something like "Skitty is a crowd's favorite for it's overwhelming cuteness." 8D So yeah, she'd probably win that one for sure.

Though she could also enter her Beautifly in the beauty. Her Blaziken in the cool. Doesn't really matter. She does want to be the top coordinator. She needs to enter all of them!

Shopping and food. If you've seen her at the beginning of AG, you'd know why. She was always shopping, mostly for bathing suits. And she eats everything. xD

Winning contests of course. She wants to become the top coordinator. And of course she'd want to win the contests. x3

For me, I mostly relate to her sweetness. Both of us can be very nice and friendly, and we're addicted to sweet desserts like ice cream and cake, and-! Kays, I'll stop with the sweets. xD Anyways, I can also relate to May with her determination as well, especially her theme Watashi, Makenai! and lastly, I get roses too from a guy whenever he can. *claps like a morn* xD I'll stop now. =x

Hm. Well I guess because we're both very sweet girls. I mean, I have more of a temper like Misty's, but still.

I guess I'm not much like May actually. She never gives up. ..I always give up. She's nice, sweet and caring. I'm cranky, mean and snobby. xD

I guess the only thing we would be similar with is the sibling thing. She gets very annoyed with Max, to the point of scaring him/hurting him, and seeming like she doesn't care at first. But then she is shown with a worried face. She's very protective of him. But I guess all siblings are anyways, so yeah. But that's exactly how I am with my little brother.

Maybe the reason why I came to like May so much is because our personalities are so different from each other? o_o I don't know.

In what way do you relate to May?
We're both really clumsy, lmao. I trip over everything. I also didn't really know a whole lot about Pokemon until she came onto the show, so it was like we were both learning at the same time (yeah, I'm kinda dumb when it comes to attack names and etc, so it was nice to know I wasn't the only one). xDD; We're both pretty emotional, friendly, cheerful, love eating (food <3) and shopping, and both have younger brothers, too. I'm girly but not too girly in the way that she is as well. I'd say she's probably the character I can relate to most when it comes down to it (except I'm more stubborn and get pissed easily, though I think May can be like that sometimes, too xD).

It has been over a year since she left, and I've been wondering how other people felt about this for a while now. It seems like everyone adjusted to Dawn faster than they adjusted to May after Misty left. So...yeah. Besides - we need a new topic to get this place more active. :D I'll answer later.

Asides from the fact that Pokemon is only in the middle of the Battle Frontier season and May is still around, May was an awesome character to have around for many, many reasons. It was kinda sad when she said she was leaving, the show seemed to have gotten better (at least for me) since Advance Generation.

I wasn't really all that shocked, cuz after watching Rivals Forever, I knew she'd probably end up leaving for Johto sometime or another. I was upset, but I knew her leaving was a big part of her character development and that it had to happen.
