Have you ever thought "Are these people idiots?"
I did. But the event also made me laugh, a lot.
Im ih highschool and in a program called Votech. Its pretty much vocational training.
Anyway, im in Computer Engineering. Our class pretty much fixes all of the other classes computers.
So Automotive says they have a couple computers that aren't working. One isn't booting up and the other one won't connect to the internet.
So me and a couple other people go down there to pick them up. We bring them back to class and I am (un)luckly enough to be the person who gets to fix the computer that won't boot up. Standard stuff, open the case and check if all the connections are connected. Just as im about to open the case, i notice the problem.
The power switch on the powersupply? It was turned off.
Even funnier is that the teachers for Auto had 'apparently' already checked that. Numerous times they said. Really? Well, I've got some nice land on the moon that you will be interested in.
Anyway, we hooked it up and it worked... well... umm... Perfectly. A little slow but then again, all of the computers they have are slow.
Not to be racist or anything, but the teacher that had 'apparently' checked the powerswitch was black.
Thankfully the other computer is actully broken, but then again, we have yet to take a closer look at it.

Echoing Kura, one of those 'half-acceptable-stereotypes-in-stories-because-they're-got-truth-in-them' is not that black people are computer illiterate. That's totally irrelevant because pretty much everyone can make dumb mistakes with computers.Posted January 25th, 2011 at 10:29 PM by Lornami
