So, am I just hanging out in the wrong sections, or does PC really have a lack of discussion in most topics?

What I mean is... I find the majority of topics operate like OVP topics- post once, maybe look at it later, but nothing else. And that kind of thing puzzles me. Why do people not talk about what other said, or go back and add more? Why is there not, you know, actual discussion? The only places I see with more discussion than not are Other Chat, Pokemon Groups, Other Clubs, and CQ&F (for the most part). Am I just looking in the wrong places, or am I missing something, or is this actually how most of PC operates? It feels kind of stagnant, really. I don't like it. :<

Nope. Black and White does have an outstanding amount of discussion if you look close enough. :D

I kind of agree, well I'm sort of only active in Culture and Media, but this is definitely an issue I've noticed.

I know what you mean. The Anime section has a few good discussions. The shipping debate is one that has a lot of good discussions coming from that area but then again it is a debate so I can see why. The Pokemon groups and clubs do have good discussions too. I've checked the Pokemon general area sometimes; there are quiet a few good discussions there.

Yeah I am sometimes post once and that is it, when I forget about the thread, but I try to add on in discussions where possible, like in B/W especially. But places like Culture and Media need more posts and discussions @-@ It has had an increase in posts with Moments and a couple of other regulars trying to revive it... but I think it can be like a great discussion place if people actually post there :(

This is the cycle of most threads...mostly because mods crack down on off-topicness in threads/sections that haven't been given leave to meander as they will.

Debate threads are always busy because there's always a point to decimate or prove. :3

I thought OVP contains come-and-go threads.

Well, here's the thing. If the first few replies to the original post are weak, then it's up to you (or any other poster capable of exhibiting an intelligent response) to stir up a discussion. The catch is that creating newfound discussion within a thread, may derail from the replies/original post a bit, leading the thread into off-topicness. It may be hard to wrap your finger around, but it should make enough sense, for the most part.
