Power Outage

3:37 pm PDT, there was a huuuuuge power outage...not just here in San Diego, but it was widespread all over Southern California, as well as parts of northern Baja Mexico and Arizona (I think). It was the worst 8 hours of my life.

I was on my break between my two classes... it was techincally my lunch time, but I'd rather be hangin' in the classroom with my buddies. The whole classroom went black, and to make matter worse, the A/C started leaking water on one of the computers. My buddies and I panicked, and watched that computer spark (well, not really spark, but it was about to. My buddies and I tend to be pretty exaggerative. lol).

Later on, my 2nd class got cancelled, and were sent home. But I ended up getting stuck in downtown because trolley services got shut down. My cellphone service became VERY sporadic. I couldn't reach my sister, nor my parents. I couldn't even get 4G service (...so much for backup service, AT&T >_>). Today was a horrible day to take the trolley. I regret not taking my car.

After getting stuck in the trolley station for....about 2-3 hours, I finally got cell service and called my sister to pick me up. She *rescued* me from the station, drove to the station where I parked my car, and headed back to the condo. For the next 4 hours or so, I survived the evening with apple juice and peanut butter sandwiches. There was nothing else, since most of our pantry required heat.

At 11 or so, power got restored...and I was so relieved.

Any PC members affected by the power outage.. I hope y'all made it through okay. :) I'm honestly happy I got full cellphone service back, and back on PC again. withdrawls!!!!

Update: NO SCHOOL FOR ME TOMORROW. yay, moar PC time for me.

Sounds like an exciting evening. D; And I'm jealous you have 4G service... we STILL don't have it in Indianapolis.

Glad to hear everything is okay now. ^^

Even though we weren't affected here (woooo norcal) the story was on the news nonetheless. Apparently the power was out for the entire city so yeah, a pretty serious blackout. I dunno what I would've done without Internet for that long, let alone transportation. :(

Just comes to show how much technology has become a essential in our lives. Also, the UK has barley got a hspa network, so 4g is really for away.
