Kind of inspired by the National Pokemon Association over at Smogon, but at any rate, I decided to create Pokemon Knockoffs of all the NFL Teams, I've even created logos for some! If you have names, feel free to donate.
AFC East
New England Patrats [Patrat sounds like Patriot]
Logo:
New York Chomps [Garchomp is based off of a Jet Plane [and a land shark, but that isn't relevant here], so it represents the New York Jets of the NPL]
Logo:
Miami Wailord [Well there aren't any Dolphin Pokemon, so I guess this was the closest thing]
Bouffalant Bills [Bouffalant is a Buffalo, and Buffalo Bouffalant sounded wierd, so I decided it would replace the city and not the mascot]
AFC North
Baltimore Mandibuzz [Aside from Honchkrow, Mandibuzz was the 2nd closest thing to a Raven, and Honchkrow is used for another team]
Cincinatti Raikou [Raikou is based off of a tiger, maybe not a Bengal Tiger, but at least it's close!]
Pittsburgh Steelix [Sounds like Steelers, I really like this name ^__^]
Cleveland Diglett [Diglett is mainly brown, not really any Pokemon I could wordplay with here, Diglett is also weak and the Browns are pretty bad themselves]
AFC South
Indianapolis Keldeo [A colt is a small horse, Keldeo is also a small horse!]
Houston ___ [No idea what to do here]
Jacksonville Liepard/Jacksonville Jolteon [Liepard may be a Leopard, but at least it looks like a Jaguar ;D. The second suggestion is courtesy of Twilightblade]
Tennessee Tyranitar/Tennessee Regigigas [Tyranitar sounds a bit like titan and is also huge and powerful like a titan, while Regi is the leader of the 'Legendary Titans' trio]
AFC West'
Denver Rapidash [Rapidash is a large, fast horse, just like a Bronco, it also has a flaming mane like the one in the Broncos' logo]
Logo:
Oakland Roseraiders/Oakland Bisharp [See what I did there? Bisharp could work too, since it reminds me of the Raider on their logo]
Logo:
San Diego Rotom [Any electric type could work here, but Rotom is known for its Charge Beam competitive sets and can put an electric 'charge' into objects like Washing Machines and Freezers]
Logo:
Kansas City ____ [No idea what to do here]
NFC East
New York Groudon [Groudon is the biggest Pokemon, therefore it can be considered a 'Giant']
Philadelphia Braviary [Braviary is an eagle]
Logo:
Dallas Tauros [A bull is a Boy Cow, so that technically makes it a 'Cow Boy'.]
Washington ___ [Not sure what to do here, either]
NFC North
Green Bayleef Packers/Green Bay Pachirisu [Green Bayleef sounds closer to the original name, although Pachirisu could work, as it sounds a bit like Packers and I'd prefer the mascot got changed to a Pokemon, as opposed to the city]
Detroit Luxray [Luxray is a lion]
Logo: [Art used in the logo made by Xous54 of Deviantart, used with permissions]
Minnesota ___ [Are there any Viking Pokemon?]
Chicago Ursaring/Beartic [Ursaring is a bear, the pun is better with Beartic, but Beartic is a polar bear.]
NFC South
Tampa Bay Sawsbuckaneers [Again, a pun, while Sawsbuck has nothing to do with pirates, it fits in well with the original name]
Atlanta Honchkrow/Atlanta Pidgeot [While it's a crow, Honchkrow does look a bit like a Falcon. The Atlanta Pidgeot is a name courtesy of Roswell, since Pidgeot could draw some inspiration from Falcons.]
New Orleans Arceus [Well they aren't gods because they one a super bowl, but like a Saint, Arceus is something that the holy have a lot of respect for]
Carolina Persian/Suicune [Persian and Suicune both have features similar to those of a panther, Suicune even goes along with the color theme!]
NFC West
Seattle Pelipper [A Pelican must be close to a Seahawk]
San Francisco Venomoth [Venomoth may seem irrelevant, but it's #49 in the Pokedex ;D]
St. Louis Flaafy/Terrakion [It may lack horns, but unlike Ampharos, it has wool, Terrakion can work too, since it actually is a ram.]
Arizona Moltres [Moltres is a Phoenix, so not only is it somewhat close, but the University of Phoenix Stadium is where the Cards play]
AFC East
New England Patrats [Patrat sounds like Patriot]
Logo:
Spoiler:

Actually, Terrakion is a Ram, so I could do that for St. Louis, so thanks for bringing that to my attention and yeah, I do!Posted September 11th, 2011 at 04:12 AM by Karpman

Well, I'll be hornswoggled. Anyway, have you thought about having Suicune represent Carolina. It's sort of panther-like. And I love what you said about the Browns. A Patrat could beat a Diglett.Posted September 11th, 2011 at 04:17 AM by Mario The World Champion

Hmm, that could work, as could Persian, but Suicune kind of its with the whole color scheme and yeah, Diglett has bad stats outside of speed lol.Posted September 11th, 2011 at 04:23 AM by Karpman
