Yea... not really...
Ok so my project this year in college is to design an ICT classroom and part of the project is to ask questions to the target audience and since pretty much the entire member base is either still in education or has been in education recently I thought you guys might be able to help me out :3
There mostly simple yes/no style questions.
If you help me out and fill this in i will love you forever and ever <3

1. Age: 16
2. Gender: genderless Female
3. Do you use classrooms frequently as a student or a teacher? Yes
4. Do you often get distracted in the classroom/see others get distracted? Yes - Very, very distracted
5. If yes to the previous question, is it from a lack of visual features or from not enough visual features? Lack, plus the added fact I have a laptop with PC open (which is clearly more interesting)
6. Do you think the layout is important in a classroom Yes, cause some rooms have really funky seating plans
7. Do you think traditional layout or a modern layout would benefit learning in a classroom? Modern - Traditional is too Traditional...
8. Do you think furniture quality effects classroom performance? Yes - Because desks with writing and scratches all over them are distracting :d
9. What furniture do you think is mandatory for a good classroom? (chairs, tables, over head projectors, etc.) Chairs, Tables (Cause obviously I'd hate to stay standing in a class) + Smartboard (But on the condition that the teachers ACTUALLY know how to use it because from what I've seen, it's completely useless if they don't.
10. Where do you think the optimum position of the teacher is to aid learning? Front - Cause teachers behind me are creepy stalkers and watch what I do on my laptopPosted September 23rd, 2011 at 06:12 AM by zappyspiker

1. Age: 14
2. Gender: female
3. Do you use classrooms frequently as a student or a teacher? Yes
4. Do you often get distracted in the classroom/see others get distracted? Yes, I'm incredibly easily distracted.
5. If yes to the previous question, is it from a lack of visual features or from not enough visual features? Lack. And also school is just plain boring and I have a computer with access to entertaining sites.
6. Do you think the layout is important in a classroom (of tables and chairs etc)? Yes. I find if it's too bland I end up hating the room and not wanting to be there, therefore not wanting to be in the class, therefore not wanting to do the work in that class. If there's too much there, I get distracted easier.
7. Do you think traditional layout or a modern layout would benefit learning in a classroom? Yes, I prefer modern rooms. It makes things feel newer. I like new things.
8. Do you think furniture quality effects classroom performance? Yes. If the furniture is tacky I just want to complain about it and never get any work done.
9. What furniture do you think is mandatory for a good classroom? (chairs, tables, over head projectors, etc.) Classrooms generally need the obvious neccesities, like tables and chairs and a white board/black board, It's also good to have computers in the room, over head projectors are also good. The smart boards at my school are pretty useless because no one ever uses them except to watch movies on. >.>
10. Where do you think the optimum position of the teacher is to aid learning? (front, back, side, corner) Front. They can see everyone's faces from there. Also I think a lot of people would get too uncomfortable having their teacher behind themPosted September 23rd, 2011 at 06:33 AM by Buttered Coat

I'm a recent grad but I'll answer these according to my last year.
1. Age: 21
2. Gender: female
3. Do you use classrooms frequently as a student or a teacher? Yes
4. Do you often get distracted in the classroom/see others get distracted? no
5. If yes to the previous question, is it from a lack of visual features or from not enough visual features? Lack/too much
6. Do you think the layout is important in a classroom (of tables and chairs etc)? Yes
7. Do you think traditional layout or a modern layout would benefit learning in a classroom? Depends on the course offered. Obviously if it's an art class for example; tables facing the front would be useless. It'd be better to have a still life set up in the middle and have all the seats around it so that everyone can see the right amount of detail.
8. Do you think furniture quality effects classroom performance? Yes (in my case most definitely.. we used animation desks and if they were the cheap ones that didn't go higher/lower then it hurt our eyes or posture. Same goes for chairs. Ergonomics is important.)
9. What furniture do you think is mandatory for a good classroom? Again it depends on the course (woodworking is much different than algebra lol) but like I said, good ergonomics is essential. And something (or multiple things) to illustrate the point to the class (whether it be a board, projector, TV etc.)
10. Where do you think the optimum position of the teacher is to aid learning? Middle.. unless it's a lecture in an auditorium.. in that case.. front.Posted September 23rd, 2011 at 06:33 AM by Kura

4. Do you often get distracted in the classroom/see others get distracted? Yes
5. If yes to the previous question, is it from a lack of visual features or from not enough visual features? It's more about other people being more interesting that me sitting there doing nothing, since I tend to finish work and get nothing else done. But for the sake of the question, too much.

1. Age: 18
2. Gender: Female
3. Do you use classrooms frequently as a student or a teacher? Yes
4. Do you often get distracted in the classroom/see others get distracted? Yes
5. If yes to the previous question, is it from a lack of visual features or from not enough visual features? Either. I will consider such things no matter how they are. I get distracted by my own mind.
6. Do you think the layout is important in a classroom (of tables and chairs etc)? Hell yes.
7. Do you think traditional layout or a modern layout would benefit learning in a classroom? Depends on the course and how the class is taught. Lecture-style is less effective if half the class can't see the teacher; group work is difficult when students have to scoot around to see each other.
8. Do you think furniture quality effects classroom performance? Nah.
9. What furniture do you think is mandatory for a good classroom? (chairs, tables, over head projectors, etc.) Chairs & tables or desks, whiteboards.
10. Where do you think the optimum position of the teacher is to aid learning? (front, back, side, corner) Front.Posted September 24th, 2011 at 02:23 AM by TheSmartOne

1. Age: 12
2. Gender: male
3. Do you use classrooms frequently as a student or a teacher? Yes
4. Do you often get distracted in the classroom/see others get distracted? Yes, that's probably because I think I have ADHD and I'm going to be tested sometime soon.
5. If yes to the previous question, is it from a lack of visual features or from not enough visual features? Too much. I start reading the things on the wall and thinking about those instead of my current work.
6. Do you think the layout is important in a classroom (of tables and chairs etc)? Yes
7. Do you think traditional layout or a modern layout would benefit learning in a classroom?Modern I think. Just rows of chairs don't work well in my opinion.
8. Do you think furniture quality effects classroom performance? Yes, can't learn with uncomfortable chairs or annoying furniture. At least I can't.
9. What furniture do you think is mandatory for a good classroom? Chairs, tables, overhead projector and a white board
10. Where do you think the optimum position of the teacher is to aid learning? Side is good
Hope I helped and did it right Davie.Posted September 24th, 2011 at 06:12 PM by Xyrin
