Hmmm. Does anyone know how to motivate themselves to do something they used to be super enthusiastic about?

I ask, because I saw Aizuke's blog about his Amaterasu sig, and it kinda made me go "I really wish I could just pick sig making back up like I used to do". For now, I seem to just kinda make something once in a blue moon, and I use to make sigs all the time. Lots of sucky ones, to be sure, but I learned and grew and got to where I am today.

But I feel I have stagnated and don't know how to learn more and be what I used to be. It's like, I open up GIMP, and I just go "Do this do this do this" and then either "Quit and give up" or "keep going but make something mehish" And I don't learn anything from that. :<

And I have tried looking at what I think I lack in, and tried to fix it, but again, Idk what to do. Like, I don't know how to find good resources for effects, or how to do really good text (My current sig is like, the only one that I think has decent text, lol) or how to do awesome lighting. And when I try, I feel like my brain just goes "NOPE NUH UH NO MORE" Is it me being burnt out or what?

Hmmm. This is just mainly a vent/rant/complaining thing that you don't have to read if you don't want. :3

Heh, I post that AFTER the end of the blog entry. xD

    The easiest way is to make a point to do it. Set a schedule for yourself.. think of it like getting into the gym. Once you set a routine it'll come easier for you and you'll want to do it more often <3

    Haha yeah.. Syd's right, I am of the female gender. But that's okay, I get mistaken as a guy a lot.

    To be honest, I've been on and off graphics making, I don't make graphics as much as I use to, due to being busy in real life and all.

    When I see other people's work, it motivates me to want to do graphics or draw again, although why I made that banner.. Was to make the youtube speed clip haha.

    But try looking up tutorials that can help, I've read a lot of tutorials to get to where I am today. I'm not too familiar with GIMP, but I'm always open to people who want a few pointers in graphics and all.

    Okay first...I am sorry Aizuke! ;-; That's what, my third or fourth public case of gender misidentification? >__<

    @Kura: Hmmm, it'll be tough given my random schedule, but I will try. ^__^

    @Sydian: >______>

    @Aizuke: Would you happen to know a good place to find tutorials? I used to use GIMPTalk Forums, but lately they either don't have any sig ones, or are having lots of DBE's. xD

    (don't take malyka's advice for tutorials, she abuses smilies too much and makes like 5,000 mistakes, hey malyka?)

    I just thought of somehting. I think part of my problem is that all my resources I have are old to me. They don't inspire me because I have used them too often. SO I htink I amm gonna go on a resource run, lol, like, find stocks, textures, c4ds, etc. ^__^

    Excuuuuse me William, I meant other people's tutorials, not my own!

    And you could try deviantART or maybe just google GIMP banner tutorials. Also dA is good for resources too. And PlanetRenders.
