So Kelsy the Lapras basically kicked Giovanni's gym in the butt and we were ready for Victory Road. But first, RIVAL.
...So easy.
Victory Road was easy, and we stopped at the end, healed up from the E4 center, and grinded. But then, ofc, my stupid self has to ruin everything. I hadn't fought a trainer and decided to do so, sending out Kelsy. He/she has some fire type, possibly Arcanine, and I surf it. He has like -1 hp and ends up OHKOing Kelsy with OVERHEAT or something... I was like... "Welp time to grind again."
RIP Kelsy, Lv. 25~54
Everyone else was all grinded, but I was missing a much needed water type. Although I thought I had none left in the box, apparently I had forgotten Barry, my lv 9 tentacool. (He was such a blast to grind to lv55, you have no idea). So now Kelsy's shoes were filled with an awesome Tentacruel and I was almost all set, except one problem. If my favorite teammate (never forget Keaton the Jolteon) hadn't died to Sabrina's Alakazam, the first E4 would have been pie. Even with an Electrode it would be, right? Wrong. Electrode's best move at lv57 was Spark. So I was like WTF? That will not OHKO anything. ANYTHING. So I spent hours getting Thunderbolt, and realized because Kelsy died (whyyyy) I had no Ice type. So more hours till I got Ice Beam and gave it to Barry, who turned into my Ice Killer for the E4. NOW. I was ready.
Lorelei was easy, Dec's TBolt raped most everything, but then there was Jynx. I thought Isaac the Charizard would OHKO with Flamethrower, but my brain farted and it didn't, and she hits with Ice Punch, ofc crit, but he lives with 3 hp. (:
Bruno, much like everyone that ever played the game, was easy. Barry took out the Onixes, and Manny the Pidgeot/Chad the Exeggutor took out the Fighting types, although Chad did most of the work because Manny's stupid secondary typing.
Agatha COULD have been a problem without Chad, but... NOPE. Chad obliterated every Gengar or any pokemon before it could hit with Shadow Ball/Poison move that would probably hurt. BUT I didn't risk it with Golbat. Although I had Quick Claw on him, I had no idea what the exact mechanics are about that item and didn't want to leave it chance and let Dec the Electrode TBolt him
Drake was not that hard... Gyarados=TBOLTTTT. Dragonairs and Dragonites ALL OHKOd by Barry. And ALL of the Ice Beams were crits. Problem, Drake? BUT his Aerodactyl was a problemo. I thought Barry could just Surf kill it, but nope. Lives with -1, Gets a Rock Slide/Ancientpower/some rock type move off, his health is going down... I'm thinking "Wow, you managed to kill the MVP of the E4 and your newest mate" but he survived, actually with decent HP (low yellow). And the rest of Drake was history!
Finally, Gary. I didn't even use the turbo button here because I didn't want to make ANY mistakes. I start off with Dec and TBolt OHKOs Pidgeot, (unneeded crits). Rhydon gets ded by Surf from Barry. Now his Alakazam was a problem. I knew Chad could stall kill him but I was still worried because it's Alakazam, which almost made me wipe. But the reason I didn't wipe WAS CHAD. So I was slightly confident. The battle was as follows:
>Stun Spore to lower speed
>Synchronize trolls me, Ala is para'd
>Full Heal, para'd again (yep)
>Giga Drain, goes to red, uses a Full Restore. No more Parahax.
>And the rest was Giga Drain, Full Restor, Giga Drain, Full Restore. Rinse and repeat. Fortunately after my last Giga Drain he didn't heal and I killed him with Egg Bomb.
And then his Arcanine. What is up with Arcanines? Barry probably could have killed him, I don't know why I didn't send him in first, but I felt like Quinn's Earthquake could have OHKOd, and I also thought it could live a Flamethrower. But ofc, crit Flamethrower brings down one of my favorites on the team. ): RIP Quinn the Nidoking, Lv22~55. Barry comes out to revenge kill, he gets a CRIT EXTREMESPEED, ALMOST KILLS THE MVP, but he lives and Surf kills him. The rest was easy, Dec OHKOs Blastoise with crit TBolt and Isaac OHKOs Exeggutor with Flamethrower.
Final team:
Isaac the Charizard Lv56
Manny the Pidgeot Lv55
Chad the Exeggutor Lv57
Barry the Tentacruel Lv57
Dec the Electrode Lv56
It was a lot of fun but I'm so excited to start the next chapter of my Ultimate Nuzlocke Challenge that I decided to do Mewtwo at some point later on. For now, SoulSilver, here we come!
