I really dislike the way people advertise them ALL OVER THE FORUM.
Sure I'm advertising #PoC in my sig but #PoC is awesome but I didn't make it, blame AlexOzzyCake aka moderator of Pokémon Groups Clubs.
You only need to advertise it in the section it's focused on, because you want people who are actually interested in that section to visit. So many we should stop this trend of being like everywhere

because maybe they will get interested? i wasn't really interested in trading that much till i started going to #tradecorner cause mac told me i should go there and had i not gone there, i wouldn't have learned how to rng and i wouldn't have made awesome trade friends and i wouldn't be active in trade corner at all. soooo. yeah.Posted August 2nd, 2012 at 10:37 PM by Sydian

I don't mind those adverts. Actually, if Johnny18 didn't tell me there's an IRC channel of Trade Corner I'd still be lurking Trade Corner and other forums, but I actually got active, because I've grown into smaller community of #tradecorner regulars.
Also, I've never seen an advert as big as your example outside of some sticky threads and annoucements which is completely fine with me.
