Resolutions to look forward to -

My resolutions? Absolutely nothing. I can't say that I will commit to anything on paper, as things happen and circumstances develop that might cause me to be unable to effectively/accurately work out my resolutions in due time. Perhaps my expected resolutions over the next five years, or perhaps decade, would be more appropriate. Some cannot comprehend how short of a span of time a year is. In essence and, once again I say, on paper, a year seems like a long time. Really? Let's consider -
A day - 24 hours
A year - 364 days
A year - 8736 hours
How fast does it seem like our days fly by, especially since 6-9 of them are spent sleeping, another 4-8 spent working (depending on your age group and career)? As we grow older, our days grow with us. They become shorter, start earlier and end earlier. Life is also a burlap sack full of things that cannot be expected, and those unexpected things are what actually make life happen so trying to commit to something as trivial as a 'resolution' is a futile effort in my opinion.

A resolution is a fun goal to work towards, sorta like an achievement.
It's not meant to be accomplished lol, it's only if you want to. Kinda like a video game achievement.
And have you realized all the clichéd resolutions are in the same format? "Lose 20 pounds in a year." "Travel 500m in fifteen seconds." "Take your best friend out to dinner." "Escort [annoying person] to [faraway place] on foot."Posted January 2nd, 2013 at 08:18 PM by droomph
