I'm dreaming
and yet i don't even know
What I'm even capable of, or even the power that I hold
I feel so ludicrous, I cannot see why
I am unable to distinguish fantasy and reality, there is such a thin line
I will however, forever live in fantasy
if it came down to,
to control everything to my own hearts desire
The concept would be quite enjoyable. You agree, don't you?
As I dream forever more
I dream up my thoughts, never they are cluttered or clogged
but nevermind that
It's now time for me to welcome you to the

Being a grown up.

Just wondering, for those of you who are living the life and responsibilities and expectations of an adult(like paying bills, or possibly living independently, getting things on your own, etc) do you enjoy this independence? I mean, I'm just curious is all. I know that, I was discussing this with a good friend of mine IRL, and we kind of miss being kids again, back when things were significantly easier and we didn't really have as much responsibility.
Though I suppose if we were younger, we couldn't really get a job. .-.; Without a job, there's not much money to be made so...I suppose there's good sides to being an adult?
What are your thoughts, guys? If you had a chance, would you go back and live your childhood years again?

If I could relive my childhood differently with all the knowledge I have now, I would. Life seemed simpler back then and armed with knowledge I have now, there are a lot of thing I'd do a bit differently.
But as for responsibilities of adulthood, it has it's ups and downs. Working to make enough to eat and pay rent is strenuous, but I get a strong sense of responsibility and pride when I'm able to do it myself...and I feel deep shame and inadequacy whenever I can't and need to ask my parents for some help.
However, when I was able to drive and buy things on my own, I loved it. It gave me a great sense of freedom that I honestly wouldn't trade or anything. Hell, since I've turned 21, being able to buy alcohol and drink responsibly (especially drinking responsibly) feels like a great freedom.Posted January 17th, 2013 at 06:03 AM by CarcharOdin

I'd do things differently if I lived my childhood. I wouldn't want to just repeat it. Being responsible is tiring, but I get to make my own decisions about most things and when I do good I can be happy with myself. But I don't mind being responsible, I just wish I had more time for myself. That's really the one drawback to being an adult that I can think of.Posted January 17th, 2013 at 07:09 PM by Scarf
