Wake me up. I'm living a nightmare.

WAKE ME UP, I'M LIVING A NIGHTMARE..." - Adam Goniter, Three Days Grace.

For a sixteen year old, I seem to have a lot of nightmares. I guess all these breakdowns is causing me to have more. These past two weeks alone, I've had more than twelve (I counted) five last Monday, and then one every day after that. "They're just dreams, I doubt they could do any damage..." is what I usually think, but. Lately they have completely damaged my subconscious. I don't fear sleeping, of course not, but I sometimes use my dreams to escape reality--but lately I can't even do that--I find myself running from my dreams instead. It's been that way for a while now, actually.

I guess I'm not talking to my stuffed animals enough to be free from nightmares at night.

I think you're running from your problems and your dreams are trying to tell you that but hey! that's just my interpretation. I haven't seen you post yet about taking steps to be proactive yet except for using your blog as an outlet, so maybe stepping outside your comfort zone or trying to read into what your dreams might be trying to help you may help in your conscious wake. Also don't eat late at night because that will more likely cause you to remember your dreams more often.

I mean you say you talk to your stuffed animals yet you ignore any of my attempts to speak to you about how you're feeling so it just sounds like double-standards here. Sure I can be blunt sometimes but I'm not here to pat your butt and tell you "feel better" because we both know that wont do anything. Take a bit more responsibility and if you want to change how you think and feel, make an attempt for the appropriate steps.

Forgive me if I am wrong but it is like you are using this blog to reach out to others, and when others respond to your cries, you don't know what to do in the situation so you just retreat into a cycle. Why would you do that when you obviously want to reach out to others? You dig a deeper hole while asking others to throw you a rope? I don't understand. I'm not saying you have to talk back to me specifically, but try to do something to break the cycle, otherwise many people will see you as someone who's just crying wolf and will stop taking you seriously. People will stop bothering with you because they wont think that it is even worth their time investing in a minute to read what you have to say because no matter what they do will have absolutely no impact on you. I doubt others want to have a recurring feeling that what they say would be nothing to someone- it makes them feel pretty horrible if they feel they are not even listened to. You have an impact on others even when you think you are alone and you need to think about that.

Swallow that for a moment. Then think about your fears. And then take a few steps on how you can approach it better.
Next time, maybe write a blog about what you wanted to feel like in a certain situation, and what positive attempts you made to change that (even if it's partially successful, it's a step in the right direction.) Actually try this week and post your successes.
Only you can help yourself. All I can provide is a wake up slap in the face. If you don't want to hear it anymore, just let me know and I wont post to you next time. Otherwise I may continue dependent on my mood and own feelings, just like I realize that blogging about yours is entirely up to you. I don't discredit what you choose to share.

    Good luck,

I'm going to second Kura here, since we seem to be talking open and honestly about these things.

You need professional help. Do you need it for the problems that you've posted on this blog? Probably not. But there's maladjustment in your life somewhere that needs balance and only a professional can help you. If you can't afford that, I will certainly compile a list of reliable resources for you to start. I personally will do everything in my power short of walking you through the door.

The thing about some of the issues you're experiencing (which range from antisocial behavior to sleep problems) is that they're all symptoms. You need to discover the cause of your underlying issues in your life and get them treated. Otherwise, you're only hurting your cause by reaching out to people who have no actual means of helping. If you want it to change and you want the pain to stop, than you have to make it happen.

Oftentimes, I have dreams where I'm in a precarious situation, typically where I'm in school and am faced with a difficult math test or some other project, with questions that I can't figure out how to answer. In at least a couple of these kind of dreams, I've lashed out in anger and told others in the class that I want to go back several decades. In another one, I got frustrated over a quiz in economics, which involved some algebraic equations which I couldn't figure out, so I figured that I was going to fail the quiz (and the class) anyway. To vent my anger, I then told a friend of mine in the class that I wished I was in Detroit (of all places), where my mom was born and grew up. Of course, things were way different there back when my mom and her parents lived there (she left in 1972, after her dad passed.)

In another set of dreams I've had, I would get on a bus thinking I'm going to my home county's vocational center to take computer classes, where I either get stopped from going on that bus, or the bus instead takes me to the skill center that I actually went to when I was in high school.
