In your face college!
When I decided to sign up for college classes, my counselor recommended this "learning community". Apparently, it was this three hour long class that combined English 101, English 111, and Psychology 101. It had three different professors and I thought it would be neat because the classes would bounce materials off of each other so I didn't have to study three different things. So, I decided to take the class. When time came and I got the list of supplies I needed, I expected a few books, but what I didn't expect was twelve of them. Not a single one of them were textbooks, they were all novels.
Well, at a rate of two to three novels a week, our class has not so gradually made our way through all of these books. What the professors were hoping to teach was good time management and how to deeply analyze the text for the meanings buried deep inside as well as the running theme. The real thing I learned in this class is how to BS my way through college. Out of the twelve novels, I have only read three of them all the way through. The rest of them I've gathered just enough information to use on the essays and then tossed them aside.
Thanks college! I can now BS my way through material like never before!
