R.I.P. my Alpha Sapphire save file

Yeah, today is a sad day for my Pokemon Gaming experience...

My hard-worked Alpha Sapphire save file corrupted and pretty much lost everything, because it "couldn't recognize the SD" card, meaning I'd have to totally restart all over again. Guess my days of exploring Hoenn are over, and time to return to Kalos I guess... just like how my Unova journey ended with Black 2's corruption.

So, has anyone ever experienced a corrupted save? It is the worst thing that can ever happen to a Pokemon gamer.

It's happened to me a few times but at least you can start over fresh with a new adventure!

The problem is 3DS games are incredibly hard to clear the saves off, but no I'm not keen on doing a new adventure because I hate having to build back up from such a huge crash. I'll just stick to X right now and remain stuck in Kalos.

I find it much easier to start fresh in earlier generations, but not 6th Gen I'm afraid.

Sometimes I wish if only they allowed us to make some back-ups in Gen VI games when we needed it, it sure would save the hassle of starting over again due to data corruption.

I have the same problems with starting fresh in gen VI. I don't know exactly why, but those games aren't as fun for me to replay. It's not that I don't like them, I really enjoyed them my first time around, but idk. I guess that first time felt like enough? :( Sorry about your save file though, Hikari. Years ago, I used my Sapphire cart to store all my Pokemon from Ruby, Emerald, Colosseum, FireRed, you name it. And I turned it on one day to see the file corrupted and had a huge anxiety attack. ...But I turned it back on later to restart after convincing myself it would be okay, and everything was back. I still to this day don't know how that happened, lol. But I hope that you'll eventually be able to return to Hoenn!

Out of curiosity, was your game downloaded or is this a physical cartridge?

Physical. I always go physical, but yeah this is my second huge data-wiping corruption to happen after my Black 2 cartridge went bust last year.

Yo, I've had that crap happen. I usually set it down for a WHILE until I'm not too bitter anymore about it and start anew. Take a break from it, really. Go travel around the cuteness that is Kalos. <3

I hear you, backing up save files seems like such an important thing, and would really make things easier :/
