I almost died, not once, but three times today.

Let’s just say that today has probably been one of the worst days of my live when it comes to close calls.
Even if the close calls had not happened, this day could not be classified as a good day.
For starters, I had to wake up at 4:30 a.m. to driver over 100 miles for work. I stopped by a Quick Trip on my way there and grabbed me a drink, and a 5 hour energy (man those things are wicked).
Once at work, I downed the power shot, which according to the label, can cause you to become hot because the blood flow near the skin increases. What it doesn't tell you is that this will last for the 5+ hours.
So here it is, I've been at work for about 40 minutes, sweating my ass off cause of this "hot flash" when I am working near an electrical out let, I bump the thing, and I get a light show.
I'm not talking about the lights flickering, I'm talking about a short happening right in front of me. There is a white light, a blinding white light, and the loud noise of electricity arcing. After about a second, the breaker finally pops, but the light show is far from done, all of this arcing has started a fire right in front of me. >.>
Luckily it was a small fire, so I was able to get it our rather quickly. The best thing about that whole thing is that I was able to joke about it saying that "I haven't even been here an hour, but I've already managed to catch the place on fire."
So a few more hours pass, and it’s time for lunch, I'm driving down Harry, near Spangles, when a lady pulls out in front of me, I swerved and slammed on the brakes and horn, missing her by just inches.
I'm more pissed off than scared about that because she was just being stupid. >:{
Several hours more pass, I'm off work now, eaten supper, on my way up to my room in this hotel. My room is on the 5th floor, I'm currently somewhere between 3rd and 4th floors when the elevator suddenly goes into free fall.
I'm not freaking kidding you. I and the elevator fell about 5 feet before it suddenly stopped, then resumed it ever so slow ascent.
When it reached the 5th floor, I literally jumped off of the stupid thing.
I don't think I have ever been so afraid before. I could just see me falling 4 stories to the basement. D:
Anyway, I'm off to bed now, hopefully I'll wake up and have a much better, and safer day tomorrow.

Wow, sounds like you had a pretty crazy day indeed. If I were you I would leave that elevator for someone else, while I take the steps for sometime. Definitely gives us some exerscise. Wish you the best of luck tomorrow, and hopefully nothing as drastic as these will occur again.Posted June 2nd, 2009 at 03:02 AM by Kyone
