People seem to be rather angry (as I predicted) about Crystal additions in a remake of Gold and Silver. Sure it makes the games less like Gold and Silver, but can't people see that Crystal practically made the whole Johto plot a lot better than it was? Sure, Eusine's there and given that, Suicune's story will be melded in, but did the games have that much substance besides Team Rocket's plans to begin with? Can you name any?
And don't forget that they're adding other stuff to the game besides Crystal's plot elements - the PokéWalker, updated Ruins, etc. Yellow and its lack of presence in FR/LG doesn't count because it added features exclusively focused on Pikachu. Think of Crystal as the "director's cut" and that they want to add them. Yellow, not so much. (Also, Yellow is not, contrary to popular belief, the "third game". That title belongs to Blue, which brought slightly upgraded graphics to the game - the American version reflects this while Gold/Silver do not.)
And on the topic of "additions", Kanto was plain and boring (and cut down) even if it was nostalgic. If they add nothing to it, what's going to be the appeal? (That said, given the DS generation I'm thinking Kanto's going to get a whole lot more personality.)

The ruins are not that much of an update I think its just the crystal parts included in seperate rooms for more exploration. XD And yeah Kanto will surely be given life then how deadbeat it was in gsc.
