Baby Days Part II

Posted December 19th, 2010 at 04:00 PM by The Red Chain

Well, it turns out that Elayah had so much bruising on her that she had a risk of developing jaundice. So, they had to keep her overnight on the 17th and put her under a special light that would help clear up the dying red blood cells from her bruising. Her Bilirubin levels were rather high too they said, so they wanted to make sure it went down first before they let her go home. Man that sucked. Sissy wanted to come home but she had to stay because of the baby hehe. XD
I was really irritated but it was for the better of the baby..

So then yesterday we went -back- to the hospital and the baby's Bilirubin levels had finally gone down thanks to all the feeding she got to go to the bathroom more often. The jaundice risk was no longer in effect as well thanks to the light, so we could finally bring her home! What annoyed me most is that when we strapped the baby into her car seat upstairs in my sissy's hospital room, they were being really fickle about it.. and my sissy couldn't even carry her own baby downstairs [in the car seat]. The nurses were all like "Oh no, you just had a baby so we can't let you carry her." It really annoyed me cause my sister was completely fine and walking perfectly so wtf. >__>
They took -her- baby downstairs.

Ma had previously pulled the car up to the entrance and warmed it up. We strapped the baby into the back seat and we were finally on our way home! So now she is home and she's doing great! I'm so relieved and so happy to have Elayah home. <3 Buttt, I'm still annoyed with the nurses for that. :x

Bah oh well. XD

Sissy is out with Jenn and Elayah right now but when she gets back and when the baby gets more awake I'll take some pictures and post them.

    I'm glad that the baby recovered from the jaundice ^___^ I hope to see pictures of her soon. I bet she's adorable as ever, despite me being terrified of babies... .___.;

    @ Twilight ; Right now they are a grayish color but baby's eyes are usually due to change a few weeks after birth, so we'll see in a while what her true eye color is. :3

    @ Cap'n ; Thank you~
