A story so stupid I have to share.
Yesterday, I was walking in the dark to my sister's place to have some tasty, tasty foods. (Which were indeed tasty.)
As I typically do before walking to my sister's house -- especially after dark -- I sent out a text saying I was on my way. Shortly after I start walking, my sister replies back, asking if I want a ride. They hadn't left the grocery store quite yet, so it wasn't out of their way.
I go onto the grass to avoid hitting any cars, and I start walking and sending a reply back:
"I've already started walking, but if you want to try to catch me on X street, go ahead"
And then, BAM!
I hit a pole. :(
Instead of curling into a sobbing heap, I laugh it off, and then add "Also watch out for poles" to my text. My sister and her husband then proceeded to laugh at me, once they managed to find me on X street.
Hitting the pole gave me two tiny scratches on one hand, ripped off a small patch of skin on my other hand, gave me a huge bump on my head, and has left me with one of the nastiest bruises I've ever seen on one of my knees.
As you can all tell now, I'm not the brightest person in the world, and not very observant on top of that. :) I mostly blame it on being dark, because honestly I didn't see it coming at all. Although obviously I should've been standing still, not moving and texting when I couldn't see anything in front of me. But now I learned that the hard way. I think my head still hates me for it.
(I think you will all feel more comfortable knowing I can't drive, nor would I trust myself with my phone at all while driving if I could.)
